Ayla.

She instinctively replied, Mm,and looked at him.

Draven was sitting to the side, raising his black mug. This is your home. Do whatever you want. You don’t need to worry about me.

Ayla felt a little embarrassed. He had clearly seen her slacking off carlier. She spoke honestly, Mr. Storm, I’m still not used to this. I can’t be that relaxed yet.It wasn’t easy for her.

Draven thought for a moment, then said, From now on, don’t call me Mr. Storm when we’re at home.

Then what should I call you?Ayla asked.

My name.

Ayla froze for a second.

Draven looked at her, urging her to try. Ayla hesitated for two seconds, then said, Draven.” Strangely, saying his name made her feel a little more relaxed.

Draven made a low sound. Yes. That’s good. We’ll take it slow. Don’t see me as your boss at home. You’ll get used to it quickly.

He added, Just treat me like a roommate. If you don’t, living together will be exhausting for you.

Maybe it was his voiceor maybe she was just tiredbut Ayla started feeling sleepy. She heard everything he said but didn’t answer. Ayla looked at him, then her eyes drifted up to his hair.

Draven noticed her stare. What is it?

Ayla asked. “Why didn’t you dry your hair? Trying to keep it healthy?

Draven froze for a moment.

He had just washed it. When he heard her moving, he dried it quickly with a towel and came out right away. I’ll dry it before I go to bed.

Alright.Ayla yawned and pushed herself up from the couch. I’m going to sleep. Mrno, Draven, you should sleep early too.”

That sentence was like a switch being turned off. Sleep washed over her all at once. She took a

few steps forward and bumped into the coffeetable corner, almost losing her balance.

Draven moved fast and caught her. The force pulled her into his arms. Ayla was wearing thin loungewear, and through the fabric, they could almost feel the outline of each other’s bodies.

There was no dramatic pause or long staring like in TV shows. Once she was steady, Draven let go. Be careful,he said.

He had just reached out naturally. Nothing awkward about it. Ayla nodded. I’m just really tired.

Go sleep.

Mm.” Ayla rubbed her temples, her eyes half closed, and walked toward the bathroom. She had washed her hair earlier that day. Now she only needed a shower and to brush her teeth. A fast cleanup, then straight to bed.

Ayla fell into rest easily, but Draven did not.

He stayed alone on the couch. The place where Ayla had leaned on him felt strangely hot.

He could still sense her warmth from that short moment. Even her light scent seemed to stay with him, filling his breath.

His mind would not calm down.

Draven let out a quiet sigh and tugged at the hem of his shirt to cover himself.

He turned off the TV and went to his room.

In the mirror, his skin looked pale and cool, his expression distant and unapproachable. But his body felt the oppositewarm, restless, unable to settle.

The last time this happened in Aqualith, it was because of the medicine. Now, just a small touch had caused this reaction.

Draven began to question whether his past self had truly been so controlled. Back then, he only felt urges a few times a year and handled them alone, like a saint.

But now, he knew for certain that he was no saint. If anything, he was heading toward the opposite extreme.

He stared at his reflection for a long time. His eyes were filled with a desire he rarely allowed himself to seeunfamiliar, intense, and bright.

Actually, he didn’t need to move in with Ayla so soon. But he couldn’t wait. He had already dragged himself here just to stay close to her, even if it meant causing problems for himself.

And he didn’t mind.

Even though his body was tense, Draven accepted it. A cold shower would help him cool down.

Half an hour later, he was done and cleaned up.

Then he blowdried his hair.

His bed sheets were pure black silk, while everything else in the room was white. That was the look he liked best.

The bedroom was not big, but it was more than enough for sleeping.

Even if it were smaller, he still would have moved in.

Draven lay flat on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. The lights were off. In the quiet night, he could hear only his heartbeat and his breathing. Slowly, he started to relax.

He closed his eyes, ready to sleep. Just as he began to drift off, he heard a sound outside the door. Draven was instantly alert.

He checked the time. One in the morning.

The main bedroom was right next to his. Even with soundproof walls, movement could still be heard.

What was going on?

Why was Ayla awake?

Draven hesitated. Should he get up and take a look? It was his first night staying in her home. Maybe she wasn’t used to it yet. Waking up at night might be normal for her. If he went out suddenly, would he scare her?

Draven chose to stay in bed, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. But he still couldn’t sleep. After about 30 minutes, he heard some movement next door. Ayla must have returned to her room. He waited another ten minutes. Everything went quiet again.

Only then did Draven finally let himself sleep.
