I went still. I stared into her eyes without seeing anything for a long while. I was simply stunned. I didn’t even believe I had heard what she had just said.

“Which Marlik will be accused of drugs?” I asked, murmuring to her.

She swallowed, pulling back slightly to search my eyes.

“Roc has a friend from the Moon Tower. The document was already finalized, and brother mentioned helping his friend with the final draft. He brought it home, and I happened to see it. Maybe I should have informed you sooner, Cupid. You look bothered.”

I looked away to steady my breath. Yes, I was bothered but not because something couldn’t be done now that I knew. It was the fact that my father hadn’t told me this.

I continued to drive, and until we met Pa. Nashville, Snow’s chauffeur I didn’t speak.

I parked my car beside the waiting vehicle that would drive Snow home. At that, she looked at me as if surprised I wouldn’t be driving her personally.

“He’ll get you home safely,” I said softly.

She nodded. She reached for her bags in the backseat and turned to me in silence.

She was worried about me. I could tell. I sighed, looking at her.

“Thanks for informing me, and thank your sister in law for me. I loved the meal.”

With that, I kissed her lips as though to assure her I was fine.

Only then did she smile and head out.

I watched as she settled in the car and Pa. Nashville drove her off, leaving me sighing from where I sat.

Chapter 186

Moon Tower was a place of punishment for werewolves who abused their freedom hary werewolf taken there as a criminal hardly stepped out sane again. It was different from normal jail.

In everywhere, the Godlike mafia empire had moles, including the Moon Tower. Which means my father would have known about Marlik’s case, but he hadn’t let me know.

I let the cellphone ring without answering. Following it was his text.

I looked away from that. He must be watching my location, the red dot beep that showed where I was must have appeared stationary.

There were times I wouldn’t want to have misunderstanding with my father because I believed he had tangible reasons but this time, I thought differently.

When I arrived at the Godlike pack, I saw the human friends of the pack members just leaving after Thanksgiving.

I headed into the hall, following the scent, and finally arrived at my father’s study. I paused at the door, staring at the fine wood, when Desmond appeared from ahead in the hall.

“Boss, you’re here,” he said.

I ignored him and opened the door gently.

There, I found my father with Almira. He was busy with pack affairs documents while Almira, as she often did, was sorting some out for him.

At my presence, she grinned at once and rushed over to me. I held her for only a heart- stopping second before pulling away to walk ahead.

“You’ve finished the first charity. How was it?” Father said while scribbling his signature without looking up.

Suddenly, he paused. He read the room. The energy. Slowly, he looked up to my eyes, and I met his brielly before bowing.

He didn’t respond. He could tell there was something. He waited, and when I didn’t speak, he nodded.
