Chapter 14
Chapter 14
(Creed)
“No way. The human bit you? And you let her? How strange,” Dale exclaimed upon seeing me stride towards the car. His eyes remained focused on the mark around my finger which for some reason, did not disappear. It was easy to spot. They could smell Elianna’s scent on it.
Vicious tried to tickle me with her teeth and if she heard how little it affected me, she would probably go back and bite my entire hand to salvage her pride. A personality worthy of her nickname.
“Elianna is something else, isn’t she?” Dale asked, now amused, as he started maneuvering the car.
‘Something else’ was putting it lightly. She was rebellious. Wild. Extremely talkative. A troublemaker. A bad liar. A headache. All the things I didn’t need in my life.
She also had a fierce spirit and a tongue so sharp it could slice a soldier’s confidence. Unfortunately, that tongue belonged to a mouth I wanted to consume. That spirit belonged to a woman who eyed me like I was a monster and still got drenched for me like I was her lover.
“I’d never met a woman who could talk to you the way she does. Even Lizbeth and Bridget have limits. Anyway, how was your first night with your mate?”
“Crazy. Reckless. Messy.”
I could not think of better words that would fit her and our situation than those three.
There was more. I had been starving since I found her. It was like being presented with a very delectable meal twenty-four- seven and not being able to eat it. I only had a taste. And it certainly was not enough for me or my wolf.
Dale laughed. “Right.”
I stared outside the window, particularly at the second floor of my beachfront property, where Vicious was sleeping. When I left the bed, she stirred and hugged the pillow I used last night. Lizbeth and her friends came with Dale to watch over Vicious although knowing my sister and her squad, I still doubted if having the four of them together was a good idea.
“Did the King tell you why he wanted to see me?” I asked after some time.
“You weren’t answering his calls, Creed.”
I was busy researching about the only human I allowed to call me by my name and still preferred to use ‘Mr. Black, challenging me, tempting me with her wicked mouth, and making me hungrier than I’d ever been.
“Apart from that, did he tell you what he wants? Didn’t you personally send him my complete report regarding the project?” “He said he was glad you found your mate although he looked very disappointed when he heard she’s a human. I’m guessing His Majesty wants you to get rid of Elianna.” He paused upon seeing me narrow my eyes. When I chose not to comment on that, he added, “You kept glancing back, Creed. Are you worried that your sister and the other girls would do something to your mate?”
“Worried? Not at all.” I leaned on my seat and smirked. “It could be the other way around, Dale. Vicious only seems to behave when she’s asleep.”
“Vicious, huh?” he teased, his eyes dancing with pure mischief. “So, both of you are on nickname basis now? That was pretty quick.”
Vicious would rather bite her own tongue than call me by my name. Dale did not have to know that though. “You don’t mind that she’s a human?”,
He shrugged. “I don’t mind that she makes you human. The Moon Goddess must have put her in your life for a reason. Who are we to question that? Besides, the world is changing. Wasn’t the King’s mate a non-shifter as well? She may be a mage, but the point is, the two of them were perfect for each other. She was devoted to His Majesty until her last breath.” My voice was rough when I spoke, “Her Majesty didn’t belong to a race that betrayed and murdered shifters, Dale.” “Elianna wasn’t one of the murderers, Creed.”
“You are suddenly singing a different tune, Dale. What did you see in her? Silver?”
Only selected shifters possessed a rare gift. Dale was among the lucky ones. He could see auras, a gift he inherited from his ancestors. Black for people who cannot be redeemed Cray was common, it was the usual color for shifters, for people who stood between light and darkness. Silver to Successfully unlocked!e seen in children these days. Blue for the kind and compassionate beings. Red for vindictive. Joe Colors on a wille to see. And he didn’t mention seeing one in her the first night we saw her.

“I saw the color at the gala, but I didn’t want to believe it at first. I had to ask my ancestors about it and I also had to confirm it, so I went back to your house yesterday.”
“And?”
Dale met my eyes through the rearview mirror. “It was something even my ancestors did not see before, Creed.”
“Why? What color was it?” I grinned. “Red?”
Red suited Vicious best.
“Believe it or not, it was gold, alpha.”
The smile faded on my lips. “When was your last eye checkup, Dale? After this, you can have the whole afternoon off. Take a break or consult a doctor.”
“My eyesight works perfectly fine, Creed. You know that. The color of Elianna’s aura spoke a lot about her. Not to mention that gold means blessed for the mages. Also, the fact that Elianna hates her husband already makes her smarter and more credible than most humans.” A huge grin spread across his face. “The girls told me all the things she imagined doing to Richards. She’s like a rogue. Untamed. Cynical. But who knows? She could change once she belongs to a pack.”
Vicious belonging to a pack? I couldn’t see that. Not yet. Maybe it was because I was not sure what to do with our situation yet. At the moment, what I could only see was one thing.
Vicious belonging in my bed.
Silence filled the car. Both of us had fallen deep into our own thoughts. Mine was filled with just one face. Vicious’ flushed cheeks and the way her naturally red lips parted last night while I touched her, the way her pale ears and neck turned red as well while she struggled not to give in. The sound of her gasping echoed in my ears. The lust in those dark brown eyes and the way her wavy blonde hair was spread across the pillow. All of it was not easy to forget. She was vulnerable one moment and then would pretend to be fierce the next moment and it worked.
The next thing I knew, Dale was already parking in front of the hundred-year-old castle that stood the test of time. The people lowered their heads to acknowledge my presence as I passed by and trailed after the butler. We sauntered through many hallways until we reached the double doors leading to His Majesty’s throne room.
“Your Majesty, Lord Creed Black is here to see you,” the butler announced.
“Send him in.”
The guards opened the doors and closed them as soon as I entered. The King was sitting on his throne while I stood a couple of meters away from him.
“Greetings, your majesty.”
He nodded. “I am disappointed. You have been quite busy with your human companion, Creed. However, I cannot let this continue. I cannot allow Elena to continue living in our territory. Humans cannot be trusted. End things with her as soon as possible.”
That was a command, a royal one.
“Her name is Elianna, your majesty,” I answered, my hands clenched behind my back. “You are right. I’m not sure I can trust her. I’m not sure she won’t run away when she finds the chance, that she won’t stab me in the back.”
His eyes lit up. “See? I told you-”
“But I believe that is solely because trust is earned, your majesty. And Elianna and I haven’t done anything to acquire each other’s trust yet.”
I was also not sure why I was saying these things when I sounded just as skeptical while talking about Vicious during the drive here. It did not feel nice hearing her get judged in front of me by the man who I respected and considered as my second father
Before I could say more, we were interrupted by another knock.
“Your majesty, Katrice from the House of Willers is here.”
The King looked pleased. “Good. Let her in.”
“A pleasant morning to you, your majesty, and to you as well, Lord Creed,” the woman in blue dress greeted in a melodic voice, opposite to the wildcat I had in my house, and yet, for some reason, I would still prefer hearing Vicious’ noise over hers.
With her unpredictable mouth, I wondered what she would have told the King if she were here.
I only nodded at the other guest and did not say more as I threw a questioning look at the king’s direction. It was rare for him to send someone else while discussing things with me.

“Great timing.” His Majesty smiled. “Creed, I’ve already talked to Katrice and her family. She is the one who can help you get
rid of your human problem. Greet her formally. She is the woman I have chosen to be your wife and the luna of your pack.”
