Chapter 2266: The Great Mammoth

"There’s a peculiar rumor going around," Ren Xia started a conversation as she rested beside Tian Yang on the bed.

"Is the rumor related to the Immortal Clans?" Tian Yang asked.

"No, not exactly."

"Then it doesn’t concern me," he said in a blunt, indifferent tone.

"Are you sure you’re not interested? You might regret it."

Tian Yang narrowed his eyes slightly. Knowing Ren Xia’s character, she wouldn’t be so persistent in a subject if it wasn’t serious or if it was related to him.

"If there’s something you want to tell me, just tell me. No need to beat around the bush," he sighed.

Ren Xia suddenly lifted herself and positioned herself on top of Tian Yang, sitting on his body. Then, with an entertained smile, she spoke, "According to this rumor, someone claiming to be the ’Great Mammoth’ recently declared himself as the ruler of the Desolate Continent."

"Great Mammoth?" Tian Yang raised his eyebrows at this familiar name.

Ren Xia gave a calm nod and continued, "And from what witnesses say, he’s a complete monster, standing almost four meters tall with an unprecedented physique."

Tian Yang shot up from the bed after hearing the details, his eyes wide with shock.

"Oh!" Ren Xia, who was sitting on top of him, fell backwards but gracefully caught herself.

"Doesn’t that sound like someone we know?" she chuckled.

"It has to be Kulas!" Tian Yang exclaimed.

He finally realized why the name Great Mammoth was familiar. It was the name of the technique he’d given Kulas—Great Mammoth Body Refinement!

"What are the Immortal Clan’s reaction? Have they done anything yet?" he then asked.

Ren Xia curled her arms around his neck, letting out a soft sigh.

"I wish you’d show me even a little of the passion you always have for Kulas."

"Are you saying that you’d rather be in Kulas’ situation rather than what you currently have right now?"

Ren Xia fell silent for a moment before speaking again, "I don’t think the Immortal Clan is aware of his identity."

She completely changed the topic. Clearly, she was satisfied with her situation after giving it some thought

"What makes you think so?" Tian Yang asked.

"Well, this rumor has been floating around for two weeks already. There’s no way the Immortal Clans haven’t heard it, but they haven’t shown the slightest response. They’ve been behaving as if nothing happened."

"Moreover, unless they learned about the Great Mammoth Body Refinement technique from Kulas, they won’t immediately make the connections just by his size. With that said, even if they realize his identity, I doubt they’ll do anything to him now, especially how much we’ve weakened them."

If they were to meet Kulas right now, the Immortal Clan would definitely go after Kulas, too.

"That said, I should still keep an eye on him just in case anything happens," he added a moment later.

"How are you going to do that without getting close to him?"

"I’ll hire somebody to watch over him."

"You’re acting like a stalker." Ren Xia chuckled.

"If that’s how it seems, then so be it. As long as I can protect him properly this time, nothing else matters."

With that resolve, Tian Yang and Ren Xia intensified their assaults on the Immortal Clans, moving with a slightly greater urgency than before, as though something had spurred them forward.

Time continued to pass, and as the Immortal Clans grew weaker and lost influence, Kulas—now known as the Great Mammoth—rose in the opposite direction. He became a powerhouse and an authoritative figure within the Desolate Continent, eventually establishing himself as its undisputed ruler.

Although Tian Yang sought the downfall of the Immortal Clans, he never confronted them through outright slaughter. He wasn’t looking for massacres. If he had truly wanted to destroy them, he could have easily wiped out every member of their clans besides the Patriarchs.

Instead, he chose a different approach and targeted their businesses and allies, undermining their influence and shattering their reputation, only killing when absolutely necessary.

In this way, the Immortal Clans were forced to watch their influence and power decay year after year—slowly and painfully—much like the torture they had once inflicted on Kulas.
