Edgar Lockwood was stunned. He turned to Daphne angrily. “What are you doing here? What are you trying to achieve with all this nonsense?”
Edgar had come back to persuade Grace Lockwood, to get her to plead with Terence on his behalf.
Since Terence was now the man in power at the Aurelius Dominion Group, he should just let his grandson, Simon, have the Lockwood Group. But he never expected to find Daphne here.
Daphne was incensed that Edgar was defending Grace. “Nonsense? How is this nonsense, husband?”
When Mrs. Lockwood heard Daphne call Edgar “husband,” she instantly recognized the woman. This was her father-in-law’s old mistress. No wonder she hadn’t recognized her at first. The nerve of her, showing up to provoke them.
Grace stepped forward. “What did you just call Edgar Lockwood?”
Daphne replied, “That’s right, he is my husband. I’m sorry, Grace. The man I was going to marry back then was Edgar Lockwood. He’s the one who didn’t want me to tell you. He told me we’d never find peace under the suffocating weight of social expectations here. Only in Marentis, a paradise on earth, could we truly enjoy our lives, where our bodies and souls could be free.”
As Grace listened to Daphne’s words, a blinding clarity shattered the fog in her mind, everything finally snapping into focus.
The memories all came flooding back. Fifty years ago, Daphne said she was getting married. Grace had signed her release papers and given her enough money to start a new life. Not long after, Edgar had an “accident” and was declared dead in an explosion.
She had raised their son alone, supporting the Lockwood Group all this time. She had endured losing her husband early on, and then her son in her middle age. She had gritted her teeth and pushed through it all. But she never imagined her husband had faked his death, run off with her maid, and lived with her for fifty years, only to return now with his grandson to fight over her fortune.
She remembered. She remembered everything.
Grace marched forward and slapped Edgar Lockwood across the face.

I think Terence must know something isn't right about Angela, that's why he agreed to figure it out....
Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
