Over a hundred years had passed since Tian Yang rescued Kulas from the Immortal Confinement Dungeon.
In all that time, he hadn’t heard a single word about Kulas’s whereabouts, and devoted himself entirely to destroying the Immortal Clans.
As Ren Xia had wished, they began with the Immortal Sword Clan.
The Immortal Sword Clan had been struggling even before Ren Xia’s betrayal, leaving them already weakened. After she turned on them and ruined their plans to sell her off through a political marriage, the clan was essentially half-destroyed even without any further interference.
Although they still carried the title of an Immortal Clan in the eyes of the public, in reality, the other Immortal Clans had already severed all ties with the Immortal Sword Clan and no longer considered them one of their own.
Although Ren Xia didn’t go as far as killing her own parents or relatives, she struck directly at the Ren Family’s businesses, weakening their already fragile position to the point where they had no choice but to relinquish their status as an Immortal Clan and revert to simply being the Ren Family.
Under normal circumstances, another family would have risen to take their place, but due to the ongoing chaos, the Immortal Clans were forced to postpone the selection.
"Now that the Ren Family is no longer an Immortal Clan, they’ll definitely be targeted by all the people they’ve offended in the past," Tian Yang said.
"So what? They deserve whatever comes their way," Ren Xia replied, her tone casual as she gazed out the window of their hotel room.
"What about you? Now that you’ve brought down your family and achieved your goal, what are you going to do next? Walk your own path?"
Ren Xia shifted her gaze from the outside view to glare at Tian Yang in the face before responding, "One goal. I have two goals in mind when I decided to follow you, and I have only achieved one of them so far."
"What is your second goal, then?" Tian Yang asked.
Ren Xia narrowed her eyes at him, silently staring at him.
A moment later, she stood up and walked over with a mischievous smile.
Tian Yang quietly observed her movements as he sat by the table.
"Are you asking that because you genuinely don’t know, or because you’re pretending not to notice?" she whispered while slipping onto his lap, her soft hips molding against him. One slender arm curled around his neck, guiding his face toward hers.
Tian Yang met her gaze calmly and sighed. "How can you act like this when you just brought about your own family’s downfall?"
"And why are you trying to change the subject?" Ren Xia shot back almost immediately. "I may not look it, but my heart is anything but calm right now. In such a state, I might do something rash..."
Ren Xia suddenly reached for his chest with her other arm.
Tian Yang shut his eyes, a quiet sigh escaping him. "You should reconsider. Anyone who gets too close to me is fated to suffer."
