Claimed by the Biker Giant (Maxine and Tank) novel Chapter 160

Fixer POV

The girls gave at least some leads to look into, standing behind them, letting them chat oblivious to us being there, was a great idea. I didn’t enjoy interrogating them, not as much as I thought I would. They were like children to me, sobbing and begging; it was sickening. I hadn’t expected them to be so fragile; they broke so easily.

I wondered how I would react under these conditions; would I fall apart as they had? Cricket didn’t surprise me; she was already showing signs of needing mental help. Her mood swings were huge. Something more was going on with that girl; none will see the light of day again. Do I feel guilty or bad about that?

Between them and Barry, Sheila and Zoey, we can link at least ten deaths we know of, who knows how many more Barry was part of. He was a sadistic B, and I am glad he’s gone; that fear was over. He can never hurt me or mine again. Also, glad I wasn’t in the room at the time; I would hate to have been his last words, it being something nasty before he took his last breath. Didn’t need to see Sheila either.

Although hearing some of how they manipulated Dad was an eye-opening experience. Dad had come to visit numerous times, and I didn’t know about it. Each time he came to town, he tried to get near me, and I was beaten for no reason. It was all a warning to him. When I was eight, I had that kitten incident. Dad was there, hiding, ready to take me. Somehow, Barry knew he had come to town, and killing those kittens was to warn him off, that Barry would always know when he was in town, and I would suffer; he even hurt Grandma at least once, I know of. I was told she had a fall in the garden, but it was Barry and his men giving my Dad another warning. At first, I didn’t get it. With all this wealth, my Grandparents could have hired bodyguards around the clock, and I wondered why they hadn’t. Then I remembered an incident at school, a beating Jenny received, which was a warning to my grandparents that he could hurt anyone we love, and wasn’t afraid to do so, I didn’t know that at the time, and was worried for Jenny, to me bullies never needed a reason, and I had to keep my distance from her, we only met in secret for a while after that. My Grandparents had many friends, loved by the town, who helped build the town the way it is now, and Barry might have hurt others, too, just to prove a point. Or maybe they had, and I didn’t know about it. The more I learned about that man and his pretend family, the more I was glad he was dead and that he died in pain. I wish he had suffered longer.

We left the girls alive; they won’t last long, and I can’t see myself getting any more information.

Time to work out our next move.

We have names of affiliated persons that Barry often used, who can be rounded up and dealt with. We shall clean up our town. We have taken one of the leaders of the black market, someone I had fought against for years with street kids, and I never knew the leaders. I feel I have avenged some of the dead street kids that his men took out. For a small town of forty thousand residents, we do have a larger-than-expected criminal element. With a Bike club in the town, you would expect it to be less, or different, but even they can’t see everything that goes on.

Tandy appeared pleased with what the others were telling him, as we returned to our vehicles, he had been a strong supporter for me, us, and he would be my alibi if something went wrong, hence him being with us today, we shall go to town, and have a meal in the popular cafe, and have people see us, sitting at the sidewalk tables. The more who see us, the stronger our alibi. Not that I expect any issues, the bodies will never be found, they will be mulched and made into granules, and taken out to sea, in the burley barrels, used on the fishing trawler. Might as well use them for good for a change, bring in some fish for the market.

We arrived at the cafe, and I sat between Zero and Tank, Tandy opposite me, talking about our meeting up with his family.

“We can do a picnic in the park, I have grandchildren who would love to get out and about, that swimming hole would be good, a place where both the adults and children can swim.” Tandy was content to chat away, keeping our minds off this morning’s events.

“Sounds good, we can have Jenny and Zero come too, they should meet the family,” I replied, having Zero look up at me, in shock.

“Where’s Jenny and Melony? Are they still here in town?” Tandy asked. Zero pulled out his phone and texted her.

“She’s still in town, buying something for our room. They will be here shortly.

The food arrived, and I was surprised to find I had no issues eating. The food smelled great, and it was plentiful. I guess, from seeing the ugly side of people and being half-starved as a kid, I learned to eat when I had a chance. We all tucked in and were almost finished when Jenny and Melony arrived; they were empty-handed.
