Seeing Ishaan’s loving gaze, Chloe was so mad she almost burst out laughing.
She couldn’t even be bothered to argue with him.
She just kicked him right in the balls.

Ishaan felt a pain so intense it shot straight to the top of his head. He doubled over, clutching his crotch, and collapsed to the ground, howling in agony.
Seeing this, Jaiden’s face darkened instantly. That was his only son.
“Chloe, you’re asking for death!” Jaiden roared.
His voice boomed like thunder, and in a flash, he was right next to Chloe.
He swung a heavy punch at her, every intention of caving her head in.
A sly smile tugged at Chloe’s lips as she launched herself backward, feet barely touching the ground, darting more than a dozen yards away in a flash.
As she retreated, she produced a handful of small black seeds and flung them onto the earth.
“You little bitch, I’m going to kill you!” Jaiden roared.
With no outsiders around, Jaiden didn’t bother hiding anymore. His real self emerged, and after Chloe’s earlier disrespect, he was out for blood.
‘Come at me if you dare! I’ll make sure you never have kids again!” Chloe shot back.
Chloe had never thought much of this family. ‘What a bunch of losers,’ she sneered to herself.
As she spoke, she shot a quick glance at the ground, her grin widening even further.
Jaiden was seeing red, about to strike, when Sophie called out from behind him.
“Careful, honey!” Sophie yelled.
Jaiden stopped in his tracks, just as he was about to turn around, when a swarm of ivy vines burst from the earth, twisting around him and wrapping him up tight before he could even react.
He snorted, a mocking grin on his face. “You really think some ordinary ivy can trap someone like me?”
With a single flex, the ivy exploded off him, every vine shattering instantly.
But before he could even start laughing, the ivy he’d just destroyed was already sprouting back, more vigorous than ever.
Chloe grinned, looking smug as hell.
Sure, the ivy might not have any fancy ranks, but it was tough as nails. As long as you didn’t rip it out by the roots, it’d just keep coming back, no matter what,
That was exactly why she hadn’t just barged into the Botanic Gardens to take out the ivy’s mother plant.

But Chloe never expected the ivy to actually hurt Jaiden, and just slowing him down for a second would be more than enough.
Suddenly, Chloe’s eyes flashed with determination.
A wild gust of wind erupted, whipping everyone’s hair into chaos. The wind, squeezed by the spiritual space, twisted at lightning speed into a visible cord of air.
It snaked toward Jaiden, coiling around him like a python.
“What the hell is this?” Jaiden shouted.
Before Jaiden could even react, the rope of wind cinched around his waist, squeezing so tight it felt like he was about to be snapped in half.
Jaiden’s eyes practically popped out of his head as he shouted at his crew, “What are you idiots waiting for? Get in there, all of you! Kill that woman!”
Chloe snapped her fingers.
The cord of compressed air wrapped around Jaiden’s waist detonated with a violent burst.
The explosion rocked the whole place, leaving a massive crater where Jaiden had just been. Chloe was gone in an instant.
As the smoke cleared, chaos erupted, and cries, wails, and screams echoed all around.
“Dad!” Ishaan cried.
“Honey!” Sophie called out.
Someone shouted, “Master!”
The powered humans caught in the blast were coughing up blood, but they were too busy scrambling to the edge of the crater to care about their wounds, desperate to see what had happened.
After a Herculean effort, they finally dragged Jaiden out of the crater, but he was barely clinging to life, and his breaths were shallow and ragged.
He was completely unconscious, both legs blown clean off, his body torn up with gaping wounds down to the bone. He looked like a bloody mess, barely even human.
He wasn’t dead yet, but honestly, it was as good as.
“Heal him! Any healers, get over here now!” Ishaan shouted, his voice cracking with panic
The whole place erupted into chaos as everyone scrambled to help.
At that moment, an eerie figure appeared behind everyone, a sly, almost ghostly smirk tugging at her lips.
Her voice was sugar–sweet, but to everyone else, it was as chilling as the devil himself laughing right in their ears.
‘Heh, a level–six powered human, and that’s all you’ve got? What a joke, Chloe scotted.
Chloe looked pale, and suddenly, ice blades shot out from her in every direction, whistling through the air and aiming straight for the powered humans‘ vital points.

