Claimed by the Biker Giant (Maxine and Tank) novel Chapter 133

Tank POV

Today, I am in a very good mood, doubt even this meeting could bring me down. My girl gave me the best start of the day, and my brother will be home too, so what could go wrong?

The first meeting was boring, as I knew it would be. We discussed the pending attack on the Jones Gang, the report due today, some changes to the clubhouse, listened to anyone’s gripes and complaints, a party coming up, and a road trip for fun.

“How’s living next door going?” One of the members asked. What would it have to do with him?

“Great, I get to have a few hours break from you guys, ragging in my ear, and unwind a little,” Prez answered. They hadn’t asked about Blaze or me.

“You seem chirpier.” One joked, but Prez gave him the cold look, and the chuckling stopped, and the subject changed. I want to perfect that look. I thought that, as he moved to reopen the meeting for more serious discussion, when no one had any thoughts or complaints to share, Prez dismissed them.

The sound of bikes arriving has us all piling out of the clubhouse to see them arrive. All appeared to be in good health, and I was relieved to see my brother’s bike and a healthy-looking man on it. None of the guys looks the worst for wear. I am interested in hearing how the trip went.

I turned and caught sight of Fixer watching the bikes, as I turned. Was she looking at the men, making sure they were healthy, or listening to the bikes, looking for one that needed her help? It was hard to know; her face was blank, keeping her thoughts to herself. Cricket called out to Fixer, and by the tone, I was saying, Cricket was still not happy that Fixer was doing so well. I don’t know what was wrong with that girl, but since my promotion and my wedding, she been a bitch to be around. I thought it was the loss of the baby, but she doesn’t seem to be getting any better. When she thinks no one is looking, she gives Fixer grief; Fixer hadn’t been here in days, yet Cricket was still that narky girl, might have to talk to Bruiser about her. This can’t go on.

Fixer entered the room. I could tell immediately that Cricket had cornered her before she entered the room, and it would most likely have not been pleasant. Fixer was not one to make trouble; more like to end it. How long she will put up with Cricket will depend on how much Cricket gets in her face and what she says when she does. I have learned that Fixer had started to change, for the good as far as I was concerned, and if she flattened Cricket for her behaviour, I would be Fixer up in a heartbeat. No one, and I mean no one, should upset my little lady. I had a go at Prez for his behaviour against Fixer, and that has improved. Sticks had settled down a lot, and they get on really well. But Cricket seems to be getting worse. Would living here have her thinking she was the boss when the rest of us were not around? Then forgets to tone it down when we arrive? Maybe Bruiser encourages her.

“Settle,” I called out, getting the room quiet, and Fixer jumped, almost causing me to chuckle, she wasn’t used to me having to be boss, she sees me as her man, Tank, and I am happy with that, but she has to get used to the other side of my life, that was just as important to me as she was. More or less.

“Report,” I called out, and left the members to sort out who would do the reporting.

A member stood; he didn’t need to, but we don’t say much if that was what made them comfortable.

“The clubhouse appears to be in a shambles, bikes coming and going at all times, day and night, no real security, no cameras could be seen, no locked gates, it was like it was an invitation to come and attack, and because of that, I suggest caution.” He sat down, having said his peace.

“I disagree. Not the caution part, that I do agree, but the rest was not how I saw it. There were two cameras that I could find.” The screen behind us lit up, and we all turned to watch.
