About the omega protection implementation?” I asked Shanty without looking at her. I signed the necessary documents needed to implement what we had just agreed upon. I had no doubt that the Alpha King would agree to this, not because he was forced to comply, but because it would benefit his people. ‘ey already had officers that took charge in the welfare of omegas, but having the law signed about it would ensure their protection against the likes of Hugo and Dale, that there would not be other victims like me, mom, and Lizbeth out there
In fact, it was Lizbeth who brought this subject first, saying that he council was still considering the rule about omegas since the packs, especially the alphas, were apparently offended by it,hinking that the current Alpha King was underestimating their capabilities to protect their own omegas, never considering what those omegas without alphas would feel, the same way with the mages.
Aurelia may have become the queen because of the dragons’ backing in the past, but if not for them, she wouldn’t have had the chance to rise to her position despite her talent and power. I fact, men were threatened by her and wanted to stop her at all costs. That news came from Uncle Anson himself. But he saw her and believed in her gift. That’s why the dragons descended and announced their support to her decades ago which was probably the reason why Aurelia had so much faith in the dragons.
Even now, in this modern world, there were still men who thought with their dicks, whose mindset was still trapped in the past where women were not given equal chances and opportunites, who believed that women should just remain at home, particularly in their bedrooms.
All women deserved to feel safe regardless of their secondary genders: may they be betas or omegas, pregnant or not, mated or unmated. And I was really glad that the men I was now surrounded with shared the same belief. They deserved to be respected for their talents instead of being caged or shunned away.
That’s why Aurelia and me becoming rulers had given hope to the women. I knew because I kept getting several gifts and letters of gratitude and appreciation from kids, teenagers, and women. Under the new law, women who wanted to become soldiers and officers in all the realms would be encouraged and supported at the same time. There would be academies for people who were less fortunate to help them fulfill their dreams especially for women. Through this, their wings would spread and they could raise their chins when facing anyone without feeling humiliated because of their status.
I could still recall the proud smile Creed had for me when I first brought this up. He believed and fully supported the idea and told me that if anyone were to speak against it, all I had to do was give him the names and he would take care of it.
Of course, I didn’t want it to end like that. I wanted to avoid conflicts if I could. The dragons, the mages, and the wolves had sworn their loyalty to me on the day of my coronation. They know I would interfere with some of their laws, and this was one of them.
By tomorrow, this would be presented to all the rulers. And I was positive that with my uncles behind me and the Alpha King, this would go as planned. Not to mention that I would have my strongest and biggest backer there tomorrow. My husband. Even if Creed had retired and was only monitoring his businesses from home, his impact on people had never. changed. His name alone still brought fear to many.
This started as a project. A fancy dream. And now, it was so close to coming true.
The wives of the lords who also attended the conference had dearted a few minutes ago while the girls stayed including Aurelia and mom as they both studied the spell I talked to them about.
“No.” Shanty giggled, bringing my mind back to the present. “I’m worried about our husbands. I just received a text from Lou, a server in Leo’s club. I heard the husbands are planning a pup.”
“Really?” My forehead creased as I signed the last document on hy table, “Against who?”

My hand froze. I waited for the punchline, and none came, so I looked up as the girls giggled including my mom and the mage queen. I raised a brow. “Me? What did I do?”
“Apparently, you were hoarding us all by yourself. Aurelia answered as she checked on her phone. “And they are complaining, especially Anson.” Amusement crossed her eyes. “How cute and stupid.”
Mom looked like she was seconds away from throwing up. The two had become friends over the years. “Cute or stupid? just pick one, Aurelia. I vote for stupid”
Mom had become more expressive these days, more confident about herself, and more creel at times. And I knew that Uncle Aram was one of the reasons behind that.
“Cute and stupid” the Mage Queen repeated with a bright smile Let’s just call him cupid.”
We all laughed while mom looked absolutely horrified like the thought of her brother as cute was despicable. I was a hundred percent with her on this. Unde Anson was an eight-foot dragon, for mana’s sake. To refer to him as cute was simply ridiculous. Then again, I doubted if the word existed in Aurelia’s vocabulary until my uncle messed with her life and disrupted her peace.
Cupid. I shook my head as she gave a brand-new meaning to what was supposed to be a person and a god of love and desire.
If love made me open my eyes, love seemed to have an opposite effect on her. It either closed her eyes or made her blind. Poor Aurelia. Just what did my uncle do to such an amazing woman? She used to be so cool…
There was a naughty spark in Lizbeth’s eyes when she spoke. “The one I’m worried the most is my brother. At this rate, what if he starts a war just to get your attention?”
“Well, you are all here with me today to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
I was truly never alone because everyone assisted me with all the paperwork. Right now, the girls helped to ensure that after tomorrow, I would have a two-week off so I could spend it with my family. My schedule would also become lighter after that with all the workloads being divided once the people I hired started their jobs.
The first four months and a half was just challenging. I knew it was testing my husband’s patience. I just wanted to be personally involved in the site inspections so I would know where to start while learning the ins and outs of this new world. also had to work overtime because I was testing a spell that could possibly cure my eyesight although I hadn’t informed Creed about it yet. I wanted to be sure that it would work before I told him anything. I didn’t want him to hope only to be disappointed in the end because I knew that if the spell failed, he would be the most frustrated about it.
The spell seemed promising. If things worked as planned, by the end of the year, Creed wouldn’t have to keep worrying about me not seeing the colors. I knew I’d been unfair to my son, especially to my husband lately, but I was going to make it up to them starting tomorrow.
As soon as the presentation ended, I’d stick to Creed like glue whether he liked it or not although I was sure he would. I suddenly giggled when I remembered the conversation I heard last night
*Is mama coming back soon?” Zane asked.
‘Of course, buddy. You missed her? Me too.
‘Missed mama,’ our sweet little sunshine replied.
My heart melted. The duo acted like we didn’t see each other every night.
‘I get it, buddy. Daddy’s been deprived these days.”
‘Prive?’ Zane echoed innocently.
