Chapter 335 Where Are You Right Now?
Chapter 335 Where Are You Right Now?
Instead, letting go of love made her world wider than ever.
Ayla honestly thought it was time for them both to move on.
There was nothing left to say. Ayla put her phone in her bag and stood up.
Troy didn’t move, but his eyes followed her the entire time.

Once, Ayla was the one who couldn’t look away from Troy. Now, the tables had turned.
Before leaving, Ayla paused and looked at Troy. I was really surprised when you said you wanted to get back together. But I want to ask you something.”
Troy said, “Go ahead.”
“When you decided you wanted to be with me again, was there still a place for Skyla in your mind?”
Ayla didn’t care about his answer. She didn’t even want to hear it. She only wanted to remind Troy to think it over.
“Did you bring her a present from this last trip?
Troy was silent.
“Your face says it all… you did.”
Ayla smiled like it meant nothing. “You can’t accept me going to a movie with Draven, but somehow you think I should accept you crossing the line with another woman? All those promises you just made, saying you’d treat me better, you can’t even keep them. Troy, I don’t think you’re suited for marriage or relationships. Honestly, you’re just a jerk.”
Troy’s face turned stone cold.
Ayla liked to focus on the future. She never liked playing the revenge game, because revenge meant she hadn’t really moved on. If she plotted for revenge, she was letting a terrible person take up more of her time and attention.
The moment she got her divorce papers, all her resentment for Troy disappeared.
Now, any anger she felt came only from Troy pestering her after the divorce.
So on Martin’s birthday, she was ready to make clean break with the Winstons.

Troy clenched his fists, watching her walk away, and sneered, “Yeah, I’m trash-but you loved me for three years, didn’t you?”
Ayla didn’t stop. She opened the door and left, closing it behind her.
The sound of the door slamming felt like a slap across Troy’s face.
His whole life, he’d been obsessed with outshining Draven. He never had room in his heart for anyone else. Now he’d wasted so much energy on Ayla, and this was what he got in return?
Troy ground his teeth.
He’d even gone to the auction himself and brought Ayla a gift. He had put way more thought into it than Skyla’s gift. Now, the gift was just sitting at home, never to be given out.
He’d planned to give it to Ayla after she agreed to get back together.
Now she just walked out on him?
She just left him here all alone!
Troy’s face was dark with rage, but he didn’t want to explain anything to Ayla anymore. He’d never explained himself before and wasn’t about to start.
He’d already lost enough dignity asking her to dinner and lowering himself like this.
No way was he going to bring up the gift.
Troy called his driver to bring the car around. He went to a private coffee club alone. When he was in a bad mood, he always wanted to be alone somewhere quiet-a habit since childhood. Whenever his mother criticized him, he couldn’t argue back, so he would just go off and deal with it by himself. It was still the same now.
Only Max knew where he liked to go.
Max called him, but Troy didn’t answer. Not long after, Max showed up.
Max sat down across from him and looked him up and down. “Didn’t you say you had good news for me? Why are you here alone again?”
That only added to Troy’s gloom. “Ask me againn a couple days.”
Ayla had once said she fell for him at first sight. And now, after he’d lowered himself to coax her, she still didn’t appreciate it!

Even she wasn’t allowed to treat him that way!

After leaving the restaurant, Ayla replayed the evening in her mind. Things with Troy were different now-she truly didn’t care anymore, and that put her in control.
When you don’t care, no one can hurt you.
That was why she didn’t argue with him. She didn’t want to get drawn into a shouting match.
Nothing he said could upset her now.
Ayla calmly hailed a cab. Once she got in, she finally saw Draven’s message.
“Are you okay?”
Ayla replied, “I’m fine, I am heading back to the office.”
She was about to turn off her phone and close her eyes when Draven suddenly started a video call.
Ayla froze.
She had never video-called with Draven before.
Normally she would text instead of call, and call instead of video-call-video-call was her last
choice.
This was a surprise.
But she picked up anyway.
As soon as the call connected, Draven’s face filled the screen. He didn’t bother with angles; he was so close that even through the phone, his sharp features were clear.
He had a small frown, a touch of worry in his eyes.
Ayla instantly understood why he was calling.
He wanted to make sure she was safe.
Since she knew exactly what he wanted, Ayla showed him she was in a cab.
“I’m almost back at the office. It’s all good.” After saying that, she added, “Where are you right
now?”
