Claimed by the Biker Giant (Maxine and Tank) novel Chapter 166

Fixer POV

The chopper arrived at the same time as the doctor for Sticks’ daily check-up. I was torn between meeting my new pilot and going with the doctor to see Sticks.

“Go, inspect your new transport, and I will go and ensure Sticks doesn’t hide anything from the doctor,” Jenny said, turning me towards Dirk and the landing pad.

Nodding, I walked back to Dirk, who was watching the sky for the chopper to arrive. We could hear it, but I hadn’t seen it yet.

“There.” Dirk pointed to the sky, and I followed his hand.

The chopper was not what I expected; it was huge, like, straight out of a war movie, big. We watched him land with ease. The side of the helicopter said in fancy scrollwork, ‘Zaria.’ The pilot looked busy at the chopper’s console, then climbed out, came straight to us, saluted Dirk, and nodded to me. More of Dirk’s men were behind us, watching, waiting.

“Savage, this is Ms Fixer, your boss.” Dirk introduced me after returning the salute.

Savage then turned and saluted me. His eyes assessed as he did, a smirk on his lips. I felt I should know who he was, but couldn’t place the face or why. Something is sitting in the back of my mind. “Good to meet you at least; others have been raving about you.” He greeted, his voice kind and jolly. He sounded like Mrs Astore, but in a masculine way, weird to be thinking of her now..

“Welcome to the team, can you show me our new transport?” I asked. Dirk, Savage, and I moved to the chopper.

It had two sections: the first, like most choppers, was encased in glass and seated four, two at the front for the pilot and passenger, and two behind. The back section was like something out of the movies; it could hold twenty security men if needed. It had bench seats along the walls, seat belts, and other items I wouldn’t even begin to understand, secured nearby. At the back, a fenced-off area that could hold cargo or whatever you needed and it also had what looked like a Field Medical Gurney. I had read about these. They are on wheels and can be locked in place, raised, and lowered as needed. I was glad to see it.

“It can take you to the city, with our long-range tanks, specially designed for this chopper.” Savage had been giving me specs on the chopper; it all sounded thrilling. Being a mechanic, I would love nothing more than to pull it apart and put it back together again, see how it ticked.

“Why so big?” I asked, once we had completed the inspection, and I have to admit I am impressed with this gift from my Grandparents.

“We need to have at least four security guards with you at all times, and in the big city, maybe more. You will be going a few times a month for meetings, as arranged by Mr Astore, and a few galas.” He had those smiling eyes, and they were assessing every move I made, every word I said. Comparing me to what he had been informed, or something else.

Do I measure up?

Do I care?

Nope, don’t care, he can assess all he likes, I am the boss.

“Dirk, would you like to show Savage where he will be sleeping, and then we can talk some more?” I turned and headed towards the house. I had only taken a few steps when Melony came rushing out.

“Fixer! Fixer! Help.” Suddenly, I had Dirk, Savage, and two other men at my back, ready to act.

“What’s up?” I asked, calmly. Melony was known for her dramatics.

“The doctor said we need an ambulance now, but Jenny said the helicopter would be quicker. Can we use the helicopter?” She puffed out as if she had just run a marathon; she really needs to get some exercise more often.

“Sticks?” I asked, of course, it would be Sticks, who else would it be?

“Savage, get the chopper ready, cleared, whatever you need to do, we are going to the hospital, with a pregnant woman, who is not due yet?” I rushed inside. As I left, I heard Dirk barking out orders, giving Savage the hospital’s location, and arranging men.

As I raced up the stairs, two at a time, I called Prez.

“What?” he barked out.

“Get your arss over here now, Sticks in labour, we are going by chopper to the hospital. Move it, she needs you more than the club right now!” I didn’t let him argue that the club comes first, in almost everything, but he has to put her first in this; he just goes to; I gave him the information, now it was up to him to put his priorities in place in this instance.

Sticks looked pale and in tears. Jenny was beside her, talking softly.

The doctor looked up.

“Your helicopter here?” He asked, his face laced with worry.

“Just arrived, they are getting it ready to take off.” He nodded and went back to what he was doing.

“We need to get her to the hospital now.”
