I wrapped the bathrobe around my naked body as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I was just planning to wash away Hunter’s vomit from my body, but I took longer than I expected. I enjoyed theth so much that I totally lost track of time.
I stared at my dirty clothes, contemplating whether I should go out wearing my dirty clothes or come out of this bathroom wearing nothing underneath this robe.
I glanced up at the clock hanging just above the vanity mirror. Over an hour had passed since I stepped in here. Hunter had to be fast asleep by now. He’d been drunk out of his mind, barely conscious. What could possibly go wrong?
I let out a soft laugh under my breath, gave a half–hearted shrug, and gathered the messy clothes in my arms. No big deal, I told myself. It’s just a short walk back to the guest room. No one’s going to see.
With that, I turned the handle and pushed the bathroom door open.
But I barely made it a step before something pulled me tight.
Strong arms suddenly wrapped around me, one pressing against my lower back, the other curling around my neck firmly. I gasped, the bundle of clothes falling from my hands as I instinctively reached up to grab hold of the arm at my throat.
The robe slipped slightly off one shoulder as I froze, heart thudding wildly against my ribs.
“H–Hunter…” I called out his name as I was struggling to breathe. But his hand tightened around my neck even more. I was trying my best to remove his hand from my neck, but I failed. He was too strong. I can feel that I was about to pass out. I tried to call him out once more. “H–Hunter…”
And this time, I saw his dark eyes lightened as if he came out of his senses. He immediately loosened his fingers around my neck, allowing me to breathe freely. But he was choking me for so long that my legs weakened, and I was about to give in.
He wrapped his strong arms around my waist to support me, preventing me from falling on the ground.
“Breathe slowly…” he whispered.
I did what he said, and eventually, my breathing recovered. And now that I was able to breathe freely, my heart started racing when I realized how close we were. I can feel his warm breath fanning against my face.
My breathing slowly becomes heavy, and once again, I find it hard to breathe. Not from his hand, but from his overpowering presence.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, his tone low and cold.
“I came here to help you because you’re out of control. If I only knew that this is what I’d get for helping you, I shouldn’t have come here,” I replied, pressing my palm against his chest before pushing him with all my might.

Chapter 31
CO
He moved just enough for me to get away from him. But before I can manage to take a few steps, he quickly grabs my arm and pulls me back before pinning me against the wall.
“You are playing with fire, little dove,” he whispered with his low, deep baritone voice. Then his eyes slowly moved down to my body.
I followed his eyes, and my eyes widened in panic when I realized that the tie of my robe had been untied and part of my breast was showing.
As much as I hate to admit it, he has this certain effect on me that only he can do. I was about to tighten my robe when he grabbed both of my wrists and pinned them above my head.
“What are you doing? Let me go!” I ordered him in a panic. I felt so helpless, yet at the same time, I was excited to know what’s going to happen next.
His other hand gently held my neck as his thumb gently caressed my skin. His thumb then moved to my lips and tugged my lower lip that I’ve been biting so hard to stop myself from moaning.
He sucked in a breath, and his thumb–still teasing at my lip–lingered there a moment longer before sliding down to my collarbone. My skin prickled under his touch, heat rushing up my neck like a storm.
“You drive me insane,” he murmured, his voice low and rough.
His words sent a shiver down my spine.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not doing anything,” I breathed.
His eyes locked with mine. “Exactly,” he said quietly as he leaned closer, his hand trembling just slightly as it traveled lower, resting over my thudding heart. “You’re not doing anything, yet you can drive me insane.”
“I–I don’t know what you want me to do,” I stammered, my voice barely a whisper. My breath caught in my throat, and I could feel the wild thudding of my heart–so loud, so frantic–it felt like it might burst through my chest.
Hunter didn’t respond right away. His eyes burned into mine, dark and intense, full of a storm that had been brewing for far too long. Then, in a voice rough and low, he finally said, “Nothing. I don’t want you to do anything.”
He paused just long enough for my mind to spin.
“But there’s something I’ve been dying to do for a very long time.”
And before I could ask what, before I could even blink, he closed the distance between us in one swift motion.
He crushed his mouth against mine.
It wasn’t a soft kiss. It wasn’t slow. It was hungry. Wild. Desperate.
Like he’d been starved of me, and now that I was within reach, he couldn’t hold back another second. His hands found their way to my waist, pulling me tightly against him as his lips moved over mine with a feverish need that stole the very air from my lungs.

Chapter 31
I gasped for air as he wasn’t giving me enough space to breathe. Instead, he uses that chance to explore the inside of my mouth even further. He slipped his tongue into my mouth and teased my tongue before sucking it. It goes on for I don’t know how long until he finally decides to let go of my lips.
I thought that was the end of it. But as soon as he freed my lips, he continued to trace my jawline with his kisses until he finally landed on my neck.
I moaned loudly when he started sucking my skin until it stung; then he would release it and console it with his tongue. His lips continued to move to different parts of my skin, leaving traces of him marked against it.
My heart started racing even faster when he lowered his head even more, finding his comfort in the valley of my br3ast.
I was holding my breath as I waited for his next move. I can’t feel the excitement circling around my belly. As his head continued to move down my chest, he then started loosening his grip on my wrist. He then pulled me tighter against him with both of his hands now wrapped around my waist.
Now that my hands are free, I can already push him away. But I didn’t. Because despite me saying I don’t want him. I know for a fact that it’s a lie. I want this as much as him, or even more.
I held my breath when I felt my robe shoved aside. I felt the warm breeze of the room brushing against my exposed breast. My nipples immediately hardened. But not that it mattered since he didn’t waste time and quickly put it inside his mouth.
I let out a moan I couldn’t contain, my back arching at the sudden warmth of his lips. His mouth was hot and firm, his tongue teasing over the sensitive tip before drawing it in deeper, slowly, greedily. The sensation sent jolts of pleasure spiraling through me, my fingers tangling in his hair before I even realized what I was doing.
Every breath I took came out in shivers. My mind was spinning, caught between disbelief and need. How could something feel so overwhelming… yet so right?
He moved slowly, as if savoring every second, every reaction he pulled from me. The sound of my breathing, the soft gasps, the quiet sighs–they filled the quiet room like music only he could play.
He then positioned himself in between my legs and pushed them further. His other hand slowly traveled down until he reached the center of my femininity.
My moans grow even louder. The sensation was so much that I’m about to go insane. I couldn’t hold it
anymore.
It felt so good. I’ve never felt something like this before. With Beckett, I thought I knew what love was. But with Hunter, I have no idea what I am feeling for him right now. Could this be love? But how can I love a person I just met? Then it hit me like a thunderbolt. No matter how this felt so right, a wrong will remain wrong however you twist it.
With all the courage I have, I pushed myself to say no.
“N–No. P–Please stop,” I urged him. I was expecting that I’d have a hard time making him stop, but he did as soon as he heard me say it.
He slowly lifted his head until our eyes met. He was breathing heavily, and his eyes were dark as if he were
about to kill someone.
