‘Boy toy!’
‘Get out of this academy, you disgusting pig!”
I knew we were going to have a problem when I forgot about the curfew at twelve midnight and all the students saw me enter the academy yesterday with Aidan and Sebastian while they were in an obligatory morning run with Satan. I spent the entire night browsing through every file inside Grigor’s office.
I heard that Aidan’s best friend slash dragon prince burned the entire auction house while there was an anonymous post on social media that a passerby heard screams in a certain abandoned building and even recorded the screams that sent goosebumps even to me who listened to it.
Less than an hour later, the anonymous post vanished. Even the profiles of those who shared the post vanished.
The power of Zane Black.
I hadn’t met him yet and I wasn’t sure I wanted to. To simply call him terrifying was an understatement. If I wasn’t present when Aidan answered his call, I might not have believed that it was him who did all that, that it was him who made thirty- three alphas piss in their pants, that it was him who shredded their limbs like they were rag dolls.
‘Someone who destroyed someone’s skull has no right to look that scandalized,’ I remembered Sebastian commenting upon noticing my reaction.
‘Is Ari listening?’ I heard Zane asked over the phone.
I blinked twice, alarmed. How did he know?
Aidan simply looked my way and fondly smiled. ‘Yes.’
You said he destroyed a man’s skull with his tiny hands? How admirable. That was a trick I used when I was around his age. It was not easy to master. Now I’m curious. Tell him I will be meeting him soon, Aidan. I feel like Ari and I could bond over burning buildings, hunting people, and comparing tricks and spells.
Aidan laughed, unbothered. ‘Ari would certainly love all that’
Ari Gray, right?’ Zane asked, no longer talking to his best friend. I didn’t respond. ‘I will see you soon.”
Sebastian glared at Aidan after the phone call. The hell was that about, Aidan? We already have enough rivals in the academy, and you want to add the prince on the list? What if he meets Ari and ends up liking him too?”
Zane will like Ari, there is no doubt about that, but not in the way you’re thinking, Sev. Just let them meet. It’s high time the two of them see each other.
They argued some more and I didn’t bother to listen. Zane’s assistant emailed Aidan with the names and aliases of the alphas in the auction house. After I got over the goosebumps about him talking to me, I compared the list and learned that there were fifty clients, including Mr. L, that we had to track down.
In just one night, an alarming number of billionaires were declared missing. Some were celebrities, artists, but most were

businessmen. It sent a widespread panic to the public. They had no idea that the Zane Black they adored and loved was behind it.
That was the current issue outside the academy.
Inside?
It was me.
After that public display yesterday, almost everyone was convinced that the Alpha Prince was playing favorites, there were even rumors that he was paying the professors to keep me around here, claiming I didn’t deserve to stay. One sight of me with him and even my classmates had forgotten how hard I worked my ass off during lessons and training for the past month.
Then again, Aidan had lost his mind and even escorted me to the dormitory even if Sebastian was already with me. I also thought that was overkill.
That’s why I really couldn’t blame the students and even all these posters and tarps. The alphaholes spent quite an effort posting them everywhere, including the bathroom. I just wished they were a little more creative about describing me. Boy oy? User? Come on. Couldn’t they think of something new?
These losers didn’t even get me a more decent photo as they scattered my pictures everywhere. The photo they all used was he one when I fell flat on my face during the first morning run when I looked filthy as hell.
My giant minions clearly hadn’t seen the posters yet. Sebastian and his pack were sent on a mission and would be back omorrow night. He said they would be hunting Grigor’s clients and that Aidan was somewhere, busy doing the same thing.
The least I could do was not disturb them when they were elsewhere, making a bloody mess and hunting the trash in the society. And so, I tried to behave. I really did.
I lined up at the counter like a good student with my food tray despite the noise from the alpha dogs who kept barking around me. I bit my lower lip to stop myself from commenting and tried not to lose it even if they were probably the ones who invaded my room and stole Aidan’s black card including all of my elixir. I couldn’t make a mess and get hurt. I wouldn’t be able to heal myself quickly without them.
I shook my head to distract myself from panicking. Where was August when I needed him? Shouldn’t he be contacting me right now? I needed a new batch of elixir. That was the only way I could last in the academy-
All thoughts in my head ceased the second somebody stole my food tray. It was alphahole number two at the club.
‘Shoo. Filthy people like you don’t deserve to be in the same place as us. Go spread your germs somewhere else.”
Before I knew it, he poured my soup over my head including my steak as the rest of the students in the dining hall laughed with him. It was alright. I could still salvage the sandwich and the steak on the floor. There was a three-second rule about food. As long as it hadn’t stayed there for three seconds, I could still pick it up and eat it. But before I could do that, the alphahole crushed my food with his foot.
“Are you deaf? I told you to scram!”
“George, if Ari tattles to Sebastian, especially the prince-”
“Don’t worry. I got this. I already told my dad about him. He said he will be speaking to the former king Terrence Beckett about that rule breaker. He will also be mailing Lord Creed Black over this. His Highness may be powerful but he’s only a prince. He isn’t the alpha king yet. When Lord Creed and Sir Terrence hear about the unfairness going inside the academy they built, they will surely kick Ari out here by themselves.” He grinned. “When that time comes, we’ll see how brave you are, pretty boy.”

I counted backwards. I started from ten. It was a technique dad taught me whenever my temper was about to flare up.
Ten…
They could send all the dragons and I wouldn’t care. They messed with my food. They needed to pay.
Nine…
I was still furious. Can I smash his skull and then just make my escape?
Eight…
My poor steak and sandwich… My food didn’t deserve this.
Seven…
I glanced at their tray. Theirs were still full. I couldn’t line up again. That was against the rule. I couldn’t go to another cafeteria and buy food. I didn’t have Aidan’s card. I didn’t have money.
Six.
My sjomach rumbled. The training session with Satan was even worse this morning. My shoulder still tingled from his bunches; my hands still throbbed from blocking some of his attacks. But I couldn’t have my lunch to boost my energy.
Five.
I glanced at the floor and then at the alphahole’s retreating back. He was still laughing together with his friends while everyone mocked me.
Four.
The noise was starting to get to my head. But the worst one was the sound coming from my stomach. Didn’t they know it was bad to play with food?
Three.
Screw it. I was still mad. Besides, if I wouldn’t do anything today, they would do this again tomorrow and the days after that.
Iwo.
I ran after the alphahole and patted his shoulder. When he turned around, my fist said hi to him. He fell on the floor. His friends rushed to me and threw punches, some I blocked, some I couldn’t because of exhaustion.
My upper lip bled, my left ear was ringing from another alphahole’s punch, my stomach hurt from someone else’s kick. And did I just get stabbed on my thigh? I saw blood and then I saw red. My eyes narrowed at alphahole number two who was now running with the dagger in his hand.
