Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 107

Bella

The darkness that surrounded her was familiar and warm, soft and comforting, like it always was as her eyes closed, as she settled against Parker, and her fear seemed to just start to ebb away; and now she was feeling who she’d always felt when Selena came to speak with Freya.

She was in that dark place that felt like she was home. She could hear soft rhythmic breathing within the darkness this time, and a strong, steady heartbeat which comforted her, and she felt her own heartbeat fall into sync with it, and sighed softly into the darkness that surrounded her as she relaxed completely.

A part of her wondered if it was her own heartbeat, or if it was Parker’s that she now felt and heard all around her or if there was another that she was feeling. Was this her own beast trapped inside of her, as Parker, and now she suspected, was hidden from her by Freya?

If that truly was the case, then it was no wonder that being here inside her own mind like this, buried in the darkness, felt warm and like she belonged there, as though she was wrapped up in a warm furry blanket. It was likely because she was feeling her own wolf.

Bella got a sense of disconnection from everything around her and then her chest filled with pain, and she clutched at it and cried out into the darkness as that pain ripped at every part of her. A massive snarl came from within the darkness that surrounded her, and it sounded not only filled with pain but also filled

with anger.

Then a blinding light bloomed all around her and hurt her eyes within the darkness, and agony tore through her for what seemed like hours upon hours, as that light around her slowly faded away until it was just a single thread of light within the darkness once more. Where she could see that it was attached to a wolf who was curled round her in the darkness.

That thread joined it right in the center of the wolf’s chest. And then there next to that wolf was another, who she knew to be Freya, all brilliant white in the darkness of her mind. Bella sat in the darkness looking at two wolves, one as black as the surrounding darkness; only discernible to her by the brilliance of its blue eyes. And one so white she was hard to look at.

One wolf she knew, and one she did not. Freya looked right at her even as the other wolf tried to bite Freya and rip into her. Freya was uncaring of the attack. It did not harm her in anyway. ‘This is your true wolf, Bella. Freya’s voice came to her. She wants out of you, to be free. Like you have always wanted to be. She is a Citron Wolf, just like your mother was. I bound her to me, to stop her from coming forward. Stop her and you becoming a slave to your father’s will and being treated like your mother was.

Sold to the highest bidder every super moon that came, bound by silver all the time to contain you and stop you from fleeing away. And all for his own greedy and cruel nature… Only when your wolf emerges does her powers of a Wolf of Destiny activate, you were of no use to your father or his Mate. I made sure of that. A plan they had for you from the moment your wolf emerged at just 16.

‘Parker was the way out of that place, but I could not trust him, did not know him. So I retained control to see what he was like. But I could not understand him and his ways. He was odd too me.

‘I am not Selena and without her, I only retain some ability to connect with the human counterpart of our Kind. Vex his wolf, I felt he was trustworthy and loved you regardless of not having me. But I couldn’t truly understand Parker’s desires, so I stayed with you. Contain your wolf as best I could, though once Mated, it

was unavoidable, but still had some control, stayed with you until you got your freedom from him.

‘He let you go. That surprised me… considering he saw what happened when he was mated to you, I think

understood clearly it was you that created pups. Understood what you were, a wolf of fertility. Still, he let

you go, released you and that doesn’t happen often when one knows what you are.

‘I stayed because you then needed me to, not in a true pack with the Wolfen Council. Aston is a good True Alpha. I saw this in him. His fate was terrible like yours, and he would never use or abuse any, so I started letting go of you. It was time you were safe where you were.

‘Feel what you felt, felt the rejection of Parker and his pack, but I did not let her, or you love him, because of what she is, because that rejection you and I knew was coming; would have broken her heart and ruined her, your wolf.

One filled with pain and suffering, one where, in the end, your wolf will die and so will you only to be reborn moments later without a wolf, but still retain all the memories of your life. This is how your mother lives. Secluded and afraid of those around her, but she was saved and sent away in secret.
