Ayla let out a breath of relief. She had successfully pulled it off

She realized that to convince Kayla, she really to act convincingly, down to every little detail.
Just then, a waiter wheeled in a cart of food.
Once the dishes were all served, Kayla suddenly bulled out a card and handed it over
Draven didn’t move, “What’s this for?”
Kayla replied, “Take it, it’s a welcome gift for you girlfriend.”
Ayla blinked.
Draven immediately took it and placed it in from of Ayla.
Kayla hadn’t spoken to Ayla at first, wanting to give her time to adjust. After a few exchanges with Draven, the atmosphere had cased considerably. Now she looked directly at Ayla and spoke, “There’s one hundred million in the card -well, minus a dollar-lots of nines, I wish you two a long, happy relationship.”
Ayla was stunned, staring at Draven with a bewildered expression.
“Keep it,” he said.
Ayla hesitated. “I can’t…”
Kayla laughed. “It I knew what you liked, I wouldn’t have just sent money. But I didn’t feel like overthinking it. Money’s the easiest. Ayla, just tale it.”
Having experienced Troy’s mother’s coldness a harshness, Ayla was struck by the stark contrast with Kayla.
This is my habit. I usually use money to spoil haven too,” Kayla said with a smile.
Ayla knew there was no way to refuse, so she accepted it for now and thanked Kayla.
“No need to thank me,” Kayla said. “Now that youre with Draven, he can’t be stingy with you.” She tapped Draven lightly. “Are you spending on your girlfriend?”
Draven replied, “I’m not a child”
“Hah! What attitude is that? This is the first time 28 years you’re dating. No experience, no

knowledge-don’t act like you know everything about this.” Kayla didn’t hold back.
Ayla couldn’t get a word in.

But the scene was impressive. Draven was powerful and high-status; she had never seen anyone speak so freely to him before. And yet, Draven couldn’t argue back. This was pretty hard to imagine.
“A woman’s feelings are hard to guess,” Kayla continued. “You need to put in effort: plan little surprises, care for Ayla’s moods, and pay attention to her. Don’t just bury yourself in your own world anymore.”
Draven did not say anything.
“Did you hear me?” Kayla looked at him.
“Yes, got it.”
Kayla looked satisfied. Turning to Ayla, her expression softened, and her eyes were warm. “I’m telling him this because I know him. He’s hard to please at home, doesn’t talk much, and wouldn’t think to care for others. Dating him can be tough if you’re not careful. I want you to be happy with him. I want this relationship to nurture you and make you better-that’s my wish. So forgive me if I nag a little. If he’s cold, speak up. Don’t just let his bad habits slide.”
Even though Ayla was pretending, she was genuinely touched. Kayla was thinking of her well- being at every turn, not wanting her to be wronged.
And compared to her previous mother-in-law, the contrast was huge. Kayla was an excellent elder.
Before meeting, Ayla had assumed Kayla would be domineering.
The reality was completely different.
“Okay, I will,” Ayla said, still holding Draven’s hand. She smiled. “Actually, he treats me really well’
“Is that so? How well?”
Ayla felt as if she had been caught talking about him. Draven’s calm voice cut in. “Don’t interfere. Let’s eat.”
Kayla was momentarily speechless.
Elizabeth, sitting nearby, could barely contain her laughter. She had seen mother and son argue over trivial things before. Today, they exchanged a few jabs, but there was a warmth among the usual tension.

Ayla breathed a sigh of relief-she didn’t have to speak-but she also worried slightly, wondering if mother and son would clash.

She believed Kayla’s words even more: Draven might be cold to others, even to Kayla herself. But once she became familiar with him, she didn’t feel any of that coldness.
He wasn’t just warm; he always cared for her and looked after her.
In her eyes, he was simply perfect.
With Elizabeth helping to ease the atmosphere, Kayla didn’t fuss, and they all had dinner together.
Draven released her hand, naturally helping her with food.
Kayla noticed these small gestures.
Throughout the meal, Kayla didn’t question Ayla’s background, chatting lightly with Elizabeth about daily life, like their exercise routines-natural and genuine.
She never looked into Ayla’s family history, uninterested in her background. As Draven had said, family status didn’t matter; what mattered was that she was a woman.
Still, Ayla couldn’t help but wonder-did Kayla really not care?
The Winstons had been very concerned about such things, often using it to prick her confidence.
