The call lasted a long time. Over the years, I had searched for news of Stephen. Many rumors said he was dead. My heart had gone from anxiously hoping to gradually growing numb.
For Moon-Shadowed Pack, I also hired some of Stephen’s old contacts for difficult jobs, paying high fees each time. I knew after Stephen left, those men struggled. But people would change. The friends who once would have died for him had long since lost their old loyalty.
I tried to pay for Leonardo’s life. I even sent the down payment, but they kept delaying.
After I finished explaining, Stephen’s tone turned cold. “Leave that to me.”
“Stephen, you just got back. Maybe we should let this go for now?” Honestly, I just wanted Natalie to lose her support from the Silver-Maned Pack. But for Stephen to handle this right after his return scared me. Times were different now, and Leonardo’s status wasn’t ordinary. Stephen’s men were right—it wasn’t a good time to make a move.
“I told you, I won’t let you be wronged. Even the most difficult task, I’ll do it for you,” Stephen said calmly. “This is what I want to do most after returning to the Void Conclave. Protecting you. And about Natalie, Alexander’s daughter… what do you plan to do?”
“She stays untouched for now. I’ll deal with her personally,” I said, my voice low. Natalie was now bonded to Leonardo. If she died, the assets wouldn’t come to me-they’d just go to someone else. Besides, her death alone wouldn’t satisfy my hatred. Alexander chose to spite me this way. I wanted him to watch from the afterlife as I tormented his daughter. I wanted Natalie to lose her lover, lose everything. I would destroy all her hope and let pain and despair torment her until she died.
Alexander’s debt would be repaid by his daughter. That was only fair.
“Alright,” Stephen agreed. “It’s your call.”
After the serious talk, he asked how I’d been lately. My answer naturally put him at ease. Even though Alexander didn’t leave Moon-Shadowed Pack to me, the connections and wealth I’d built over the years were enough for a comfortable life. The Watson family didn’t dare cross me either. If I needed something, they had to cooperate.
I had a plan. I would use the ruins of Moon-Shadowed Pack to rebuild my own territory and busing empire in Maritime City. When that happened, the Moon-Shadowed Pack would be

seemed pleased with my ambition. “You haven’t changed a bit. But I’m glad. My e has grown up, stronger than before.”

“Of course. I told you I wouldn’t let you down,” I said softly, a dark smile touching my lips. My suffering wasn’t for nothing. Every single debt the world owed me would be paid back.
“Good. This time, I’ll make sure I’m with you every step of the way,” Stephen smiled.
My heart softened a little. “Stephen, can I see you?”
“No rush. We’ll meet when your business is finished,” he said after a pause. I caught the unspoken meaning and didn’t press further.
After hanging up, I felt a rare sense of lightness. I tossed my clutch aside and took out the documents Vincent had asked me to gather. A scornful smile touched my lips. Even the Moon Goddess seemed to be helping me.
I couldn’t wait to see Natalie’s reaction when she found out Leonardo was responsible for her father’s death.
Aaliyah’s POV:
Back in Maritime City, the afternoon sky was as dark as dusk, heavy clouds hanging low. A storm was coming. The air felt oppressive.
I sat on the sofa in the hotel suite, my head bowed low. Cameron’s assistant and lawyer had been in the room for a while before Cameron finally walked over from the balcony where he’d been smoking.
He sat across from me, looked at me for a long time, then spoke calmly, “Nothing to say to me?”
I didn’t respond, but my breathing grew heavier. I was too ashamed to look at him. I thought after what I did, Gallop Energy would sue me, and Cameron would hate me. Instead, he spent a lot of effort getting me out on bail. The lawyer told me on the way here that Cameron would handle the legal case for me. Since my actions didn’t cause severe damage, Gallop Energy decided to share responsibility, compensate the Scott Group, and try to reduce the sentence. With Cameron pulling strings, I was now free to move under supervision. He was willing to protect me.
Thinking about his attitude before I left, I understood he had feelings for me.
Cameron raised a hand. His assistant and lawyer left the room, leaving just the two of us in the living room. He picked up a glass, poured some water, and pushed it toward me.
“Drink some water,” he said.
I clenched my jaw and finally looked up at him. His features were sharp. Under the bright light, he looked every bit the aristocrat, while I felt like a clown, utterly humiliated.
