“Over here,” I called softly.

She spun sharply, spotting me at the end of the hall. A wide, radiant grin spread across her face before she hurried over.

I caught her wrist and drew her into the exclusive corridor reserved for Godlikes. Then, gently but firmly, I pressed her back against the wall, searching her eyes.

“You’re making it far too obvious with all that restlessness and jealousy, Snow,” I murmured, lips brushing close to hers. “Do you want everyone to know we’re fucking?”

Her grin only widened. She rose on tiptoe, utterly unconcerned, and kissed me with fierce possessiveness, palms sliding to my chest as always.

I’d come to realize she loved feeling my warmth beneath her hands and tonight, with her period and the heat clearly gripping her, she seemed like an entirely different person. Or perhaps this was simply who she truly was, the fire the heat drew out of her.

She pulled back with a soft sigh, smiling brightly.

“It’s a shame there’s no bed here,” she teased, stepping aside to search for an exit only to realize it was a dead end.

Innocently, she turned back to me for help.

But I wasn’t ready to leave yet. I held her gaze, expression serious, no trace of a smile. She slowed, clearly wondering what had shifted.

“I read your texts,” I said quietly.

She swallowed, tucking a strand of hair behind her car and lowering her gaze.

“There were some… rather daring things in there.” I muttered as I stepped closer.

She backed up slowly until the elevator doors stopped her retreat. I pinned her there gently, one hand sliding to grip her waist. My lips hovered inches from hers. No kiss yet.

“What do you have to say for yourself about all those messages?”

She swallowed again, chest rising and falling quickly. Then her eyes flicked up to mine, and

gods, she was breathtaking, pure, luminous, and mine in a way that made me want to shield her from the world forever.

“It’s been a while since we made love,” she whispered innocently. “It’d be messy right now with me bleeding… right?”

If I hadn’t already known I was the first man she’d ever truly chosen, I might have laughed at the sweet naivety. Instead, I closed the distance and kissed her. Slow, deep, answering without words.

My free hand pressed the elevator button behind her. The doors slid open.

I guided her inside, leaning against the far wall and pulling her flush against me as the doors sealed us in. I held her close, savoring how perfectly she fit, how her breathing evened out in

my arms.

The ride to the underground garage was brief, but it felt like everything. Peace, possession, promise for both of us.

When the doors opened, I expected her to step away. She didn’t. She clung tighter, melting against me.

Seconds stretched into minutes. Finally, I eased back just enough to search her eyes.

“I want to stay longer,” she murmured, almost helplessly.

I swallowed. This was it. She was deep in heat, and I had become the sole center of her world.

“We’ll be together tomorrow, right?” I asked softly.

She nodded, palm resting over my heart.

“Our schedule starts in the morning. We leave home early, reach the parish before afternoon. The team will handle the donation, then we move on.”

“Hmm.” I brushed my lips against hers. “I’ll send a car for you. Rest early tonight.”

She pulled back slightly, staring deep into my eyes as if stunned by the suggestion.

“You’re sending me away.”

I shook my head. I knew better than to argue. She wasn’t fully herself right now. Heat made focus razor-sharp and reasoning fragile.

“No,” I said gently. “I’m worried you’ll be exhausted tomorrow. And I can’t have you tired.” My thumb traced her lower lip tenderly. “We’ll have all morning. You can lean on me as much as you need then. I’m entirely yours tomorrow.”

Silence lingered. I hoped it would settle her. I wasn’t sure I could resist if she pushed to stay longer.

At last, she nodded.

“You’ll walk me to my car?”

“Of course.”

We stepped out of the elevator together and crossed the dimly lit garage. She slowed, gazing around with a wide, appreciative smile.

“Cupid… your father is extraordinarily wealthy.”

I scoffed lightly.

“I’ve seen the Frost Law Firm up close and Mooncrest Pack once, briefly. You’re the luckiest woman with two fathers’ legacies.”

We reached her car. She turned to me with that beautiful smile.

“Combine both, and it still wouldn’t touch the Godlike net worth.” She sighed into the night, eyes drifting from my face to the towering company building, then back. “No wonder it’s called an Empire.”

I offered a faint smile, mind flashing to truths she didn’t know. The bodies buried, the pain inflicted to build that empire. Only the Moon Goddess knew what she’d think if she ever learned.

“It’s not your car,” I murmured, eyeing the sleek vehicle she’d arrived in.

She glanced at it, giggling softly until the laughter faded under my serious gaze. She cleared

her throat.

“Actually… it’s one of Roc’s. One of the beauties parked in our garage. I borrowed it.” She searched my eyes, reading my silence. “I’ll order the one you got me soon. I just… to be honest, it feels like too much. We’re not even official yet, and you’ve already given me a car and a limitless credit card. What if… what if I truly become your woman and…”

“You are my woman,” I cut in, voice leaving no room for doubt.
