Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella) novel Chapter 1166

Stella recalled Ronald's reluctant expression earlier and figured she would probably have to coax her husband after the wedding tomorrow.

Skye Yoder had been taking care of Tegan James.

They chatted into the night, and eventually, the pregnant women drifted off to sleep.

When only Skye and Tegan were left awake, Skye turned to her. "Uriah met with a guy named Trevor today. He should be able to see Leslie now."

Tegan paused. "Just see her?"

"Don't worry. I know what you're thinking. She's not getting out," Skye assured her.

"Good. Let him see her, then."

Seeing her would only make him more anxious. Skye hadn't held back when she gave Leslie those injuries.

"Mr. Quinn's men are keeping a close eye on the place. Aside from a quick visit, there's no way he can pull her out of there," Skye said.

Tegan nodded. "Good."

That was enough. Letting Uriah see Leslie would be the ultimate torture for him and Mrs. Horner.

Whenever Uriah was mentioned, Tegan's tone dripped with ice, revealing just how deeply he had disappointed her.

Everyone used to say Uriah was the man protecting Tegan. With him around, nobody could touch her. And sure, no one on the outside dared to lay a finger on her. But Leslie, his own sister, had bullied her relentlessly. And every time, swayed by Leslie's lies, Uriah had chosen to believe his sister.

...

The next morning.

Yvonne Quinn shook a groggy Stella awake. "Star, time to get up. You're getting married today."

Seeing Stella's baby bump, Lottie walked over. "Darling, you look absolutely stunning today."

"I haven't even put on my makeup yet, Mom," Stella smiled.

"You're beautiful regardless. Ever since you got pregnant, you've just been glowing. Prettier than anyone else."

Yvonne rolled her eyes playfully. It figured—Lottie had raised Stella, so of course she thought her daughter was flawless.

Having seen Stella's refusal to call Cloudia Lawson 'Mom' back in Portis City, Susanna and Tegan knew her adoptive mother must have treated her incredibly well. Now, seeing this fierce, successful businesswoman show such unique tenderness to Stella, it all made sense.

Watching them, Tegan's eyes stung with a bitter mix of longing and envy. Deep down, she envied anyone who had a real family.

Noticing her sadness, Susanna hooked an arm through Tegan's. "Tegan, how about I share half my mom with you?"
