The powered human riding shotgun pressed. “Step on it! Don’t lose them, or we’ll be totally lost out here.”

Right behind them, three military trucks were hot on their heels, chasing desperately.

Back at base, everyone was beaten and broken. Many couldn’t handle the pressure and confessed every secret they knew.

The tech team, led by Liana, was bound up with ropes, unable to move.

‘So, you’re the one behind the mutant plants?” Snake Man demanded.

Liana had been living pretty well lately, and she’d gotten her backbone back.

She’d already made peace with death. Liana said, “If you’re going to kill me, just do it. Spare me the nonsense.”

Snake Man ignored her and pointed toward the fields nearby. “What’s growing out there? Why hasn’t the virus messed up his land? Is this all because of you?”

Liana stayed silent. The people around her grew anxious. “Liana, tell him! Our lives depend on your answer!”

Inside, they were praying, ‘For heaven’s sake, Liana, just say something, even if it’s a lie. At least buy us some time!

All they could do was wait for Chloe to come back.

But Liana kept her lips sealed, while her assistants paced anxiously, completely on edge.

‘I–I’ll talk! You can’t kill Liana. She’s a brilliant tech expert. Her seeds are the only hope for growing crops after the apocalypse,” one of them finally blurted out.

Someone else quickly chimed in. “Yeah, exactly! All our food production at the base depends on Liana’s research.”

If Snake Man really wanted to take over the base, he wouldn’t kill the technical staff. He’d need them if he wanted the base to

survive.

Snake Man had heard plenty today, but not a single thing was actually useful. But the mysterious base chief was the one thing that really caught his attention. “Tell me everything you know about your base chief.”

Everyone was terrified. ‘What more does he want from us?‘ they thought. ‘We’ve already spilled every secret they had. Is he trying to find an excuse to kill us?‘

“Not talking, huh?” Snake Man smirked. He snapped his fingers.

More than twenty women, tied up from head to toe, were dragged out of the bath hall. A few had been stripped completely so humiliated and furious that they could barely stand it.

“Alright, boys, let’s spice things up tonight. Everyone gets a turn Snake Man said with a twisted grin

His men, eyes gleaming,with a predatory light, stared menacingly at the women.

The most twisted among them even set their sights on the girls, Molly included.

They’d tried to escape to the hills behind the base, but the mutant boars had blocked their way

All the women screamed in terror, and Joan instinctively stepped in front of Molly, shielding her from harm

“Mom, don’t be afraid. We’re going to be fine,” Molly said, her tone gentle but unwavering. Among everyone at the base, only Molly’s gaze remained fearless and steady.

‘Really?” Joan whispered.

Everyone knew about Molly’s predictions, and hearing her say that eased their fear a bit.

Snake Man quickly spotted Molly, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. “Come here, kid.”

Molly ignored him.

Out of nowhere, someone behind her kicked her hard, sending her tumbling right to Snake Man’s feet.

‘So, you really think you’ll be safe?” Snake Man taunted.

Molly lay face down on the floor, staying perfectly still. No matter what Snake Man asked, she kept her mouth shut and didn’t say a word.

‘Fine, since you’re so sure of yourself, then… Tom, she’s all yours,” Snake Man sneered.

The one called Tom was an old, balding man, notorious for his twisted obsession with abusing young girls.

He’d set his sights on Molly the moment he arrived at the base, and now that Snake Man had given the order, he couldn’t hold back any longer, stepping forward and trying to rip her clothes off.

Joan’s voice was hoarse with rage. “No! Don’t you dare touch my daughter! Get away from her! All of you, get the hell away!”

Her rage unleashed a storm of lightning around her, and she broke through to a third–level powered human on the spot.

Lightning snapped the ropes off her in a burst of sparks, and then arced straight for Tom.

Tom was caught off guard, left with just a ring of hair sticking straight up, his whole body charred black.

He wheezed, black smoke slowly drifting out from every hole in his face. Then, with a heavy thud, he collapsed backward, kicking up a cloud of dust.

“Tom? Tom?” Snake Man called out, his voice sharp with concern.

Tom’s mouth hung open, but no sound came out.

Joan barely had a second to process how crazy strong her lightning powers had gotten. She rushed over and scooped Molly up in a tight hug.

“Molly, are you alright?” Joan asked as she scanned Molly from head to toe.

Molly glared at Snake Man, hatred burning in her eyes. “My dad and Chloe are gonna kill you

She talked tough, but her whole body was trembling uncontrollably. She was still just a kid, scared out of her mind,

Snake Man suddenly chuckled darkly. “So, you’ve got lightning powers, huh?” He turned to his crew. “Take her down, boys, She’s all yours.”

Joan was just about to let loose a blast of lightning when a powered human twisted her arms behind her back and tied them up. The others swarmed in, trying to rip her clothes off.

“You bastards! You monsters!” Joan shouted, her voice hoarse with rage.

Molly broke down, bawling, “What are you doing? Leave my mom alone!”

The Blaze Haven crew could only stand by, powerless, watching Joan get stripped, eyes bloodshot with fury and helplessness.

Why isn’t the base chief back yet?‘ everyone wondered.

Suddenly, a massive shadow swept over them, and the sky turned a deep green as mutant ivy vines tangled together, covering half the sky overhead.

Snake Man’s eyes narrowed. “What the hell is that?”

The mutant ivy was just about to attack when it suddenly sensed an overwhelming force coming from one direction. The vines that had covered half the sky retreated like a tide, vanishing in an instant.

Seeing this, Snake Man’s men quickly began to flatter him. “Boss, that mutant must’ve sensed your strength and run for its ife.

Yeah, absolutely! Boss, you’re unstoppable!”

Snake Man wasn’t buying their flattery. He stayed on edge, his guard up.

The sheer aura from that mutant plant made it clear this was no ordinary enemy. For a moment, his heart had nearly stopped.

Why did it suddenly back off when it was about to attack?‘ Snake Man thought, uneasy.

Boss, what about that woman? Do we still get to have our fun with her?” one of his men asked, licking his lips.

Go on,” Snake Man ordered.

Yes, sir!” the man replied.

Shrieks and screams erupted all around.

A black Base Truck came roaring in at sports car speed, smashing straight through the base gates. It slammed into the nearest mutant boar, killing it instantly.

Everyone stared at that familiar black Base Truck, tears of joy and hope streaming down their faces.

Clayton was the first to react, bursting into tears and shouting, “The base chief is back!”

The whole place was filled with excited cries and howls, echoing through the chaos. “She is finally back. We’re finally safe!”

Snake Man watched the crowd, his eyes narrowing as his pupils morphed into glowing green vertical slits.

It was an instinctive reaction. Whenever danger was close, his pupils would always shift like that.

From the Base Truck, a woman with an alluring figure stepped out, moving with slow, graceful confidence. She had curves

in all the right places, and her face was stunning, sultry, and beautiful, almost unreal

“Damn, what a stunner. A few of the guys were practically drooling. They hadn’t been with a woman in ages.

‘Finally, tonight we get some real action, they thought.
