Chapter 387
Snowflakes
The gunshots finally stopped. Slowly, Cupid sat up, scanning the cavern with sharp, predatory eyes.
“Stay in the car,” he ordered, voice low and firm, before stepping out with Desmond.

I pushed myself upright to watch him stride toward a concrete block ahead. Then, abruptly, he paused and turned back toward me.
He walked straight to the car. I shuddered when he opened the door and extended his palm.
“Come with me,” he said.
I didn’t hesitate. I took his hand, letting him pull me out. I pressed close to his side like glue as we moved forward, his presence the only anchor in the chaos.
As we headed toward a shadowed corridor, I noticed the people around us, workers who had frozen mid–task, staring openly.
Their eyes tracked us with a mix of fear, awe, and curiosity. I looked away, focusing only on Cupid’s steady grip as he drew me into a dimly lit hall.
The light faded gradually, then flared again in sections. We passed workers labeling and packing bulk drugs, crisp bundles stacked high.
They bowed deeply as Cupid passed, but their stunned gazes lingered on me too, until we reached a smaller chamber. Ahead stood a massive vault door, waiting like a silent sentinel.
I stopped dead. Cupid halted with me. He turned, brows furrowing in question.
I exhaled shakily. “Feroz is here.”
His eyes narrowed. He scanned the darkness and as though sensing his cover had blown, the unmistakable click of a gun cocking echoed from behind.
I stiffened completely. Slowly, I turned.
Marlik emerged first, face pale and tight. Then Feroz stepped into view, gun pressed firmly to the back of Marlik’s head.
Gafi raised his weapon instinctively, but Cupid lifted a hand, sharp, commanding, signaling him to hold.
Marlik was at gunpoint. Feroz was unhinged enough to pull the trigger at the slightest provocation.
‘Open the vault,” Feroz snarled, eyes locked on Cupid.
Without a word of protest, Cupid approached the massive door. He leaned in for an iris scan, then pressed his fingertips to the pad. The vault clicked open with a deep, grinding metallic groan.
Feroz shoved Marlik inside first, gun never wavering, then forced Cupid in after him.
I followed silently, stepping to the threshold. My knees nearly buckled at the sight.
Endless stacks of drugs filled the chamber, mountains of neatly wrapped packages, enough to ruin countless lives, to feed

Goosebumps crawled across my skin. This was the true source of Cupid’s jaw–dropping wealth. And Feroz stared at it all with greedy, grieving marvel, mourning what he had lost.
He swung the gun toward Cupid.
“Get your men to start packing. Now!” he roared.
Cupid nodded once. He started toward the door but I caught it. I saw the tiny, subtle signal he flashed to Marlik.
He turned as if to leave, then whirled back with lethal speed. Marlik struck from behind, slamming into Feroz.
The man stumbled forward, straight into Cupid, who drove his head hard against the metal wall.
A sickening crack echoed through the vault. I shuddered and took an involuntary step back as blood began to ooze from Feroz’s scalp.
Setting my jaw, I watched Marlik drop to his knees, seize Feroz by the collar, and unleash a storm of punches, each one fueled by years of buried grief and rage.
“Shot my mother,” he growled, fist connecting again and again. “Molested my sister. Sent me to jail.”
Feroz’s face split open, lips bleeding, wheezing through broken teeth.
Cupid circled the stacks slowly, eyes taking in every detail of the empire he had helped built. Then he turned to Desmond, decision made.
“Let’s burn it down.”
Silence crashed over the room like a physical weight until Feroz crawled forward and clutched at Cupid’s leg.
“You won’t dare burn my drugs. You won’t…”
Cupid kicked his head away. Another crack jolted through me. Feroz spat blood stubbornly, but Desmond had already left to retrieve the accelerant.
“You bastard don’t know how much I suffered to get all this done!” Feroz snarled, voice cracking with fury.
Cupid ignored him. He crossed to the door, yanked a metal rod free from the frame, and walked back. Slowly, he bent down to Feroz.
“I know exactly how you got the drugs made,” he said quietly. “Evalina Dravens told me. How you used her aunt, forced her to produce until she died. I know.”
Feroz gritted his teeth, hatred blazing.
“I’m kill her. That whore.”
Cupid nodded once. “Perhaps in your next life.”
He straightened. Just then, a faint hissing sound filled the air as Desmond returned.
“All set,” he said, handing Cupid the lighter.

We watched, my heart slamming against my ribs. Feroz’s eyes widened. He could see his empire’s fate flashing before him. At the last second, he lifted his gaze to me.
“Sister… help me…”
The word was poison. Calling me sister. Begging for mercy from the woman he had violated four years ago in that dark alley.
Cupid heaved the rod high and brought it down with crushing force. The crack of bone splattered blood across the floor.
“That’s for my brother you sent to jail unjustly.”