The place erupted in screams, and before anyone could even react, their throats were slit in a flash.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk… pathetic bunch of weaklings,” Chloe scoffed.

Chloe’s alluring eyes swept over the crowd, a sly smirk on her lips. “Alright, which one of you is the space–powered human?”
With this whole group out here hunting treasure and not a single backpack in sight, they’re basically advertising they’ve got a space–powered human on their team.
With all those supplies just sitting there, how could Chloe not snatch them up?
“I… I’m the one,” Sophie said, her tone hesitant.
Sophie walked over slowly, her gaze plaintive and aggrieved.
‘Chloe, why are you acting like this? We honestly didn’t mean any harm,” she said, her voice gentle, almost pleading.
‘You’re the space–powered human?” Chloe shot Sophie a skeptical look.
Seriously? In my previous life, Sophie was just a water–powered human. Now, without me interfering, she’s actually awakened space powers?‘ Chloe thought, her mind reeling.
Sophie moved toward Chloe, step by step, trying to use their old friendship to get her to stop fighting.
Tears gathered at the corners of her eyes, and she looked heartbroken and deeply disappointed.
Suddenly, her expression hardened. She reached out, and a shimmering bow and arrow appeared in her hand, cold light flashing.
Her pale, slender hand drew the bow, nocking the arrow, and loosed it straight at Chloe.
Who uses a bow instead of a gun these days?‘ Chloe thought, instantly on high alert.
Something’s definitely off about that bow, she muttered to herself.
Chloe vanished in the blink of an eye, and the arrow whizzed past her, nailing a mutant rat that had just popped up behind
her.
The mutant rat had eyes as big as saucers, glowing red like light bulbs.
It raised its claws, baring its fangs and ready to ambush the humans, but before it could strike, an arrow pierced its body
The arrow clearly wasn’t strong enough, and it only managed to break the rat’s skin. But in the next instant, something freaky happened.
The mutant rat, which had been snarling and baring its fangs, suddenly froze. Its weird, glowing eyes shifted, and then it bowed down, showing it was totally under Sophie’s control.
Sophie’s face darkened as she commanded the mutant rat, “Find the person who was just here.”
The rat seemed to get it, sniffing the air hard and letting out a serios of squeaks.
But in the end, it found nothing, just spinning around in circles, totally lost.
“Were you looking for me?” Chloe suddenly appeared right behind Sophie.

She was there in a flash, sniper crossbow aimed straight at the back of Sophie’s head.

Without missing a beat, Chloe squeezed the trigger, and the bolt fired, just a split second away from blasting Sophie’s head open.
At the very last moment, a sturdy shield suddenly appeared right on Sophie. The bolt smashed into it with a metallic clang, and both the shield and the bolt dropped to the ground.
Sophie had managed to summon a shield from her spiritual space just in time, blocking the attack by a hair’s breadth.
“So you actually awakened as a space–powered human? Huh,” Chloe sneered.
“Well, let’s see just how many cards you’re hiding today,” she added, her voice icy.
“Chloe, why did things get so messed up between us? Do we really have to fight like this? Can’t we just team up instead?” Sophie said, her voice shaky and full of pleading.
Chloe could see Sophie was just stalling for time. That arrow seemed harmless at first glance, but it put Chloe on high alert.
‘An arrow that makes people obey your every command?‘ Chloe thought, her heart pounding.
That’s something I’ve never even heard of, let alone seen,‘ Chloe mused, her mind racing.
‘Sophie can’t be allowed to live!‘ Chloe’s resolve hardened.
Chloe called forth a blizzard of ice spikes from the desolate mountains inside her spiritual space, blanketing the sky as they rained down on Sophie.
Even with a whole arsenal of shields tucked away in her spiritual space, there was no way Sophie could hold up against an assault this intense.
Honestly, Sophie’s attack and defense were both weak. She was far better at manipulating people’s minds than actually fighting.
