Claimed by the Biker Giant (Maxine and Tank) novel Chapter 195

Tank POV

Bruiser accepted what we offered, which was far more than I had wanted, but time will tell whether Fixer’s intuition was correct or just her soft heart. I am still on the fence, but then so was everyone else, and that was why I am backing Fixer someone had to give him a chance, and who better than us. Dirk will pair him up with a good team that won’t judge him for a mistake, unlike Stephen did. Bruiser needs help, not someone to make it harder for him.

Glad that some of the security were leaving and that Stephen was being sent away. I felt that, even though he took orders, he didn’t like getting them from Fixer.

“Uncle Simon, what’s the Stephen story? He looks down his nose at Fixer, and she hadn’t done anything to deserve his negativity.” I asked once Dirk had left.

“I noticed, and that’s why I am sending him away. He takes orders from Mrs. Astore, so he has no clue why he doesn’t like taking them from Fixer. Mind you, he only knows she’s my niece. I am sure if Mrs. Astore saw how he talks to her, she would carve him a new one.” We chuckle at that thought. Mrs. A, or Grams as Fixer calls her, wouldn’t stand for his arrogance, and Fixer was right to tell him off.

“Uncle, I think we need to put up warning notices, something along the lines of it being private property, and enter at your own risk. I don’t want lawsuits coming our way; we can put lots along the trail, a car park, several at the waterhole.” Fixer was still talking as if we hadn’t said a word; her mind was still active, trying to cover all angles.

“That’s a lot of work going on,” I add, looking at the map still open on the table.

“That it is, but once done, we should be right for a while, I think. Fixer had more in her head, but was yet to divulge them.” Uncle Simon laughed, along with me, as Fixer appeared deep in thought and missed our light ribbing of her.

“Uncle Simon, can we put an ablution block near the water hole? Here.” She taps on the map to a place not far from the water hole.

“We can, but here, a bit further back, and some stone barbecue places, and wooden tables and seats, for picnics, can get some men to make them out of fallen logs, make that area family-friendly. I had been thinking of a track we can make from this area, that goes to the waterhole, and a small carpark, it’s far enough to one side of the property, to not be seen from here, or interfere with anything we are doing, plus we can fence that area off so that no one can venture too close to us. We don’t use the river area for anything, and it’s close enough to the forest area that no one will notice; you own it all. forest and all.”

“We own it all.” Fixer corrected, looking up at him with a smile.

“No, my dear, you inherited it all; I own nothing here in this town; it’s all yours.” Uncle Simon smiled at her shocked look.

“But I thought we shared everything.” She gushed out.

“Nope, all yours, I own several businesses, you got all the land, houses, town, and who knows what else, I didn’t want to be tied to this place.” He said sadly.

“To me, you own half; nothing you can say will change my mind. We are family, and we share.

That’s how families should be.” Fixer folded her arms and stared at Uncle Simon, ready to fight him on this, and even I could tell he would lose that fight.

Uncle Simon raised his hands in surrender.

“I will treat this as my home, and share the responsibility, and still share any ideas with you, as I gain ideas.”

We talked about tomorrow and what they had planned for it. Uncle Simon liked that Fixer had talked Savage into coming into the house, and see if they recognised him. Uncle Simon had a

Uncle Simon looked at Fixer, and I waited, reaching for some salad, saving me from saying anything.

“Yeah, I have him out back doing some intense training with Dirk and his team.” Fixer shrugged. Savage had given her a weird look, too. The guys never once questioned having the security men at the table, thinking they were getting used to Fixer randomly inviting some to join us.

“Why?” Zero asked, totally lost at the idea of him being here.

“Why what?” Fixer asked, pausing to look at Zero.

“After what he did, how can you take him in?” Blaze answered this time.

“He made a humongous mistake. Yes. Why shouldn’t we give him a second chance? He live you guys his whole life and got swayed by some convincing people. He was our friend, did a the club, and the first time he did something foolish you all turned your back on him. I haven’t. won’t unless he breaks my trust. I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end; it’s not nice, and one trusts you because you believe every lie that comes your way, or because you did something so out of character. NO, I won’t turn my back on him. I haven’t promised a return to the club as a member; what I offered him was a job and a place to stay. What happens with the club has no

bearing on my decision to hire him. If you think about it, what he did was not like him. He never wanted VP, so why would he take on the Prez position if not for being pressured into it, and Prez, you said so yourself, he liked what he did, but got cornered by others to do what he did, he never planned it, he caved to pressure, from those members that followed him out the door, and Cricket.

What swayed my hand the most was you all taking back the members who talked him into doing something he would never have considered doing on his own. He was taking all the blame that was a group-organized effort put on his shoulders. Bruiser can see them being taken back and getting ribbed for not being accepted back by those who convinced him to be an idiot. You all ignore him, crossing the streets when you see him. see that as being mean and rude. I am ashamed of you all, for not at least greeting him; he’s a human, and weakened under pressure, he had even taken a bullet for you, Prez, and yet, you turned your back on him. If you don’t like him here, then move out, because he is staying, for the time being.” Fixer picked up her plate and left the room, heading upstairs to our room to eat it.

The table watched her leave, and I grabbed my plates and rushed after her.
