Chapter 346
Chapter 346

It’s a new day, but nothing feels normal. I barely slept, didn’t even try. When I finally got up from bed, they were already waiting outside. Cops from H.O.W.L., stone–faced and ready, here to escort me to court like I’m some high–profile prize.
I’d memorized every word Neils fed me. Keep the emotions sad. Apologetic. Remorseful. I dressed casually, nothing flashy, nothing, that screams arrogance and walked out to them without a word.
They loaded me into the back of the unmarked car and drove toward the courthouse in heavy silence.
Everything was in place. The plan was airtight. I’d saved Snow that night. I’d cooperated fully with the investigation. Neils White, my brother–in–law was presiding as judge. We’d bribed the original judge with a jaw–dropping sum to step aside. No loose ends.
When the car pulled into the court lot, my pulse kicked up anyway. What was waiting inside?
The H.O.W.L. staff, Echo 6 team, as they were now infamous had already arrived.
Eshan, that self–righteous bastard, was already seated at the prosecutor’s table, waiting like death itself.
I scoffed under my breath. My brother–in–law will be on the bench. I would win this. Eshan would lose for the first time in his perfect
little career.
The door opened. Rusi, my lawyer, was right there, documents clutched in one hand, flashing that confident smile as cameras exploded and reporters shouted questions.
“You’re here,” he said, ignoring the frenzy.
“Where’s Neils?”
“In chambers. He doesn’t want you doing anything but sticking to the plan. Come on, it’s almost time.”
We pushed through the doors into the courtroom. I had to slow my steps. The Frosts were here, same as they’d been at Feroz’s hearing.
Snow sat quietly among her H.O.W.L. colleagues this time, not alone like before. Our eyes met for one frozen second. I swallowed hard.
Yesterday I’d gone to her house, desperate to warn her about Cupid Godlike, that dubious, dangerous man she was parading around with. I had to unravel him. Expose him. But first, I had to survive today.
The prosecution team entered. Eshan and his assistant. The room settled into tense quiet as the judge walked in. My heart leaped. in raw relief.
Neils.
I was ushered to the witness stand. From the corner of my eye, I caught movement. My mother and elder sister Ranta slipping into seats near the back.
They looked at me with worried, pleading eyes. Dad wasn’t here. Still in his wheelchair, still refusing to speak to me since he learned what I’d done. He’d always liked Snow more than he let on. Always thought Mom, Ranta, and I were too hard on her.

Chapter 346
“It’s good to have you here, Mr. Bani.” Eshan’s voice cut through the room the moment the session begen
I turned to see him calmly, sharp, dangerous. I knew what he’d done. He kept his girlfriend out of reach on we cosen’t eater to bend him. Smart bastard.
“Today you stand accused concerning your involvement in the dark alley case. How you stood by and watched the dicten ze sexually assaulted. How you made no attempt to intervene until the act was complete. You only acted like a savior sherard
“Objection,” Rusi cut in, voice crisp and lethal. “My client, Mr. Bani, was at Love Avenue that night to meet a legitimate bruscans partner. Here are the receipts, timestamps, and witness statements confirming it.”
Rusi strode to the bench and handed the bundle to Neils, who flipped through them with deliberate care for show since he’d seen and approved every piece himself before now.
“After concluding his meeting, my client returned toward Mooncrest Pack. That was when he heard a scream and rushed to help. Tragically, the assault had already occurred.” Rusi paused for effect, letting the silence build. “Your Honor, members of the public. my client knows exactly who committed this monstrosity. But out of fear of Alpha Feroz’s retaliation, he remained silent.
“The victim? His ex–wife. The woman he loved so deeply that, even after her assault, he chose to marry her and protect her ve Bani is profoundly sorry for his failure to speak sooner.
“He has reflected deeply, taken full responsibility, and today he pleads for forgiveness and for justice to be served properly. To the true perpetrator, and to him as both a flawed savior and a victim too terrified to come forward until it was too late.”
Silence crashed over the courtroom. Tension that had coiled tight now seemed to wither. We’d prepared perfectly. Evidence backed every claim.
Neils sat right there, ready to deliver. I nearly smiled. A fine at worst. Three months max, if that. I’d pay someone to serve it for me. Easy.
I flicked my gaze to Eshan. He was mute. Stunned. I almost laughed out loud. We had him. Finally.
I watched him shift his eyes from my lawyer to me, then nod once. Slow, deliberate. Silence stretched. Everyone watched as he walked back to his table, picked up a fresh folder, and returned to the center of the floor.
“Since the defense has spoken and the prosecution initially appeared to have nothing further,” Neils began, “we will proceed to…”
“The prosecution has a great deal to say, Your Honor,” Eshan interrupted smoothly. “In fact, we have everything to say. How about you listen?”
The withered tension snapped back to life, sharper, hotter. Eshan set the first document aside and opened the new one.
He turned fully toward me, locking eyes. The hard set of his jaw, the cold certainty in his stare, it told me everything I didn’t want to know.
This man wasn’t here to lose.
He was here to bury me.
And for the first time today, a cold thread of real fear snaked through my gut.
Was I doomed?
