After she finished speaking, Ayla went to the walk-in closet first. She picked out a set of pajamas, then went into the bathroom.
The bathroom was full of damp steam, but there was no warmth at all.
Did Draven take a cold shower?
Ayla turned the hot water on. The water crashed loudly onto the tile floor.
Draven had been sitting calmly on the couch, watching TV. Still, the sound of the shower caught his attention.
He quickly shut down the kind of thoughts a gentleman should not have. Even so, a few unwanted images slipped through.
He told himself he should probably take another cold shower to clear his head.
Inside the bathroom, Ayla washed her hair and showered. She put on her pajamas and blow- dried her hair until it was completely dry. She still didn’t come out, because she needed to wash her underwear.
She didn’t see any of Draven’s clothes. He must have thrown them away.
The pajamas she was wearing were new ones Kayla had brought over. They didn’t fit very well, so Ayla decided to wash her clothes and wear them tomorrow.
She took a long time. Finally, Draven knocked on the door. “Are you okay?”
Ayla had just finished wringing out the fabric. “I’m washing my clothes.”
She opened the door a little and poked her head out. “Can you get me two hangers?”
Draven already knew what she was washing. He quickly brought the hangers over, handed them to her, and left right away.
Ayla could feel his embarrassment.
She felt a little awkward too, but once he got embarrassed, she felt strangely calmer.
She hung the clothes in the shower area. It would not be used again tonight, and the frosted glass door blocked the view anyway. Even if someone used the toilet, nothing could be seen.
After she finished, Ayla walked out.

Draven was sitting on the couch, watching the movie she had been watching earlier. Since he was sitting down and there was no coffee table in front of him, his legs looked even longer than usual.
Ayla walked over. Standing there, she reached out and touched his hair without meaning to.
It was thick and very soft.
Without hair gel holding it in place, it looked light and fluffy. It softened the sharp, cold air he usually carried.
The moment Ayla’s fingers brushed his hair, Draven thought that if he were her official boyfriend, he would pull her into his arms, kiss her a few times, and pin her down…
But now, he could only endure it. His expression stayed calm.
Her closeness had come from the trust he had earned over a long time. He wouldn’t scare her
away.
Ayla quickly pulled her hand back. “Your hair is dry already. I guess I stayed in there a long time.”
Draven just looked at her.
“Let’s watch a bit more and then sleep,” Ayla said She sat down next to him, leaving about three feet of space between them.
The lights in the living room were very soft, perfect for winding down.
Sleeping was a sensitive topic tonight, especially sensitive.
Logically, Ayla and Draven were only pretending to be a couple. There were no romantic feelings involved. Staying in the same room for one night was something they should have expected the moment they agreed to fake the relationship. It was something they could have discussed openly and calmly,
Yet there was a strange feeling in the air that stopped Ayla from bringing it up.
No matter who spoke first, it felt suffocating somehow. The mood was oddly heavy. Uncomfortably so,
Ayla quietly tasted that odd feeling again and again. Only then did it hit her; this feeling had a name. It was suggestive.
Ayla was wordless.
Suggestive?

Deep down, Ayla believed she should be able to handle this with case. But the truth was, she couldn’t. At least not right now. Her throat felt tight, and she did not want to be the first to say anything. Because she felt shy. Yes-shy.
That was exactly why she knew the charged tension in the air. Suggestive feelings messed with your head. It pulled you out of your usual calm and rational state.
Ayla was already regretting touching Draven’s hair earlier. She just couldn’t resist testing that soft, fluffy texture.
Still, they couldn’t be stuck like this forever.
“I’ll sleep on the couch,” Draven said.
“Are you tired?” Ayla asked.
They spoke at the same time. Then both fell silent again.
The air dropped into a terrifying quiet.
No one said another word.
Oh no, this is insane.
Ayla wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.
She knew where these feelings came from. It was because she had noticed how much Draven cared about her, more than necessary.
Still, she wasn’t sure if she was right. What if she just overthinking it?
After all, Draven had been single for so many years. How could he suddenly fall for someone?
So Ayla chose a strategy: act like she knew nothing. Stay the same as always. But in certain moments like this, feelings slipped through anyway. No one could fully control their heart.
The atmosphere was really off.
Ayla didn’t want to talk anymore. She had given up.
It would be perfect if she suddenly got sleepy, passed out on the couch, and didn’t have to deal with anything.
After another stretch of silence, she finally heard the low voice beside her.

“Ayla, Draven said softly, “I really want to stay with you tonight.”
Her heart jumped. She froze for two seconds before quietly answering, “Mm.” Then she asked, “Because of what happened at the estate?”
Draven asked in return, “Do you need someone with you?”
