Claimed By The Mafia Don (Ariella and Asher) novel Chapter 411

ASHER

Her eyes narrowed.

“Was it a secret?” she asked. “Is it a secret that she’s back, or is it just a secret to me? The woman who brought her to the world.”

She shook her head.

“ I know people were flown over to your island for your sham wedding. I know that people who work on your estate know she’s there. It’s not a secret that you married her after the death of your ex-wife and that you live with her in your mansion.”

She looked straight at me, accusingly.

“It is not a secret. So I’m failing to understand why you think her going to that ball would be a secret. She was there with a lot of people. They all saw her. They all know she’s my daughter.”

A pause. “That’s how I found out.”

“So someone called you,” I said carefully.

She immediately stiffened.

“I’m not going to say any names.”

Her jaw tightened at my expression.

“And if you want, you can torture me. Or better yet, why don’t you just kill me so I can reconnect with my husband again?”

She looked me dead in the eye.

“That will make your wife feel better, won't it? Because what she wants is not to have parents.”

I dragged my hand over my face in frustration.

“Ariella does not want to live without her parents.”

I looked at her firmly.

“Ariella loved her father. She’s always loved her father.”

“Not enough, I guess,” she snapped immediately. “She only loved him because he moved heaven and earth to make her happy, he could do absolutely anything for her. But the moment she set her eyes on the Don’s son... on that face of yours...” her eyes filled with tears again, “nothing else mattered.”

I stayed silent.

“Not me. Not her father.” Her voice broke. “I just know you had something to do with it.”

She looked at me with so much anger that it almost surprised me.

“And I hate you.”

Silence.

“Yes, I do.” Her shoulders shook. “I don’t care if you’re the Don. I don’t care if you’re my boss....”

Tears ran freely down her face now.

“I hate you so much for all the pain you caused our family the moment you met Ariella and the two of you decided to do this to us.”

“We didn’t do anything to you,” I said quietly. “And you have no idea what Ariella went through to be here right now.”

She laughed. Not normally, not with humour. Something cracked and Something tired.

“If you’re here so I can snitch, I’m not going to snitch on anyone.” She wiped her face angrily. “Those people who told me where Ariella was told me because she’s my daughter and they thought I knew.”

Then she looked at me.

“But I do not want to see her.” Her voice dropped. “And I don’t want to see you back here ever again either.”

She pointed toward the door.
