Chapter 124
(Creed)
“Zane, Zane on the wall. Tell me who’s the prettiest mama of them all.”

This was exactly what I missed. This lightness. The smile that would automatically curl my lips each time Elianna would say or do something out of the blue. At the moment, she was sitting in front of the vanity mirror. Our son was standing beside the wall near her while staring at her as she prepared for tonights gathering.
Elianna often said the craziest things and anyone would let it pass because of the sparkle in her eyes.
“Don’t be shy now, sweetie,” she added as she repeated her words after combing her hair. “Say it.”
“Mam-ma,” Zane answered with hearts in his eyes.
Elianna giggled as she put down her hairbrush and peppered the little guy with kisses, making him chuckle. He was a simp. I wondered where he got that. Zane made himself her little shadow ever since she woke up three months ago. He would often pluck roses from her grandma’s garden and would give it to his mother. He would steal Aramides’ gifts for Eloise and would bring them to Elianna, making their blood pressure rise each time although the little thief usually got away with it with a
smile.
And then there was his mother who would smile just as sweetly and their little crimes would be forgotten in an instant. The power the duo had on people was pretty massive and dangerous. Elianna was trouble on her own. Together with our son? They were the perfect recipe for disaster.
“Don’t look at them like you don’t bring trouble yourself,” Aramides said as he watched the duo beside me on the doorway.
“I don’t.” He switched his attention back to me and raised his eyebrow. “Fine. Maybe I do. A little.”
Aramides still looked far from convinced. “Everyone has been talking about the dangerous trio these days.”
I shrugged. “I don’t know. I haven’t heard.”
“Well, there are reports about this trio’s family trips in different realms and anyone who looked at the woman from their little group was found unconscious in the streets.”
“Lies. None of them were just looking at my mate. They were ogling, stripping Elianna with their eyes. I only used a little bit of mana. It was not my fault they passed out from fear.”
“Creed!”
“They are alive, Uncle. I don’t see the problem there.”
“Now tell me again that you aren’t trouble yourself,” Aramides responded, shaking his head. “That is not how I taught you to treat others, son.”
“Says the man who shifted into a wolf and bit the hell out of the guy he was jealous of while he was guarding someone who visited the human realm.”
Did he think I would also not hear about his recent activities? Eloise sometimes told me things. And then there was Alistair who happily supplied me with every information in and out of the dragon realm. That came with a price though Sometimes, a company share, a brand-new car or property that the old fucker did not even know how to maintain. Nevertheless, his information was reliable.
I needed Alistair to keep being his annoying and intrusive self to know the ins and outs of the dragon realm especially since there were talks about Jacques Rosewood’s retirement. Anson had no plans of taking over, he was busy with Aurelia, his new- found obsession. After centuries, he had finally found the benefits of being with the opposite sex, while Eloise’s tamer powers were weakening significantly which made her unsuitable for the throne. Not that she wanted to. She would rather paint than be bothered to rule.
Their youngest dragon tamer, on the other hand, had shown her brains, skills, and heart with the war against Hugo’s offspring which earned their respect. She had shown she could lead. I knew their council was just biding their time, waiting for Elianna to be ready to take on the responsibility.
If truth be told, I wanted to monopolize her by myself. It had only been a few months since she awakened. Zane and I needed more time with her.
But keeping someone like her all to myself was excessive greed. She had a heart fit for ruling, a heart that I knew would never be corrupted no matter what difficulties she encountered and that was what any realm needed. A strong and compassionate heart like hers. There was a storm inside her veins. She had excellent skills and an unshakable power which everyone deemed would go on a waste if she would stay at home They wanted Elianna to be the Queen. I knew I could find ways to stop that if I could but even I could not deny it.
Even without the formalities, even without the crown on her head, my mate had shown that she was already the queen, especially during that dinner she organized, impressing the council. Through that dinner, she weeded out the traitors with
her blood alone.
If Elianna were to come to me and tell me she wanted to rule, I knew I would not be able to say no. Not to her.
That’s why while we still could, I took her out on dates, we went on trips as many times as possible, and while she was focused on our little boy, I made sure no one could destroy our family time.
