The knock startled me from the edge of sleep. I shifted slightly on the bed, my head still resting on his arm, his other hand wrapped securely around me beneath the warm duvet.
I felt so comfortable, so safe, that I began drifting again until the knock sounded a second time, sharper and more insistent.
I fluttered my eyes open fully. Cupid lay beside me, deeply asleep. His dark hair had fallen across his forehead in soft, full bangs, and my breath caught at how beautiful he looked. How peaceful, almost boyish. A small, involuntary smile spread across my lips.
Last night had ended so sweetly. After dinner, he’d made love to me again. Slow, thorough, until exhaustion overtook me and I fell asleep cradled in his arms.
I shouldn’t have called him daddy. Goodness.
My cheeks flushed hot at the memory, but the knock came once more, louder now, snapping me fully awake.
“Cupid?” I whispered urgently, shoving him gently in rising panic. “Cupid, you have to go. The sisters are here.”
He didn’t stir at first. For a terrifying moment, I wondered if he was truly gone or if his wolf had dragged him into that unnaturally deep sleep again, like that one night.
“Cupid?” I tried again, pushing harder. He remained still, chest rising and falling in steady rhythm. The only reassurance he wasn’t… dead.
“Sister Snow?” The voice came clearly from behind the door.
I swallowed hard.
Oh, just great. Cupid had decided to make our relationship undeniable.
I sighed shakily, wondering what possessed him to stay and why he slept so deeply he wouldn’t wake. The knock repeated. I scrambled from the bed, raking fingers through my hair to compose myself.
I padded to the door and opened it only a crack, plastering on my brightest, most innocent smile.

“Good morning, Sister Rosey,” I greeted the middle nun, nodding politely to the other two. They returned warm, polite smiles.
“You’re awake. How did you sleep?” Sister Rosey asked kindly.
“Just great. Thank you so much,” I replied, trying desperately to block the view inside.
“It’s fine. We came to let you know breakfast is ready. Afterward, perhaps you and Mr. Cupid could join us for morning prayer…”
Her words trailed off as movement sounded behind me. I bit my lower lip hard as the sisters‘ eyes widened in unison.
“Sister Snow?”
“I…” Explanation failed me when the rustle grew clearer. He was waking.
Caught, I surrendered the door. The nuns pushed it wider and froze.
Cupid had just finished dressing. He raked his fingers through his hair, a low, sleepy groan escaping his lips.
I stared at him in silent disbelief. How could he implicate me like this?
As if unaware of our audience, he crossed to me, cupped my cheek tenderly, and brushed a soft kiss across my lips.
“Are you okay?” he asked, voice rough and husky with sleep.
Shamelessly, I melted under his gaze.
“Yeah…”
He kissed me lightly once more, then offered the nuns a respectful bow before striding past them and out the door.
The sisters stood stunned, gazes fixed on his retreating figure in silent awe. Even those who should have averted their eyes couldn’t help themselves.
He left as though nothing extraordinary had happened.
I lowered my gaze when the sisters turned back to me, waiting for explanation.
Silence stretched until I lifted my eyes to find them staring in open astonishment.

“I… um… actually… it’s…”
“He’s a sin,” Sister Roscy murmured with a solemn nod.
I nodded helplessly in agreement.
“I know, Sister.”

“Thank you so much for the donation and your time. We truly appreciate it,” Priest Johan said warmly. I smiled brightly back at him.
“Please don’t mention it. We all deserve goodness. You do the work of the Lord. You must be praised for it.”
“You enjoyed your stay here, right?” he asked again. I swallowed, daring not to glance at the three sisters standing at a distance near the cameraman.
“I did. Thank you so much.”
“Good, good. Let’s take a picture before you leave. I hope you don’t mind.”
I laughed lightly and headed toward the camera setup, then glanced at Cupid standing near the exit gate. I beckoned him over.
“He should be in it. Please wait…” I waved further. “Cupid, come on. Let’s take a snap!”
He hesitated a moment, then walked forward, silent but respectful. He took his place beside me, and together with the parish and its holy aura enveloping us, we captured the photo.
Afterward, we exchanged farewells, bows of respect and warm words, and finally headed toward the exit.
“Sister Snow?” Sister Rosey’s gentle voice called.
I turned and approached her quickly, eager to hear whatever she wished to share. When I stood before her, she swallowed, eyes shifting briefly to Cupid waiting by the car.
“Um… Mr. Cupid… your man,” she began carefully. “You know who he is, don’t you?”
I went still, a small frown creasing my brow. I glanced at Cupid, then back to Sister Rosey and the two other nuns beside her, wondering where this was leading.
Did they mean as a Rogue?

“You know he is… he is not just a normal werewolf, right?” she asked softly.
My heart began thudding harder. I tried to focus.

“I’m… I’m not following you, Sister Rosey. How do you mean he’s not a normal werewolf?”
She sighed almost painfully, hesitantly, before taking my hand tenderly in hers.

“Just as priests and priestesses from werewolf territory can sense the divinity in creatures, so can we,” she said quietly. Goosebumps spread across my skin. When she spoke again, her pinned mine seriously. “Inform him to seek the Moon Goddess’s help so his path can become clearer. His power was supposed to be far more immense than this. His wolf wasn’t meant to be caged. It’s suppressed. You’ve been kind and sweet during your short stay here, so I’m telling you this. Let him… seek the Moon Goddess’s guidance.”
