Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 37

Parker

He was stretching his legs after the long drive to the Hollowed Moon Pask. He’d never been here before, and it was quite a bit away from him own Pack. Several states away, in fact, a full day’s drive at thirteen and a half hours.

Everyone had been seen to their accommodations, and he’d made sure to lay down the rules for them; behaving themselves, this pack was unlike any other pack they had ever been to. A full warrior pack and highly into defending its pack members.

Carina had done her job of finding new packs to send their wolves off to, though this pack had come through a conversation between her and her father. She had asked him as the Beta to her home pack to help find good packs to visit. She had called it using her connections to broaden her pack’s mating ball spectrum.

He’d not liked the way she’d phrased it and had corrected her, their pack. She’d just looked at him and rolled her eyes, walked off. Muttering “What’s yours is mine, you know.”

Though getting her to do actual Luna duties had not been easy, she’d thought, as the Luna, she could just tell others to do what she was supposed to, Delegation, she’d called it. So she could go shopping all the

time, she’d not gotten her pack card back until she’d actually started really doing her Luna’s duties

properly.

Five months after being mated to the woman, he’d simply released their Luna Ceremony pictures to the press as if they’d just gotten married. Though she’d been very unhappy about that; not getting her big lavish human world wedding, and he’d turned her own words on her “Why do you care, they’re just human.”

He had to keep track of Carina at times, she could be more than a handful out there, and he’d pulled her from the wolfen world of modelling. She could only work in the human world.

She didn’t like other wolfen models getting any kind of preference, regardless of how long they’d been in the industry, and caused trouble, ranted and raved about who she was, and had nearly caused a bloody war once, when she shoved over a scent masked Beta–ranked wolf that was the sister of her Packs Beta.

He’d tried to pull her from the modelling industry altogether when she’d turned 24 to start a family with her. Only to have her stare at him and then state “I’m too young to have pups, and I don’t want to give up my modelling career or have pups ruin my figure.”

She had told him there would be no pups at all until she was like 40, and there had not been. He knew she’d taken herself off to see Annette before she’d even gone into heat that very first time to go on wolfen birth control. Told Annette they had very long lives, and she would simply have pups later on in life.

She was young, and it wasn’t at all necessary to produce an heir to take over what was hers. He’d thought it was time after four years together, but apparently, he was very wrong.

His thoughts were shifted as something moving at speed caught his attention, and he saw a she–wolf in dark pink scrubs running through the pack. He’d stared right at that she–wolf, and it wasn’t just him now either.

Vex was up inside his mind looking at her as well. He’d stopped walking, as they realised it was Belladonna, in a full sprint cutting through the pack.

“Belladonna?” he called out to make sure he hadn’t gotten it wrong; he hadn’t seen her eight and a half years. She turned and looked right at him. He smiled at her more than shocked expression as she too recognised him, though she didn’t stop running. Just yelled the word ‘pup‘ and moved on.

She looked good and healthy, and he understood her comment. She was running off to the hospital likely to deliver a pup. She was still doing what she was good at. That was nice to know.

He didn’t go after her. She had important things to do. He’d seen quite a few pregnant she–wolves walking about this place already, and he’d heard from Luna Mala, that they were expecting half a dozen pups over the course of the next few days, many had gotten pregnant on the last super moon.

She’d stated simply “So please excuse me if I’m not here with Aston, I’ll likely be doing Luna Blessings.”

He’d queried her about their pack doctors, he couldn’t help himself, Annette was still on him about

bringing in more doctors. Though Mala had stated “Bell is one of the best in the business, came to us

highly recommended by the Wolfen Council themselves.”

Aston had then stated, “Bell is a blessing, came to us four years ago and has been here ever since. Fits in well, is rejected like so many others here.” then he’d shaken his head “She has much in common with the pack.” It had sounded as though they weren’t going to give up their doctor, so he’d let it go.

He’d not connected the dots Belle to Belladonna. He’d not considered it would be his former Mate. He knew many she–wolves in other packs named Belle. It was quite a common wolfen name.

Now he knew it was her, his Belladonna, she was here in the Hollowed Moon. He was happy to see she was doing well. Then he wondered if he would get the opportunity to speak with her, see where she’d been before coming here.

Though even as he thought that, this pack had half a dozen pups to be delivered in the next few days, he knew she’d be living in her doctor’s office, sleeping on the couch, she would have in there, so it was

unlikely.

They’d not said anything to him, not rejected the request to have him bring wolves here either, it was entirely possible that they had no idea who he was to Belladonna. Likely still didn’t unless Belladonna had just mind–linked them about them, she’d not looked angry or upset at seeing him, just shocked was all.
