Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 862

Marcus was speechless. He’d never seen someone so reckless.

“Fine. Go on in.”

Darren entered, his hand wrapped in a makeshift bandage that was already beginning to soak through with blood. Natalie, who had been sitting with a blank, unreadable expression, was startled by the sight and snapped back to reality.

“Darren, what happened to you?”

“It’s nothing,” Darren said. “I just bumped into something by accident.”

Standing behind him, Marcus thought, *Bumped into something? He looked like he was ready to die.* At least he had the decency not to rat him out.

Natalie was skeptical. How could an accident cause an injury like that?

She immediately had a maid bring the first-aid kit and began to clean his wound.

Darren looked at Natalie. Though she appeared to be fine on the surface, he knew this was when she was at her most vulnerable. When she was hurting, she would act like nothing was wrong, even when her heart was in a thousand pieces.

Darren said softly, “Natalie, if you’re sad, you can talk to me. You don’t have to hold it all in.”

He went through all that just to tell her she could talk to him if she was sad. Marcus really couldn't understand him.

Marcus scoffed, “Are you actually defending him now? What is this? Some kind of secret club for world-class jerks?”

Marcus couldn’t wrap his head around it. Did Darren go to all that trouble just to come here and speak on Terence’s behalf?

Darren said, “This isn’t a Scumbag Alliance. I want to be with Natalie. If Terence really did betray her and she can’t forgive him, then I’d have my chance. But I’m not happy about this, because this whole situation feels incredibly strange. Angela, as spoiled and willful as she is, would never do something so underhanded. She’s decisive and straightforward. She wouldn’t do this.

“And Terence is deeply in love with Natalie. He couldn’t have done that. Putting two impossible scenarios together just makes it even more suspicious.”

Marcus retorted, “You say Terence wouldn’t do it, and you say Angela is straightforward. But they were both in that bed together. So whose fault is it? Aren’t you contradicting yourself?”
