Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 112

Parker

He’d lost the battle of wills with Vex during that kiss, because it wasn’t just him that wanted to be close to her, it was also his beast who had a need to be close to her. They’d both wanted to hug her and kiss her the moment her eyes had opened but hadn’t been able to, seeing as Whit and Milly were there.

He’d not have cared if they’d already worked things out, would have just gotten up and done it, but they were still not there. She couldn’t be with Freya attached to her, but he’d told her everything, how he felt, even apologised for it because he couldn’t hold himself to the spot any longer.

There was just something inside of him and his beast that couldn’t be contained where she was concerned, and without Freya she had a better chance of understanding him, and maybe she might come to wanting him as well. He’d not actually expected her to kiss him back, like she had, and it had made his heart race inside his chest.

The moment his lips had pressed against hers, his beast had been up inside his mind, and when she’d parted her lips for him and kissed him back willingly, Vex had wanted control. His beast had craved her always, now was no different, it seemed. This, however, would be their first kiss without Freya stopping her from feeling anything.

Their first kiss with no contractual agreement that meant she felt obligated to let him kiss her or that she was to kiss him back. She could pull away and say no, but she didn’t. Let him kiss her and kissed him back. He wanted it to be loving and tender and thought that was what it was until Vex started to fight him for control.

Something she found amusing, and she hadn’t stopped his beast from kissing her either, Vex had kissed the bloody hell out of her. If she wasn’t in this bed and post–surgery, his wolf, he knew, would be looking to mate her right this very minute.

Parker could feel the desire in his beast, and he tried to settle his beast as he sat in that chair. He even put some distance between them, because he thought it might be needed. Better to be safe than sorry. Vex was sitting inside his mind all attention, breathing her in even, liked the smell of her. She’d always smelled invigorating to them and still did.

He sat and opened that chocolate bar and found Milly right there looking at it. “Your favourite?” he asked and she nodded. He picked her up and put her on his lap, and took a piece of the chocolate for himself

and handed her the rest. “I’ll share.” He told her and distracted himself from his wolf’s attention from

being all on Belladonna, by pretending to try and eat the entire chocolate bar while Milly held on to it.

She squealed and squirmed and wriggled off his lap to run off with it. He chuckled softly; she was adorable, and he smiled at Belladonna when he realised she was watching him play with her daughter. How she was now okay with him and how easily they were getting along. He thought her daughter had bonded with him in the past 24 hours.

Something he was happy about, because he was hoping she’d look at him like a dad at some point, was young enough to call him that as well, if he and Belladonna could come together, and they all became a family.

He ushered both Whit and Milly out of the room when he noticed Belladonna starting to get tired. She needed to rest and they were keeping her awake. He’d had Annette sit and explain to both Whit and Milly, mostly for Milly’s sake, about Belladonna needing to be in the hospital for a few days, up to seven, she’d told them.

Explained to Milly now that she’d seen her mother was alive and alright, that Belladonna would also be very tired for a few days. She’d had surgery to fix a couple of broken bones, and that was why she was in the hospital. He’d had dumbed it down a lot for Milly, but she seemed to get it.

He’d then sat down with them and brought up where they were going to stay while Belladonna was in the hospital. He and they had spent last night in her room, but they couldn’t do that every night. It wasn’t set up for that. She also did need proper rest as well, and he didn’t think she’d want him staying there either, likely to make her a bit uncomfortable.

“I’ve not discussed it with your mum yet, but I do think you should both come and stay with me… Or I should stay with you at your house. We can’t just sleep in her hospital room every night and I don’t really think it’s appropriate for me to just have someone else look after you, when I am here, and can do it myself,” he explained.

“So, the question is, if your mum’s okay with it, are you two okay with either staying with me or me living with you until your mum is given the all clear?” he asked.

Whit just nodded, but then looked at Milly. He didn’t think Whit would have an issue being that he was his dad, but Milly hadn’t been until last night. He was hoping she was going to be okay with it, and it would give him a chance to be around them 24/7 and be a proper dad to not only Whit but Milly too; something he wanted.

“If mum’s okay with it,” Whit answered him, “Better ask her first.”

He nodded “I’ll talk to her when she wakes up.”

Though he had noted she’d not been overwhelmed by emotions when she’d woken up, and there was no fear in her of falling asleep. Like there had been on the new moon. She’d yawned, and her eyes had fluttered a few times. She’d not really tried to fight it off either, which was good. Maybe now that Freya was gone and the fear of losing her was over, she’d be okay.

Maybe all that overwhelmed her was related to her losing the wolf she’d had all her life, and nothing more He didn’t think it would be a nice feeling to know you were about to become wolf–less. She’d been worried

about Freya, he knew that, stated something was wrong with her, thought maybe if Freya left her she’d also

die.

Chapter 112 2

“It’s not,” she stated, and he understood it was because that would put Whitney inside the actual Alpha Suite where he technically belonged as the heir to the pack, and he didn’t think she was ready for that.
