Now that they were full and satisfied, their minds drifted straight to lust. The moment they spotted a gorgeous woman, they couldn’t help but stare, practically drooling as their eyes locked onto her.

One of the guys piped up to Snake Man, “Boss, you just take it easy. Let us go grab her for you.”

One of the men, totally blinded by desire, immediately got hard when he saw her. Without waiting for Snake Man to say anything, he dashed forward, unable to control himself.

Seeing this, the rest weren’t about to be outdone. They rubbed their hands together, itching to jump in and get a piece of the action.

But they weren’t completely clueless. The woman looked like trouble, so they figured they’d let that idiot be the nail that stuck and see how it played out.

Sure enough, the guy who rushed forward didn’t even get close to Mindy before he was engulfed by a wall of flames. He let out a single scream before being incinerated to ashes in an instant.

The whole thing happened in a split second. Before anyone could even react, the guy was already gone, reduced to nothing out ash by the blazing flames.

The guys behind him, who had been itching to jump in, suddenly froze, their bodies trembling and their eyes wide with

fear.

Dead silence fell over the place. They could’ve heard a pin drop.

Snake Man couldn’t help but stand up from his seat. He kept a cool face, but inside, he was tense as hell.

So, fire power, huh? Guess you’re that pretty base chief everyone’s been talking about.” He sized Mindy up, his eyes lickering with contempt.

Sure, a fifth–level fire–powered human is tough, but compared to me, the Serpent King, she’s just not worth mentioning, he hought. ‘Her fire powers might counter mine a bit, which could be a hassle, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.

He strolled over to Mindy, eyeing her up and down like she was some piece of merchandise. “Not bad. You really are a rare

Snake Man just shrugged, pretending to be sorry. “Your people sure are loyal, huh? But you saw it yourself. Follow me, and you live.

“Go against me, and you’re toast. Just play nice and stick to my rules, and I’ll make sure you get everything you want?

His crew hurried over, but none dared get too close, still spooked by the fiery show Mindy had just put on.

One of them crowed, puffing up with bravado. “From now on, Blaze Haven’s got a new name. Blaze Dominion. Our boss is the one and only king around here.

“And you’d better get the base affairs sorted and hand everything over to us. After that, your only job is to serve the king”

Before he could even finish his sentence, the guy grabbed his head like it was about to explode, rolling on the ground in agony, like he was getting hit with some kind of mind–crushing curse.

“Ah! It hurts. It hurts so much, the man cried.

Snake Man’s eyes narrowed, instantly alert. He shot a glare at the Base Truck’s door and then threw out his hand, sending a powerful force straight at the vehicle.

He thought the truck would be blown to bits, but instead, a soft yet unyielding breeze blocked his attack. It felt so light that everyone sensed a gentle wind passing by.

Snake Man’s face changed dramatically as he staggered back several steps. He knew exactly how strong his attack was. Even a fifth–level powered human could’ve been killed by it. Yet it was shrugged off like nothing.

His men, clueless about what had just happened, kept egging him on. “Boss, don’t go easy on them! If you don’t make them obey, they’ll never listen!”

Everyone knew how powerful Snake Man was, so they just assumed he was holding back because the woman was so stunning.

After all, they were all men. They thought it was only natural for him to get distracted by a beauty like her.

While they kept up their bravado, no one noticed the shock on Snake Man’s face. They were still acting all cocky, jabbering away without a care.

Finally, Frank stepped out of the truck. When he saw the miserable state his wife and daughter were in, rage exploded inside

Daddy!” Molly’d already helped Joan get dressed, but the moment she saw Frank, the little girl who’d been holding it ogether completely broke down, throwing herself into his arms and sobbing uncontrollably.

‘Daddy, they’re all bad guys! They tried to hurt us!” Molly wailed, her voice choked with tears.

Frank gently wiped the tears from Molly’s cheeks, hugging her tightly to comfort her. “Molly, good girl. Take Mom and go get changed. Daddy’s going to get revenge for you.”

Molly lifted her head, eyes still swimming with tears as she looked at him. “Okay, Daddy. Be careful.”

‘Sure, Frank replied.

Once Molly led Joan and the other women from the base away, Frank’s gentle gaze turned savage, bloodlust flickering in his

eyes.

He locked his sights on the dozen men before him, eyes cold and hungry, like a predator sizing up its prey.

Suddenly, Snake Man broke the silence. “No wonder that woman made it as base chief. Looks like you’re the real mastermind behind the scenes, huh?”

He gave Frank a once–over, clicking his tongue, ‘Impressive strength. Shame you won’t live to see the sunrise.”

As he spoke, Snake Man morphed into a giant serpent, his flat head towering high above Frank, staring down at him with a chilling, predatory gaze.

Compared to Mindy’s unique abilities, this powerhouse of a man was clearly a far greater threat.

Just as Snake Man was about to strike, a few more folks came out of the vehicle.

The King Cobra’s vertical pupils narrowed in an instant. This new guy was even scarier. He suddenly felt a chill running down his spine.

Jagger, always the carefree type, jumped out of the truck, and his eyes were all over the place, checking out everything. “So, this is my wife’s base, huh? What’s that over there? Wait a minute, they’re actually growing veggies here!

“Holy crap, these veggies must’ve mutated or something. They’re massive! Are they edible?”

Then, as if he’d just noticed the King Cobra flicking its tongue at him. Jagger picked his nose without caring how disgusting it looked.

“So, you’re the one trying to take my woman’s base?” Jagger asked.

The King Cobra turned to Mindy and spoke in a raspy, human–like voice, “Beautiful women are always troubles. Figures. If she can run a base, there’s gotta be a bunch of men propping her up.”

Even though this guy made Snake Man feel like he was finally facing a real challenger, Snake Man figured beating him wouldn’t be impossible, just a bit more hassle.

Jagger was pissed. He pointed at the King Cobra and let loose a string of curses. “You scrawny earthworm, what the hell are you babbling about? She’s not my wife!”

He kept sneaking glances at the truck, worried Phantom Zombie, who was newly awakened, might overhear.

Crap, if she hears this and decides she doesn’t want me, what am I gonna do?‘ he thought. ‘Hell no, nobody messes with my rep. I gotta teach him a lesson.‘

Right then, Emily and the rest of the crew piled out of the truck.

The powered humans across from them just looked on with utter disdain. “Seriously? All you’ve got are a bunch of old geezers, women, and even a couple of kids? Man, this is killing me!” one of them jeered, bursting out laughing.
