Elaine looked at Richard and said happily, “This is wonderful, Richard, just wonderful! Our daughter is willing to acknowledge us. We’ve finally found our daughter again.”
As Elaine spoke, tears streamed down her face. Richard quickly wiped them away for her.
“Alright, alright, don’t cry. Our daughter is back. This is a good thing. Why are you crying like this?”
“I’m just so emotional, so overjoyed. Our daughter is willing to accept us, I’m just so happy.”
At that moment, Terence moved to Natalie’s side, his fingers lacing through hers in a firm, reassuring grip that told her he wasn't going anywhere.
It was true. Life might have many hurdles that seem impossible to overcome, but when you finally cross them, when you try to accept love, you discover that the world is far more beautiful than you ever imagined.
They were all so happy, completely unaware of a pair of malicious eyes watching them from a dark corner.
Everyone at the dinner table was enjoying themselves. Richard turned to Terence and said, “Mr. Lockwood, Marcus Ward told me that the Aurelius Dominion Group is partnering with us on a $100 billion project. I hear you were the one who made it all happen behind the scenes. Thank you so much.”
Elaine chimed in, “Is your gratitude just a glass of wine?”
Richard replied, “Of course not. This is a $100 billion partnership. A glass of wine could never be enough.”
Richard then said to Terence, “For this project, 90% of the Ward Group’s profits will go to you.”
Everyone was stunned. Giving Terence 90% of the project’s profits? Wasn’t that just handing him money? The Ward family had previously wanted Terence to inherit the Ward Group because they didn’t want their daughter to struggle, but Terence had refused. Now, they were using a different method to give them money, ensuring their daughter’s financial security.
Natalie protested, “No, you can’t do that. If you do, wouldn’t my brother be working for free?”
Natalie insisted, “No, this won’t work. My brother will be at a huge disadvantage. Terence, you won’t agree to this either, right?”
Terence chuckled, casting a glance at Natalie. “I appreciate the offer, but I have a feeling I’m not the one calling the shots here. If the boss says no, I wouldn't dare argue.”
Terence’s words made everyone laugh.
Natalie gave his foot a sharp nudge under the table to shut him up.
What did he mean, “under strict supervision”? And when had she become his wife?
Elaine said happily, “This is just wonderful. The CEO of the Aurelius Dominion Group is such a good person. Not only did he cancel their partnerships with the Lockwood Group and the Everhart Group, getting revenge for us, but he also gave our Ward family such a massive project. I really want to thank him properly.”
