Claimed By My Husband's Enemy novel Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Chapter 34

(Creed)

The house was quiet. Too abnormally quiet. With Vicious inside, I found it odd. And then there was the absence of her horrible choice of rock music although calling it ‘music’ was still being generous on my part since everyone else including her friends happily referred to it as ‘noise’.

I slipped out of the car and my wolf sensed nothing. At all.

The lights should be on by now including the glittering lights she bought from the market with my card last week. Vicious hated darkness so much she surrounded the house with lights so fucking bright they hurt my eyes most of the time.

I stepped inside and there was no trace of her in her ridiculous clothes. Sometimes, I would catch Vicious in her favorite costume: the white lady. She was all white paired with a thin white veil, white pearls, while walking barefoot at the shore when evening came. Sometimes, she was into black like some gothic lady from the medieval era. There were days when Vicious looked normal and days when she wore all colors of the rainbow at once. It was like she had this silent vow to be the bane of my existence all throughout her stay here. That was how committed she was.

Vicious was definitely not making it easy for me.

I remembered punishing her breasts for her stubbornness and sucking them off at the kitchen counter the first time she almost blinded me with too many colors in the house and in her clothes, shoes, and yes, in the goddamn ribbons on her hair.

I had a choice. I could always take back my card and stop her from buying costly and strange props to piss me off. Yet, I hadn’t done that. Was it because of her guts? The proud smirk on her lips after seeing my reaction to her eccentricity? The way her dark brown eyes would glisten as if saying ‘mission accomplished?’ Or the way she would say just one thing after seeing me back home?

“Black.”

That was her version of greeting. Vicious still refused to call me by my name. If she ever did willingly, that would mean she was surrendering to me.

And my mate was far from surrendering.

A proud smile curved at my lips at the thought. My girl had a spine of steel. Her ability to adapt and her resilience was growing on me whether I liked it or not.

Deep down, I could tell that Dale and the girls silently looked forward to her costumes. And maybe I did as well. That’s why I ordered Shanty to send me the stolen photos she had taken of Vicious in her costumes. This afternoon, after my job was done, I found myself staring at her photos to get rid of some of the darkness that surrounded me in every encounter I would have with the twelve families.

Tonight, her scent no longer lingered in the house which meant that she was gone for hours now. My jaw clenched. I left my phone in the car. I turned to Dale.

“Call my sister. Hurry”

Funny. This was the same house I lived in for decades. Yet, I could not force myself to get inside. Was the house always this cold? This quiet? This… lonely?

I was already moving back to the car to pick up Vicious from wherever she was making trouble when I noticed that Dale did not follow. He was on the phone, and he looked ready to throw up.

“What the hell is the problem, Dale? Where is Vicious?”

Chapter 31

“Creed, alpha, you need to calm down first. Your sister… I’m sure she has her reasons why she did what she did.”

“Where the fuck are they?”

My wolf glowered at him. His beast cowered before me. His shoulders slumped before giving in. “In prison.”

During the forty-five-minute break, Dale informed me about the situation. Leo and Candice’s family members called and reached out to me, apologizing nonstop about this bloody mess. I did not say a word. I could not.

I had to see Vicious first. Check on her first. Hold her first.

That was the top priority.

Everything else would be handled after I saw her condition.

Dale cleared his throat. Worry was etched in his eyes. “Alpha, I’m sure Lizzy has already found out the truth by now. I bet she is already regretting her actions. Please don’t be too harsh on her when you see her-”

“Shut. The. Fuck. Up.”

He stopped at once. The fear in his gaze intensified. Lizbeth could speak for her damn self. Dale was still parking the car when I jumped out of it to get to Vicious as soon as possible. My jaw clenched when I reached the filthy third floor.

The girls were there. Finn as well.

Lizbeth was on her knees. I walked past her and cussed as soon as I saw Vicious. For the past weeks, I did not even let a damn mosquito lay its filth on her skin and yet, my sister put her here and did this to her.

“Creed, I’m so sorry-”

Lizbeth stopped when she saw me raise my hand. She trembled as she closed her eyes, waiting for my verdict. But at the last second, I was able to control myself. I had never hurt my sister, never been tempted to do so in all the years I raised her. I had been very patient with her, especially after she had become a single mother. I gave everything she wanted, understood all her actions, including this situationship she had going on with Dale.

But this?

How could I forgive this?

“My mate trusted you, Lizbeth. Elianna wouldn’t go anywhere with me easily. But I bet she went with you without questions. And you attacked her. Behind her back. You did not even have the decency to confront her first.”

“I know. I was wrong. I panicked. I was so afraid. What happened to my daughter came back to me. And I lost my sense of reason. The soldiers would have done the same if they see-”

“The soldiers are not you, Lizbeth. They did not get to know Elianna the way you did. I thought I raised you better than

that.”

She sobbed.

For the first time, I did not reach out to her despite seeing her tears. I ignored her and carefully lifted Vicious, my wolf howled in pain upon seeing her head injury.

“Creed-”

“You are banned from entering my house from now on, Lizbeth. You are not allowed to leave your manor without my permission. Do not contact my mate again. I don’t ever want to see you near her again, do you understand?”

“B-but-”

Chapter 34

“Do you fucking understand?!”

“Y-yes,” she whispered brokenly. “I’m so sorry-”

“Your apology would not make Elianna open up to us again, you fool. Because of you, she will want to run from us again.”
