I don’t know what to do, what to wear, or what to think. All I know is that I tried to look my best. I couldn’t even pinpoint why.

pulled a brandnew dress from the part of my closet I never touch, and my heels were too bright, too shiny for a simple charitymeeting dinner planning with a partner.

I arrived at Sandals Restaurant, one of the most jawdropping, classic places, where even the wealthiest have to book months ahead before they’re granted audience.

I parked, and the valet approached to take the keys. I paused at the entrance, swallowed hard, steadied my breathing, and walked in, hoping he would arrive soon.

But the moment I stepped inside, my knees almost buckled.

He was already there, Sitting alone at the last table with no drink. Not a meal.

Just a cigarette between his fingers, smoke curling up like it bowed for him.

My heart plummeted.

His presence, his aura, his energy, thick, powerful, swirling like something one can drown in.

I glanced around slowly and realized the restaurant was empty. Every table untouched. Every chair vacant. Silence filled the air except for the soft Christmas music playing in the background.

He had rented the whole place.

My moon goddesshow powerful was he, really? How much did he even have to burn to do something like this?

No answer came. My thoughts spun wildly, useless. I clutched my bag, forced myself to act natural, and walked toward the table. One waiter emerged from the counter, pulling out my chair.

After I sat, he bowed politely.

What will you have, ma’am?

I lifted my gaze to him, then lowered it quickly. I dared a small glance at Cupid Godlike, but he didn’t look my way. His eyes were on the ashtray. It was filled with cigarette butts. An empty pack sat beside it.

How long had he been waiting?

I checked the wall clock.

I was on time, early by five minutes. Then why?

I’ll just have juice, if that’s okay.”

Right away, ma’am.

He left, and the moment he did, I felt the weight of being alone with him.

This close now, I could see his face clearly and since he wasn’t looking at me, I allowed myself

to stare.

He was built perfectly.

Not overly muscled, not too lean, just the right amount. The kind of man whose chest you would want to collapse against, whose shoulders were made to hold someone through nightmares.

My gaze drifted to his ears, dark studs glinting. Then the chain around his neck expensive, subtle.

His tattoo peeked from under his crewneck sweatshirt, curling up the warm skin of his throat. He wore flannel pants, casual, effortless, yet he looked breathtaking without even trying.

Then my eyes reached his lips and I froze. My heart leapt to my throat.

Those lips had crashed into mine that night, claiming me, consuming me, like I was the only woman he’d ever wanted.

I swallowed, helpless. I was already drifting into the memory until His gaze lifted, and my eyes locked with his green pupils.

I froze entirely. A cold chill raced down my spine.

I tried to look away, tried to break the hold, but he had me trapped, captivated in a way couldn’t describe.

In his eyes, I finally understood the meaning of beautyand Claim.

Ma’am, your order.”

I

The waiter’s voice snapped the moment in half. I blinked. I thanked him quietly, and he left.

I stared at my juice, pretending to be focused, but all my attention was on the man across from me. He was ten years older, wrapped in an aura so dense it made the air thick. My energy couldn’t even read him, nothing, not a flicker. That made him dangerous.

I didn’t dare look up now. I knew he was staring.

Panicking inside, I reached for my bag and pulled out the holiday event documents, laying them on the table.

Good evening, Mr. Godlike. These are the papers you need to sign. I called this meeting to discuss our schedule regarding the charity events.”

My voice was amazingly steady.

Silence. Deep, heavy silence.

When I wondered why he wasn’t responding, I saw him finally move, reaching for the papers and then holding out his palm toward me.

I hesitated, confused, until he spoke.

Pen.

My heart jumped.

His voice was deep, rough, vibrating like it came straight from his chest. A voice meant to command.

I handed him my pen.

He signed the documents without reading a single line.

As if he trusted me or had nothing to lose.

When he finished, he slid the documents gently toward me. I took them, uncertain of what to do next, when I saw him glance at his cellphone which just beeped.

A small frown appears on his face and before I could speak, he pushed back his chair and started walking toward the exit.

I blinked.

Was he leaving? Just like that? Without a word? Without mentioning the kiss? Didn’t he remember?

Mr. Godlike?I said quietly, rising from my seat.

The effect was immediate. His shoulders tensed, hard. I saw it before he slowly turned.

His green, dangerous eyes locked on me. He stared for so long I forgot to breathe.

Then he took a step toward me, and I shuddered. But I stayed where I was, unsure of what he would do.

Cupid Godlike stopped right in front of me, towering, intoxicatingly close. His scent clean, fresh, expensive, wrapped around me, stealing sense from my body.

Then his hand lifted.

Gently. Slowly.

His palm came to my cheek, like touching me was the most natural thing in the world.

Before I could blink He leaned down, and kissed me.

Soft. Certain.

Claiming me again with a quiet intensity that shattered every thought in my head.

Call me Cupid,he murmured against my lips. Mr. Godlike makes it like you are addressing my father.

He pulled back just enough to look into my eyes.

You remember that night. And here I thought you forgot.

You remember that night. And here I thought you forgot.

Then he stepped away, dropped his hand, turned and walked out.

Leaving me rooted to the spot, white as a sheet, stunned down to my toes.
