Chapter 314
Tracey POV
Everyone in the room was excited when we were told that Mr Dawson had been captured. It was the best news, and the story about how they found him had us laughing. I could visualise him squatting to do his business and getting the poop hit out of him. I wonder if he fell into what he was excreting; that would be funny. Can’t wait to see him in his disguise tomorrow.
“When we see him tomorrow in the cells, should we greet him as Mrs Dawson?” I asked, still chuckling at the idea of him falling into his waste.
“I like the way you think. Demoralise him some more. Before questioning, it sounds like fun, and something he deserves. It would be good to tell him that a woman thought he was in disguise and that he was travelling. That will piss him off a lot. Women are only good for one thing,” Tempest said, laughing at the thought of it all. She had been so upset by the threat of her father; an end to that man’s reign would be good for her.
Tempest was the first to notice me, almost asleep in the meeting. The important part was said,
and the rest were changes being made so that no one could reach us as this group did. Fatigue hit
me like a brick, and I was fading fast. Doom didn’t hesitate to take me to our room.
Our room.
I have never shared a room with anyone before. I didn’t with my ex; that was how he was able to cheat for so long, always an excuse not for me to move in.
But Doom was different.
He didn’t push me in any way, letting me make my own decisions, giving me options, calmly accepting whichever I chose, giving no sign that it wasn’t the one he wanted me to choose. I have never had a guy be so patient towards me; it was nice, no pressure. I think it was me who wanted more, but I didn’t know what.
I woke early, before the sun, my shoulder throbbing in pain. I groaned as I moved to get some painkillers, but Doom was on it in a flash, sitting up, turning on the bedside light, and getting the
meds for me.
“Thank you.” I croaked out, my throat dry, and I noticed he, too, had taken two white pills. He must be uncomfortable to be taking them.
“Shower?” Doom asked, Do I want to worry about that so soon? I have been washed, the blood has gone. I don’t think I could cope; I have to keep the wounds dry. Maybe tomorrow, it won’t hurt to
miss a day.
“No, need to get something to cover the wound, to keep it dry, you need the same for yours.”
Ghoto
“Nope, I have waterproof band–aids on mine. I can shower, but you might need something to cover yours. We can ask the medical team and find out what they have.”
“Tempest will know, having done something similar with her legs,” I replied, preferring to talk to Temper than people I am not familiar with.
“Good call.” Doom helped me dress, as he was already dressed, and carried me downstairs, I am not sure why he needed to carry me. I am on the mend, so to speak, not much energy, but I will manage. This shooting had taken more out of me than I had thought it would. I don’t know how Doom was still functioning after what he went through; he was made of tougher stuff than I am.
“Ah, you are up. I was going to come and get you. We are about to have breakfast and then the cells. If you don’t have the stomach for what we are going to do, you can skip breakfast or skip the cells,” Tank informed us, as we headed to the dining room. We were the last to arrive.
“Morning.” Chirpy Tempest greeted us as we entered, and murmured from around the table
