Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 862

Janice frowned and reluctantly turned around.

Alicia hurriedly walked up to her. "You're here! Come inside. It's pretty cold out today."

Janice pressed her lips tightly. "No, thanks. I have other things to do."

She wanted to leave.

Alicia chuckled. "Didn't you come here to tell me your wedding dress preferences?"

Janice was stunned. "What?"

Alicia smiled softly, but a hint of hidden emotion flickered in her eyes. "You didn't know? I'm designing Wade's outfit and yours. After all, I'm a wedding dress designer, so your mom suggested I take care of it."

Janice thought this was utterly ridiculous.

Her love rival was going to design her wedding dress? As if she wasn't hurt enough already.

"You don't need to do that." She refused and tried to walk away.

But Wade had already approached them. "Your mom told me the outfits need to be finalized. The task has been given to Allie."

Janice looked up at him. "Do you think Ms. Newman is being burdened?"

Or did he feel that Alicia was wronged?

Wade noticed the sharpness in her tone. It seemed last night's tensions hadn't yet passed. He met her gaze without avoidance. "If you don't want to trouble her, you don't have to ask your mom to have Allie do it."

After all, only Janice knew Alicia was a wedding dress designer. Grace did not. If Janice hadn't mentioned it, this whole thing might never have happened.

Janice found it hard to believe. "Me?"

Did Wade really think she was deliberately making things difficult for Alicia?

No wonder Alicia had put on that uneasy look earlier.

If Alicia wanted to design it, so be it.

Alicia didn't expect this from the usually impulsive and straightforward Janice. She quietly observed Janice for a few seconds before nodding. "Sure."

Janice looked straight at Wade. The overwhelming sense of injustice was unbearable. She wanted to piss someone off, especially that specific person who cared about Wade.

"Since you're here and we're discussing wedding outfits, why not try a few styles with me from the shop's collection?"

Alicia paused mid-action without even realizing it.

Meanwhile, Janice met Wade's every expression with a steady gaze.

Alicia quietly turned to leave, like she didn't want to disturb them.

Wade stared at Janice and suddenly understood she was throwing a tantrum. He coldly asked, "Didn't you want to break off the engagement?"
