Chapter 61
Chapter 61
(Creed)
Vicious struggled to restrain her giggles as I pushed her into a dark corner and hid ourselves from the guards who were searching for us. They were tracking us with their wolves through our scents which I covered.
Vicious looked thoroughly and happily fucked. In the end, I could not resist just tasting her. I bent her over the only mahogany table in the library and fucked, no, I should refrain from referring to it that way. I made love with her.
The combination of our scents between her legs was so potent that it was physically painful to remove myself from her. There was no way I would let them get a whiff of her scent like this. It would drive the men crazier the way it did to me.
Unable to track anything, the guards went in the opposite direction without checking further in the dark. This would not do. Tomorrow morning, I would inform His Majesty that the castle guards needed more training. It was not safe for Vicious to keep visiting the castle with their lax security. I would send my pack to train them.
I was still planning their rigorous training in my mind when I caught Vicious staring at me with a sparkle in her eyes that I swore were not there forty days ago, the same sparkle I often saw in the mirror when I looked at it these days.
Vicious sank into my arms. I automatically wrapped my arms around her waist and swallowed hard after seeing her exposed throat where alphas marked their mates. My canines ached. I had not broached the topic yet. Her divorce was still being processed in the human realm, and she had just freed herself from her tormentor for years.
Marking was sacred and permanent unlike the marriages in their realm. Once I buried my fangs in her soft skin, she would be branded for life as mine. The mark was more valuable than the humans’ wedding rings. When shifters gave their mark, whether werewolves or dragons, it was eternal.
I wanted Vicious to enjoy her newfound freedom. I knew how badly she dreamt of it. I did not want to put a pressure on her although she was unconsciously exposing her slender throat more often these days a signal that her body was ready for it. Physically, she was ready to be claimed. Mentally and emotionally, I was not a hundred percent sure.
Without the mark, Vicious and I appeared like any ordinary couple. Despite the two of us being mates, through the eyes of the outsiders, we were still temporary. That’s why I surrounded her with my pheromones and wore her scent. It was for those who could not understand my reason for not putting my mark on her yet. They needed to know how serious I was, how committed I was to this relationship, and to ward off the alpha visitors who assumed and fantasized that the princess was still a fair game.
“Damn it, Black. I don’t think I can come anymore,” she rasped when I bent my knee on the cold floor.
Every now and then, the nicknames we branded each other still slip from our lips. Black was not a nickname, but she made it sound like one each time she would use it to tease the hell out of me, paired with that sugary smile on her lips.
“On the contrary, I think you still can, Vicious. But I would be damned if I would risk anyone seeing you come for me in this place,” I murmured as I lifted the hem of her gown again although not for the wicked reason she was thinking. I removed her shoe that was so pointed it could probably kill a man. I placed her foot on my thigh.
“What are you doing?” Vicious asked, aghast.
Behind the plants, I pulled out a medium-sized box. She gasped upon seeing what was inside. It was a pair of red sparkling sneakers with her favorite brand that I got from the human realin during my last visit.

I replaced her high heels with sneakers.
Vicious would not admit it, but I had been observing her all this time. Despite being used to the runway and parties, if it was up to her, I knew she would still opt for comfort over style. With the way her chocolate-brown eyes glistened, I knew I made the right call.

Chapter 61
“Do you like them?” I asked after planting a kiss on her knee.

ELF Jelenara!
“Are you kidding me? Of course, I don’t.” I raised a brow. Her statement was very contradictory to her expression right now “I don’t just like them. I’m in love with them! How did you get them anyway? These shoes are not supposed to be out in the market yet. I knew because I’d adored them since the first time I saw them online. I was hoping that Emma and I can shop for them once they’re out.”
“I have my ways.”
Vicious was always stunning, but right at this second, she was shining; it was almost blinding.
“You got the perfect size and my favorite color.”
“I know.”
She took her foot off my thigh, stomped her new sneakers like an excited little girl, before pulling me up and I let her. She pulled my head for a kiss which I would never decline, not in a million years.
“I love you, Black,” she murmured softly.
“And I am still tragically and foolishly yours, Vicious.”
This time, I was the one who pulled her for a kiss. If not for the roaring which I was certain was coming from the Alpha King, I would not have ended it yet. She rewarded me with another giggle, the kind I did not want to share with others, only her family members. Men outside should not see her this happy, they should not hear her laugh this freely. Otherwise, they would all be a threat to me.
Because I was sure she would capture their hearts the way it did to mine.
Hand in hand, we walked past the arched hallways although Vicious stopped upon seeing her own life-sized portrait on the wall beside Princess Emmanuelle. Her eyes widened.
“Holy shit. I really am a princess now,” she exclaimed after seeing her name and rank below the portrait. “It still doesn’t feel real to me.”
The fact that Vicious went along with His Majesty’s plans and agreed to this welcome party already meant that she was considering staying. The things that she once put in her luggage were now back in her closet. And that was enough for me. For now.
“You are not required to be anybody, anyone who will tell you that will have to deal with me, Eli. Remember that. You just have to be you. The fearless, sometimes sadistic and unapologetic version of you.”
Any sign of hesitation in her face disappeared. “Really?”
“Yes.”
When we returned to the party, the guests had gone quiet although I knew their ears were on us.
“What happened? What took you so long?” The King asked his niece after shooting me a glare full of warning and
accusations.
Vicious nervously flicked her hair. “I’m sorry, Uncle. I needed a time out,” she said before I could answer as if she was worried of whatever that may come out of my mouth. How offensive. “This is all new to me, uncle. Everything’s… overwhelming,” she confessed. The King and I detected the sincerity in her voice. “Thankfully, Creed was gracious enough to be with me and help me calm my nerves.”
The Alpha King looked like he wanted to interrogate me but backed off in the end as if he did not want to ask what I did to calm Vicious’ nerves. A wise move. It would be difficult to lie to him when I could still taste his niece in my mouth.

Hooked around, scanning the place like I was trained to when I noticed that the men were no longer looking at Vicious’ face. Now that they could not scent us, their focus was on her unmarked throat.
Including the man that I was not expecting to see in this party, especially in this realm. He wore a hood, hiding most of his features and was standing several steps away from us, but I would always recognize the face of the son of a bitch who put a ring on Elianna’s finger first.
The fucker waved at me and mouthed, “I hope you had a good time taking what isn’t yours. And I hope you made the most out of it because very soon, I will come for Elianna and retrieve her, Black. You should have researched me harder. I don’t give up on my possessions easily.”
