Chapter 59

(E30

“Look at that brat glare at me as if I did not help raise him. How ungrateful. And all this because I took you away from his grip.”

Maybe I was a brat and a little ungrateful too because even when the King was complaining about Creed, a wide smule will stretched across my lips.

Uncle spun me around the dance floor before studying my face with amusement. “Blink twice if my godson forced his pheromones on you. Elianna”

I giggled, something I didn’t think I would be able to do in front of the most important man in this realm. But something seemed to have shifted between us after he told me the truth about dad, especially after that hug we shared. The air between us became lighter.

Emma was over the moon after hearing about it Recently, during my castle visits, she’d been coming out of her room more often to join me for lunch which made the King happy although he still had a hard time expressing it. Their conversations were still strained, but at least they were sharing a meal lately.

Now I totally understood why I felt a strange connection with Emma. She was my cousin. Although as to why I felt the same with Prince Terrence when we were not related by blood was something I was still curious about.

“Nothing to worry about, uncle. Creed asked for my consent. I guess he was worried that the guests might make me uncomfortable. He did it so no one apart from you and Emma would get too close to me. It’s his way of protecting me although I guess he put too much of his pheromones that’s why the guests are uncomfortable.”

“Uncomfortable is putting it mildly. That borderline obsessive godson of mine is terrorizing everyone in this party. Do you know that the werewolves can smell one’s emotions through pheromones? And the smell he enclosed around you reeked of threats and ownership.”

Ownership. A word I would normally hate.

With Creed, it didn’t feel wrong. If anything. I think I liked to be owned. Only by my beastly billionaire though

Creed was clearly not a fan of gatherings, especially of the situation where the welcome party was currently being watched live by all the people in the realm. He didn’t like the idea of others watching me. I saw how he restrained his temper upon hearing about it.

If knowing who you are means there will be more people in this realm who will come for you in times of trouble and protect you to earn your favor, then so be it,’ he said last night grimly as if he still hated the idea of others seeing me.

You’re not worried about any of them hurting me?

Unless they are members of the Association which I had already taken care of for good this time, they would not do anything to you, Eli, especially now that the Alpha King will be introducing to you tomorrow as his precious niece. Not to mention that they will be scenting me on you. One whiff of your smell and anyone who has a wicked intention towards you will know not to push through it unless they dream to be fertilizer

The King refused to say it, but the main reason why Creed’s pheromones were around me was because unlike the first party we went to, we’d had sex. He’d been inside me so many times last night that even I could smell his scent in me, ensuring other people would get the message, and I liked it. I liked how unhinged he could become because of me.

It was not the hundreds of guards that made me feel safe after all the ugly encounters I’d had with the shifters. It was Creed’s pheromones and the possessiveness behind it. It was the reason why I agreed to this party because I knew I’d be wearing his scent throughout the night. Smelling him comforted me, lessened my anxiety, and made me feel protected the whole time the King was introducing me to a bunch of strangers.

Half of the reason why I loved the idea was because I was secretly just as possessive, because it meant that other women could also smell me in Creed. He smelled of florals, particularly of jasmine, a body scent I didn’t think I naturally have until I came here and my sense of smell became sharper, and I’d smelled it myself. It was a major contrast with his personality, with who he was, and yet, he wore my scent with pride and with enough madness that matched mine perfectly.

When I looked at Creed’s spot on the second floor, I caught the dull look in his eyes as he scanned the hall, his expression was almost mechanical. There he was. The kind of alpha everyone knew who seemed sick of the world after living through it for more than a century.

But the second our gazes clashed, the boredom in his face had changed in an instant, and the alpha I knew made an

appearance.

Intense. Hot. Lust and yearning mixing in his gaze.

Creed was in a place that was easy for every guest to see. That was probably why I was not the only one looking. There were more of us, women in particular, eyeing him with hunger, like they would do anything for a taste. I understood the sentiment. My heart still missed a beat at the sight of him in his impeccable tuxedo.

But when his wolf snarled at the women, they quickly looked down.

Game over.

A naughty smile curled my lips.

When the dance was over, with enough nudging on my part, the King walked to Emma who attended a party for the second time this year, surprising the guests again. This time, she was staying longer. I saw how the King offered his hand; his granddaughter frowned at it first before taking it. For a while, it looked like only uncle was talking while they danced until they seemed to have found a subject that she liked which made her start responding with more enthusiasm.

“Thank you, Eli,’ the King mouthed after glancing my way, looking relieved.

I gave him a thumbs-up and looked at Creed again. He was no longer on the second floor. I decided to freshen up in the rest room first before finding him but when I opened the door, he was already standing outside.

“Creed-”

His mouth came down hard against mine. “I want to smoke, Vicious.”

His own code.

My throat went dry.

Each time the temptation to smoke would come to him, he would undress me and suck on me anywhere he touched first whether it be my chest or that aching spot between my legs. Most of the time, I had a feeling it was just an excuse. He didn’t seem to be missing his cigarette so much each time he would suck on my most sensitive flesh.

Dale said his alpha boss would only smoke whenever he was feeling strained, something I doubted whenever we were home. But not tonight.

“Why would you smoke? Are you stressed?”

“Just jealous. Hundreds of men eyed what is mine tonight. I didn’t like it.”

And then he pulled me into one of the rooms which turned out to be a library. He locked the door and pressed my back against it before he bent his knee on the carpet and slipped his head inside the hem of my black ballgown.

I felt his teeth grazing against my panties. The back of my head smacked against the door as he yanked the tiny fabric to one side before blowing hot air on my throbbing flesh. “Creed!”

As if to punish me, he bit my clit, making me thrash and moan with abandon.

“Unless you want everyone to come in this room and find me smoking down here, I suggest you stay silent, your highness.”
