Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 87

Belladonna

She saw many people she knew here in the Lustrous Moon as they walked along the pool and Milly smiled at her and pointed out the splash zone. “Mummy, we go and play?” She asked.

“We can come up tomorrow and swim.” Bella smiled at her.

She noted that Whit walked between herself and Parker and when she looked at him, he smiled at her, she let it go, knew they looked like a real family right this minute and he probably liked that.

She felt a hand touch her arm and her eyes moved towards the person touching her. It was one of the she–wolves that had bravely left the Hollowed Moon after many years of living there. “Bell?”

“How are you, Enid?” Bella asked her.

“Good, it’s nice here.” she smiled right back. “I can’t believe you’re here.”

“Just visiting,” Bella nodded. “Parker is Whit’s dad.” She stated, using the word dad and not father, because it was what Whit himself had used when asking to come here.

“I heard.” Enid smiled. “It’s nice to see you.”

“You too.” Bella nodded, “I should…”

“Of course,” Enid nodded. “Sorry to interrupt, I just wanted to say hello.”

Bella smiled, and they moved on. She saw many people she knew, and they all said hello or asked how she was, and she took the time to greet each one of them in return. She got a lot of ‘It’s good to see you again. And ‘you look well Bella.‘ As they moved through the packhouse, on their way to the foyer once more; from those that had known her when she was the Luna to this pack.

She saw Kane and Kristy, Shannon and Nicky, Axel and Bridget all sitting in the foyer and a bunch of children around them and could hardly believe it herself. None of them had had children when she was here. But the oldest of them looked to be about the same age as Whit. She turned and looked at Parker, after he did the introduction of all the children to Whit and Milly. “They’re all 9?she asked.

“Mm,” he nodded, then kind of smiled at her, “All conceived around the time of your last…“. his eyes moved to Whit, and he seemed to think about his words before continuing on with that sentence “The week before you left.” He finished.

She only had to think about if for a moment, and realised he was trying not to say her last heat in front of Whit, though why she didn’t understand. The boy was wolfen and attended wolfen classes, understood what a heat was. Lived inside a pack since he was four.

“They’d have all been born together,” she mused aloud.

“Yes,” he nodded. “Why don’t we all go to the packhouse cafe down in the entertainment zone and get

Chart

coffee, milkshakes for the children? Let Whitney and Milly get to know everyone while playing in the kids‘

zone.”

She nodded and looked at Whit. He smiled up at her. “I’ll take Milly,” he stated, and reached out for her. She went to her brother without any issue, and he smiled at her. “You can hang out with dad, and get to know.” He looked at the rest of the adults. “Your old friends.” Then he smiled and walked off with the

children ahead of them.

She raised an eyebrow at her own son as he walked off and shook her head a little, but it was the shocked expression on Parker’s face that caught her attention. She watched him shake it off and smile, knew it was the word dad. His eyes met hers, and she smiled. “It’s not the first time I’ve heard that word from him. It is yours though, I can see.”

“It is” Parker acknowledged, “It feels really nice, to be honest, to hear that.”

“I think being so patient with him, was the key.” Bella stated “Thank you for doing that, by the way.she told

him, it wasn’t something most Alpha’s W

do, and not something she had expected from him, herself.

A part of her had been expecting him to yell and rant and rave, make demands constantly, like that first moment he found out about Whit. But not once, bar that initial confrontation, had he done that. Even now, here inside his own pack, he was being polite and respectful and not just to Whit but to herself, as well.

She sat with everyone in the café and chatted. There were a lot of questions from his unit’s Mates about where she’d been, if her life had been good, where she had gone to after leaving the pack, and they moved from the café to the dining hall at dinner time, and she smiled at Milly. Who was still walking about with Whit, holding his hand, it was nice to see she was settling in.

She got quite a few comments about Milly and how pretty she was. She was getting along with the other children well already. Bella put that down to Whit not only being there but happy to interact with them as

well. Likely if he wasn’t, neither would Milly.

None of Parker’s unit’s Mates asked about who her father was, and she put that down to them having some knowledge from their own Mates about her having bled Milly to her. Though they all commented on the good sibling bond they could see between Whit and Milly, and she smiled. “He’s a kind soul,” she

stated.

“Takes after yourself then.” Kristy smiled.

“Mm, only about 80% of the time, I see Parker in him more and more as he grows up. Wait until you see him frown, annoyed about something. Or look at you with that ‘What?‘ expression. That is all Parker, and he does have a temper.”
