We finally reached the end of the highway. Cupid pulled the car to a stop and let out a long, weary sigh. I knew what it meant it was time. Time for the Gafi gang to part ways.

He stepped out quietly. Gafi was already waiting, standing tall beside his vehicle.

He was about Cupid’s age, perhaps a few years older, broad, shouldered, steady, carrying the same quiet strength.

When he saw Cupid approaching, he bowed deeply with genuine respect. Cupid stopped in front of him.

“After 1 clear my name and regain access to my accounts,” Cupid said evenly, “I’ll wire the payment to you immediately.”

Gafi straightened and shook his head firmly.

“This service is free,” he replied, voice thick with emotion. “I was devastated when I heard you’d been arrested. I knew it wasn’t true. I knew it in my bones. If it wasn’t for you… I wouldn’t have been able to save my only son all those years ago. Boss… thank you.”

Cupid swallowed hard, throat working. He nodded once, then stepped forward and pulled Gafi into a tight embrace.

Gafi held on fiercely, gratitude pouring out of him in the way he clung for a long moment before finally pulling back.

“You call me if you ever need anything in the future,” Gafi said, forcing a lighter tone. “That one? I’ll definitely accept payment.”

Cupid cracked a small, genuine smile and punched him playfully on the shoulder. Gafi laughed quietly, then turned, climbed into his car, and drove off without looking back.

For a long moment, Cupid stood motionless, staring after the disappearing taillights. Then he turned slowly and fixed his gaze on

our car.

Marlik stepped out first, followed by Desmond. I climbed out last but stayed close to the vehicle, heart still pounding.

Marlik walked straight to Cupid and tugged his shirt up, checking for wounds with practiced urgency.

Finding none, he exhaled shakily. I hadn’t realized I’d been holding my breath until relief flooded through me. Cupid was safe, unmarked.

Marlik searched Cupid’s eyes, voice soft but heavy.

“What now, Jahan?”

“What else?” Cupid replied, glancing at me for the briefest heartbeat before turning back to Marlik. “Listen to Mother, of course. Get married. Settle down with the woman I love. Move far away from the bloodshed.”

My heart bloomed at those words, warm, aching, full of promise. He was keeping his vow, every syllable carrying the weight of a

future he wanted with me.

“I’m sorry I led Feroz to the vault,” Marlik said quietly. “I did because I knew he couldn’t get in without you anyway.”

Cupid nodded, no trace of anger in his expression.

“Go back to the hospital,” he said. “I’ll come by soon.”

Marlik nodded and stepped away.

Cupid turned to Desmond, who had remained silent the entire time, shoulders hunched.

“I should… I should go back to the pack,” Desmond murmured, voice cracking. “I don’t even know how to face you… knowing it was my dad who planned to send you to jail.”

Desmond lifted his gaze briefly, eyes glistening.

“My mom told me everything when I went to the Moon Tower earlier. They were trying to kill you. No one really accepted you… except Grandma and Almira. I’m sorry.”

He started to turn away, but Cupid’s voice stopped him.

“You’re not going to check on Yasmin?”

Desmond froze.

“And here I thought you had a thing for her,” Cupid added gently.

Desmond turned slowly, swallowing hard.

“You’d… allow me to go to her?”

In answer, Cupid closed the distance and pulled Desmond into a fierce, crushing hug, tighter than I’d ever seen him hold anyone outside of family.

“You were the first person who held my hand back then, Desmond,” Cupid said against his shoulder. “The first person who saw me, really saw me and loved me anyway. Loyal to the end. Go check on her now… before I truly change my mind.”

I swiped my card into the staff–only elevator. It hummed upward. When the doors chimed open, I stepped out, Cupid right behind me. We walked straight into Eshan’s wide office.

Eshan stood there with Sera. Almira was seated in one of the chairs but the moment she saw Cupid, she leaped up and rushed to

him.

He caught her gently, caressing her hair with heartbreaking tenderness.

Eshan watched quietly, then turned to Sera. She handed me a slim folder, the medical report they had extracted.

“She wasn’t raped,” Sera said softly. “Her examination shows she’s still a virgin.”

I accepted the document, fingers trembling as relief crashed over me in waves. I sighed shakily, gratefully.

“With this, we can even sue Luna Sash,” I said. “For not verifying facts, for targeting an innocent man despite being chairwoman of Justice. Cupid’s fans will go berserk.”

“Surely,” Sera agreed. “We also recorded a clip of Almira telling the full truth, who really assaulted her. I… I wanted to ask if it’s okay to air it.”
