Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 861

Nicholas was stunned. When he realized what Janice had just said, his expression turned furious. "Janice! What do you think you're doing, throwing tantrums like a child? Do you think marriage is some kind of game?"

Janice suddenly felt a deep, indescribable grievance.

Why did both Wade and Nicholas see her as so reckless and selfish? Why did they think she was just throwing a tantrum?

"I'm serious!" she said firmly.

Annoyed, Nicholas stood up. "I think you've been spoiled rotten. Wade's such a good guy. How long do you plan to keep acting like a spoiled child? Besides, why do you think we had to finalize things so quickly? That's because we're going to work closely in business! This is the most stable relationship!"

He didn't want to bother with Janice's mood swings. After saying that, he went upstairs.

After all, Janice had been carefree since she was young. She would be fine after throwing a fit.

There was no need to make a big deal out of it.

Janice felt like something was stuck in her throat. She didn't understand why no one took her emotional outbursts seriously. She was an adult. She knew how to take responsibility for her words and actions.

But now, things were far from resolved. She had to calm herself down first. There would be other solutions.

Still, she couldn't help feeling sad.

Janice thought about calling Ariel but stopped herself. It was late. Ariel would worry about her.

She considered calling Chad but feared he would mock her for being weak.

Janice lowered her head and sniffled. "It's no big deal. Things will work out in the end."

She could only comfort herself with that.

When she woke the next morning, the sun was already high in the sky. Janice got up and looked at the clock. It was nearly 10:00 am.

Grace had already left but called her. "Jan, are you up yet?"

Janice turned over and got up to wash. "Yeah, Mom. Where are you?"

Worse, she didn't see Grace. Instead, she saw Wade and Alicia standing beside him with a faint smile.

Alicia looked much more refined. She wore a fitted sweater dress that accentuated her curves. Her long curls fell gracefully over her shoulders, making her look gentle yet radiant. She looked like someone who needed protection.

Plus, she had a great personality and was kind to everyone.

When she looked up and spoke to Wade, her eyes curved in a charming smile.

Janice understood the difference between herself and Alicia.

Who wouldn't like a woman like Alicia?

Still, Janice felt uneasy. She turned to leave.

Alicia was the first to notice Janice and immediately called out, "Jan?"

Wade turned around, his gaze fixed on Janice's back.
