Chapter 63
Chapter 63
(Creed)
Target found.
Richards was trapped between the hundred soldiers and me in the deepest part of the forest near the castle. It was either he was using some witchcraft or there was a witch backing him up. That was the only way he could enter the borders without being detected and shot at once.
Richards’ little witch must be a novice just like him. Anyone in this realm knew that I could detect mana. I trained the warriors in my pack to do the same to avoid falling victims to the witches. It was the reason why we were able to hunt him down even if he was quick and invisible to the naked eye.
Richards’ body tensed as he glanced around us. Buckets of sweat trickled down his face.
No one threatened me and lived through it. No more words were needed. Adrenaline coursed through my body as I leaped into the air and shifted, my pack relinquishing their human forms behind as we advanced as one.
I got to him first and buried my fangs in his thigh before he shifted, freezing everyone on the spot as the realization sank in. Richards did not turn out to be a rogue or a berserker.
But a goddamn dragon.
The same wyvern dragon who had been surveying the realm for days now. Wyverns were average dragons like Lilac, they were smaller and had two legs compared to the imperial family who possessed four. They had bigger frames and wings and possessed a pure golden color. Richards was the first two-colored dragon I had seen. And I had seen many of them.
He may be a wyvern, but he was still many times larger than a werewolf.
It happened in a blink of an eye. The shifting was faster than werewolves combined. Their bone cracking was painless unlike ours. It dawned on me that he purposely brought us here to gloat. His long, dark pointed tail easily swept the castle soldiers, they were all tossed away in different directions.
I shifted back in my human form and yelled, “Shoot!”
One of my enforcers threw a gun in my direction. I caught it and rode Dale’s wolf who easily understood what I wanted to do. He ran full speed. All the bullets were effortlessly blocked by his wings as the bastard flew higher. When I found a chance, my beast linked with Dale’s, making him stop at once as I aimed at Richard’s leg. This time, the bullet sank through his skin.
The dragon made a furious sound before spitting fire in our direction which Dale and I were barely able to evade as he leaped in the opposite direction while I rolled over. The trees around us burned at once.
“How the heck did that happen?” Dale asked, voicing my own question as he shifted back, still looking stupefied as we both watched Richards soar even higher.
That was the reason why that scumbag was confident he could take Vicious away from me. Motherfucker had wings after all and could spit fire that could burn an entire forest. And no, the asshole was not using a backer. He did not have to. Dragons had their own mana. Their gifts had no limits.
“He joined Project X! We all saw him enter the lab as the doctors injected him with the rogues’ blood, just like the rest of them,” Dale added furiously while the soldiers gathered water and summoned our resident mage to help put down the fire.
My jaw clenched as endless possibilities crossed my mind. No wonder Richards was the only person who hadn’t lost his mind yet from the aftereffect of the project. While his kin were killing each other, he was attending business conferences, smoothly replacing his father’s position in their empire, completely taking over.

Chapter 63
62
“This is Terrence Beckett,” I heard the prince say beside me as he dialed a specific number on his phone, his expression was ominous as he glanced at the injured soldiers and the wildfire spreading in the forest. “I need a direct line to the dragon council. One of them invaded our territory and damaged our properties. Whether that may be a rogue, a hatchling, or just plain fucker with a death wish, their council needs to come down here and take responsibility”
The former Luna Queen was a mage, making her firstborn, Terrence, a hybrid although his wolf blood was more dominant that’s why he chose to reside in this realm, especially after the Alpha King adopted him and made him his heir.
Luhan, his uncle and one of the members of the mage council, was probably on the other line. Terrence avoided talking to any of the mages as much as possible since their council was wary of him, their royal family was threatened by his hybrid powers. I knew if this was not a national emergency, he would not have called and would have opted to communicate with them through the old fashion way: sending written edicts.
“The dragons cannot be commanded, Terrence. They listen to no one,” I heard Luhan say on the other line. “I don’t think my message would even get through them.”
I tapped Terrence by the shoulder and gestured to his phone. He handed it to me questioningly. “This is General Creed Black from the werewolf realm, lord Luhan. Kindly contact them, ask for Alistair Hendrix and tell them this: Creed Black wants to cash in on that favor. Right fucking now.”
I ended the call and gave the crown prince his phone back. “Whatever favor were you talking about?”
I shrugged. Alistair Hendrix was Lilac’s brother and one of the elite soldiers in their celestial realm. He caught me and his sister in the past. Their family wanted war, but their bored ruler demanded a duel because they could not be bothered to fight creatures like us. Alistair wanted to eliminate me for ‘damaging’ his sister’s reputation by being with me.
Both of us were in our human forms and the duel ended in a draw, an insult to the dragons. For werewolves, it was victory. For the dragons, it was equivalent to losing because they simply never lost to any creature lesser than them before. They were men of honor despite their arrogance. To ensure that their ‘loss’ would not spread in all realms, they made a blood pact with me and my pack who stood as witnesses to the duel.
We would never speak of their loss and in return, they would grant me one favor when I needed it one day. And that day was
now.
To keep Elianna, I would face even the wrath of the dragons.
“Alpha Creed! There is an emergency!” Silver screamed, panting, as she searched for me through the fire.
“It’s the dragon, we know,” Dale said, exasperated. “We had a face-to-face encounter with him ourselves-“
“No, not that,” Silver ran to me, looking as pale as a ghost. Her eyes were red as if she had been crying on her way here. “It’s princess Eli. She suddenly fell on the ground and lost consciousness; her leg was bleeding as if she had been shot. We guarded her like you commanded. There was no one there, no one shot her, I swear it on my family name. But she has a gun wound, alpha.” She sobbed. “There was also a terrible wolf bite found in her thigh.”
My blood ran cold as my beast roared, promising vengeance. To get to Eli faster, I shifted in my wolf form and raced back to the castle before Silver finished her report. She raced with me, riding Leo’s wolf as she added in a panic voice, “The bite was similar to yours, alpha. No, I could have sworn it was yours. No wolf bites are the same. There is a mark on her thigh that
onl
almost
SS.”
