Tank POV
Visiting that place was not as satisfying as I had hoped. We did get some answers, but I still feel hollow inside. Even having them dead didn’t fill that hole that belonged to my parents. Fixer hadn’t mentioned how she felt, but by the look on her face, she didn’t look much better than I, both wanting some kind of closure.
We were going to meet Tandy’s family. I had wanted to meet them for a while; he had spent so much time with us lately. I wondered what kind of wife and children he had to accept him being away so much, overnight. I guess when we go out on a ride with no women, they too have to put up with us not being home, and trust we’ll be safe and not playing up. Most don’t play up, and Fixer knows I wouldn’t, not just because of my fear of hurting my woman, but also because of my size; she was the only one for me. Besides, I can barely keep up with her insatiable need. She has been trying new things, and I look forward to each and every one. At first, I didn’t want to submit. I was the man, and shouldn’t we be the ones in control, but after I let go, that first time, and enjoyed it so much, watching her expression, and she tested herself, finding what works and what doesn’t, and her satisfied look, that she had succeeded, was magic.
Walking to the car park, I was not happy to see the accountant and about ten other bikes, looking determined to cause havoc. It always made my stomach drop, and my anger rise, when I saw any of them in our town; trouble always followed them around, and cornering us like this wasn’t a good sign. I could see Prez and Blaze watching, ready if trouble happened, but I also noticed Fixer’s security had gathered, ready to intervene if necessary, giving me some comfort that if something went down, they would try to keep Fixer safe. I wasn’t worried about me. I can handle myself, and they might think twice about approaching me. Fixer looks tiny, vulnerable, and easy to think they can target her, then get an unpleasant surprise when she is not such an easy target, but I still don’t want her targeted. I would prefer her not get involved in a fight.
He shouted insults and threatened Fixer, but he couldn’t prove that what she said was any different, because he would know that Alice didn’t come back and that Cricket had instigated a split; however, I didn’t miss the fact that he didn’t ask about Zoey, or Heather, whom I thought was his favorite, possibly didn’t know she was missing as well.
Everything Fixer said was the truth. I was proud of how carefully she worded it, never once mentioning she hadn’t seen them, which would have been a lie. Yeah, my little lady was clever, and even under pressure, kept a cool, thinking head. I was so very proud of her.
Prez called and told us to get home quickly. We need to call a meeting; trouble has arrived. I was more than ready to take Fixer home and get her safe. Prez was in one of the security guards’ vehicles. I assume he was going to discuss what went down and the type of trouble that had arrived. I have a strong feeling he would love to take him to join his daughter. But we had to be careful about how we did that; the town had seen them arrive, and if we wanted to take them, it would have to be when the town saw them leaving.
The drive home was quiet, neither of us wanting to talk, and to fill the silence, I hadn’t even put on the radio, my mind too busy, already thinking up scenarios, and how we can capture this guy, he had been responsible for many deaths, whether they had the rest yet, didn’t matter, taking them in part would make me more than happy.
“Got to go, back when I can, stay safe, keep the security tight.” I gave her a squeeze and a kiss before rushing onto my bike.
Prez, Blaze, and Zero were reaching for theirs as we all started them up, the garage roaring with loud engines, rattling the walls with vibration. Together we left, Prez taking the lead. We might only be going next door, but we are fired up for so much more.
The gates opened, and we cruised in, parking close to the doors. I kicked out the stand and removed my helmet, taking a deep breath before climbing off my bike and heading inside.
The clubhouse was buzzing, with those already arrived and more coming. We needed to decide now whether to include the splinter group. It might be a good test, but at the same time, it could bite us on the bum. It will be club members vote, we do this choice together, some I am positive will be let back in, but other’s I feel they are sitting on the fence, that includes Bruiser, who had no clue what had been going on, in the past, Prez would have kept him in the loop, would have been with us for the interrogation, but with the split, I doubt Prez will ever let him in that deep again.
More bikes arrived, and the men were talking among themselves. Some had seen the Jones gang in town; others were learning of it now. There was no fighting, arguing, just fact changing hands, and it was good. The ones that would argue were in the splinter group, and it was obvious by how our club was right this moment, that we had weeded out the bad ones. Let’s hope we don’t let them back in without conditions that pertain to their behaviour.
“Hey, settle down,” I called out after Prez gave me the nod. The club all took seats or leaned against the wall, ready to hear the latest.
