After Martin’s birthday, she would make one last trip to Storm Group and officially resign from it.
Today was Friday, and she happened to be at Centurion Entertainment.
She got a call from Troy.
Draven had told her that Troy had returned to the country five days ago. If Troy caused any trouble, she should contact him anytime.
Martin’s birthday was coming up soon, so Troy wouldn’t dare do anything reckless.
She answered the call.
Troy’s familiar voice came through the phone, deep and cold, with a hint of teasing because of the unexpected, “Congratulations on your new identity, Ms. Keaton.”
When Ayla heard this, her assistant, Iris Prinsell, stood at the doorway and knocked.
The office door was open.
Ayla looked up. Iris was holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Ayla signaled for her to come in, and Iris placed the bouquet on the desk. On top was a card, with several bold words written on it.
Congratulations on the opening of Centurion Entertainment.
It was signed by Troy.
Iris was recommended by Halle and was very capable.
She handled errands, and these past few days, she’d received all sorts of flower baskets celebrating the opening of Centurion Entertainment. Each sender had a more impressive background than the last.
Iris only slowly realized she’d underestimated Centurion Entertainment. She’d thought it was just a small company, but it was nothing like that. The boss had amazing connections.
For example, the CEO of the Alvarado Group, some big names in the Zheron elite circle, and even the CEO and vice president of Storm Group had sent their congratulations.
She thought that would be all, but even the CEO of Winston Group had sent flowers.

Iris found herself incredibly curious about Ayla.

Ayla frowned and looked coldly at the message. She told Iris to leave her alone for now.
Troy had resources and could find out anything she did, but sending flowers and a congratulatory message? She couldn’t figure out what he was planning. This was so unusual, because she’d gotten used to him not caring about anything she did.
“I’m downstairs at your company. Either come down, or I’ll come up.”
That commanding tone again. Ayla hated being bossed around. “Then you better come up!”
Troy replied coldly, “Are you sure you want me to come up, Ayla?”
Ayla honestly didn’t; she just wanted nothing to do with him, but he never let her go.
But Ayla wasn’t the same as before. She wasn’t scared of Troy making a scene, so she just asked, “What do you want?”
Normally, it couldn’t be anything good.
But then she was surprised to hear Troy say, “At this time of day, I can only invite you to a meal. There’s something I want to talk about.”
“Say it over the phone.
“Ayla, Grandpa’s birthday is the day after tomorrow. I didn’t come to give you trouble.” Troy’s voice was low.
Ayla stared at the words on the card, her expression dark.
She remembered how unpleasant things had gotten last time. She really didn’t want to have a meal with Troy.
But he was right-the day after tomorrow was Martin’s birthday, so Troy wouldn’t dare do anything impulsive.
After three years as a couple, she knew how much Troy cared about his image in the Winstons.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have forced himself tot on a show of affection for her in front of Martin
Ayla hung up and went downstairs.
Sure enough, Troy was waiting out front. He had no driver, driving himself.

Ayla walked slowly to the car and soon saw Troy whom she hadn’t seen for almost a month.
He was dressed all in white, staring straight ahead with a cold look. When he heard her approach, he turned his head.
Troy had fair skin, and there was always a faint gloominess in his eyes and brows, a natural sense of distance.
His gaze was cold as ever.
Even though they hadn’t seen each other in a month, he was still just as familiar.
Troy looked Ayla up and down. She was in a business suit, looking sharper and more professional than ever, her eyes even more piercing-totally different from the woman who used to rest in his arms.
At last, he met her gaze. After two seconds, he said, “Get in the car.”
“No.” Ayla replied, “You drive. I’ll take a cab and follow you.”
Troy sneered, “Are you that scared of me? Didn’t you find Draven to back you up? What are you so afraid of?”
Ayla shot back, “I’m not afraid of you. I’m afraid of psychos, and you just happen to be one.”
Troy actually let out a laugh of frustration.
Ayla checked her phone. “My ride is already here.”
She didn’t care if he was upset. She walked a few steps away and got in the cab.
Troy’s expression darkened. Before their divorce, whenever he went to pick up Ayla, she would always be waiting at the destination, ready to get in the car right away. Now she was completely different.
