Chapter 242 Asking For A Favor
“Do you often run into situations like this during your business dinners?” Ayla asked.

“Too often,” Halle replied. “No matter how well you do, there are always a few crazy people. You just get used to being annoyed.”
Ayla’s expression darkened.
“What are you planning to do?” Halle sensed a hint of something dangerous in her tone.
Ayla didn’t want to see her upset. “If Rolf won’t apologize, then let his father come and do it himself.”
Halle blinked in disbelief. “How would that even work? Rolf doesn’t take us seriously–why would his father?”
That evening, Rolf went to see Troy.
Howard and Skyla were also there.
Howard wanted revenge against a rival who drove their company to the brink. Unable to find the hacker who created Aqualith–style news, he settled for asking Skyla for help.
After evaluating the situation, Skyla knew her skills couldn’t seriously damage the rival, but she could replicate the fake news.
Howard wasn’t thrilled with the plan but didn’t want to drag things out any longer.
So he teamed up with Skyla.
Skyla exposed the rival company’s scandal, and their stock price fell today.
That was good news.
Howard came specifically to celebrate.
He was growing more and more fond of Skyla.
After finding out about all this, Rolf admired her even more and was about to bring up what had happened with Ayla and Halle.
Suddenly, Conrad called.
Rolf was startled. His father rarely called at this hour.
He had a bad feeling and stepped outside to take the call.
The moment he answered, Conrad’s furious voice blasted through the line. “Get over here right now!”
Rolf was stunned. “Dad, what’s… what’s wrong?”

“Dare to ask what’s wrong? You know exactly!” Conrad shouted. “If you’re not here within half an hour, I’ll make sure you regret it!”
Rolf stared at the ended call, dumbfounded, his brow tightly furrowed.
Lately, he’d been running the family’s tech subsidiary, frequently exchanging information and resources with Troy and Skyla. He was working hard, and the only thing missing was knowing who developed LugiX.
Just yesterday, he was praised at home.
Even his eldest sister thought he was doing well.
What trouble could he have caused?
Rolf was in an extremely bad mood. He thought it over and couldn’t figure out any reason–until he wondered, could it really be… Halle?
That was the last thing he wanted to believe.
The cooperation was pushed by his father, but Halle was no match for them. What kind of influence could she have to make his father come down personally?
Besides, the Storm Group backing Halle was probably just a front. Many in business like to inflate their status to intimidate others, and it often works. Halle was surely doing the same. If she truly had Storm Group’s backing, she’d probably look down on the Alvarado Group’s cooperation.
Rolf was completely baffled.
His father’s assistant had already sent the address.
This was serious.
Rolf told Troy and the others he had something to handle, then drove off alone.
Conrad was cautious but open–minded. As long as no big mistakes were made, he never lost his temper with his children.
He preferred to encourage and educate.
Rolf was naturally nervous and called his eldest sister on the way.
“Lisa, what’s going on with Dad?”
“Come see for yourself,” Lisa Alvarado said.
“Don’t give me riddles. I’m freaking out here.”
Lisa wanted to teach him a lesson. “Serves you right.”
Rolf wasn’t bothered. “Don’t tell me Halle actually got Mr. Storm to show up. So what’s really going on? I can’t figure it out.”
Lisa hung up on him.

Rolf tossed his phone onto the passenger seat. The spot where Halle had thrown that glass still throbbed.
He thought to himself, It better be Halle coming after me.
If so, he definitely wouldn’t let her off easy!
Back then, when Ayla said she’d stand up for Halle, Halle didn’t believe it. It was still early, so she took Ayla to entertain another CEO all afternoon.
That night, as Halle was about to drive Ayla home, Ayla suddenly said, “Wait, there’s one more thing to take care of.”
Then, right in front of her, Ayla pulled up Draven’s phone number.
Halle grabbed her hand. “What are you doing? I’d love to use your connections, but I’m not that desperate. Let’s meet Mr. Storm at the right time. No need to specially call him out.”
Ayla glanced at her with a mischievous look. “I need him to do me a favor.”
“Damn!” Halle was stunned, then looked Ayla up and down like she was seeing a stranger. “You’ve really changed. You’re even able to act tough with your brother now.” Then she tapped Ayla’s head. “Asking him for a favor? You’re just a secretary–how do you ask him for a favor? Are you trying to seduce him?”
Ayla twitched her mouth. “Watch your language.”
“What else could it be?” Halle told her to put away her phone. “I don’t take Rolf seriously. We already smashed him up–that was satisfying. From now on, let’s stay away from anyone connected to Troy.”
