Chapter 433 Long–Term Plans
“I don’t plan on getting married, Ayla admitted.
Halle was a little surprised. It took her a second to fully accept it. “I get it.”

She glanced in Draven’s direction, then looked away. “If you’re not getting married, then the only option is breaking up.”
Ayla nodded. “Yeah. Who dates someone for a lifetime? Draven wouldn’t spend his whole life on me either. Dating only has two endings. You either get married, or you break up.”
“Are you gonna tell Draven this?”
Ayla had thought about it. “If I tell him now, do you think he’ll break up with me?”
Halle said confidently, “Definitely not.”
Ayla said, “Then I’ll be honest with him.”
Halle said, “You really shouldn’t. You’ve only just started dating. The future is impossible to predict, and saying this now would just hurt the relationship. At the beginning, feelings are unstable anyway. Maybe you don’t even love each other that much yet. It’s only after spending time together and working things out that couples really click. A lot of couples grow more in love over time. Who knows? Your thoughts might change later, or you might break up within a year. Anything’s possible. Just enjoy the present. There’s only one thing you need to be sure of: Are you serious right now?
“Of course. I’m taking this seriously.”
“Then that’s enough. As long as you’re serious, it’s fine. Draven’s smart. He knows everything about you and Troy. If he thought you suddenly fell in love with him and wanted to spend your whole life with him, he’d probably wonder if you were being too naïve.
“Ayla, don’t worry. If Draven is sincere, he’ll take things slow with you, or… he might even guide you when the time comes.”
Halle grinned mischievously. “Who knows, you might end up completely played by Draven and fall straight into his trap without realizing it.”
Ayla ignored the second half of that. “He’s definitely serious. I can feel it.”
Halle looked at her closely for a long moment. “You talk like the two of you are gonna last forever.”
Ayla didn’t respond. She had no intention of getting married right now, and even in the future, that probably wouldn’t change.
She quickly changed the subject and started talking about work.
Ayla and Halle planned to return to Trensea today.
But Jackson suggested meeting them one more time, and there was still enough time.
Halle set the meeting for half an hour later.
Then Ayla received a call from Juliet.

Juliet almost never contacted her.
Ayla answered the phone.

“Ayla, your grandma suddenly woke up and is insisting on seeing your mom. I’ve stopped her for now, but she’s yelling about calling your dad. You need to come back right away.”
Ayla’s face changed instantly. “I’m in Aqualith. I’ll catch a flight back immediately.”
Halle noticed at once. “What happened?”
Ayla hung up. “My grandma wants to see my mom. I have to go back right now.”
Halle reacted quickly. “Okay, I’ll have my assistant rebook your ticket right away.”
Draven saw Ayla’s awful expression from a distance. He immediately left James and walked over. “What happened?”
Ayla looked at him. “I need to leave right now. They’re rebooking my flight.”
James followed over. “You’re leaving already?”
Ayla nodded.
Halle came over after ending her call. “The earliest flight is in two hours.”
Ayla clenched her teeth. Juliet was with Lillian, so nothing would happen to her. What Ayla was worried about was Lillian insisting on contacting that man.
Lillian had had dementia for many years. When Juliana passed away, Lillian didn’t know, so no one told her.
Calling that man would bring nothing good. Ayla instinctively rejected him. It would be best if there were no contact at all, forever.
While she was lost in thought, someone took her hand. The grip was firm and steady.
Ayla looked up.
Draven said in a low voice, “We’ll take a private jet. We’re leaving now.”
Ayla froze for a moment, then let out a breath.
The restlessness in her chest cooled instantly.
She really didn’t want to see that man, but there was no need to panic either.
Halle and James would leave later.
Ayla and Draven took the private jet back to Trensea.
Three hours later, Ayla finally arrived at the entrance of the nursing home.
Draven waited for her in the car.

On the way from the airstrip, Kaleb had messaged her. Lillian was confused again, so there was no need to
rush.
When she reached Lillian’s room, Juliet and Kaleb were both there.
Ayla exchanged a look with Kaleb. His expression was awful, and Juliet didn’t look much better.
It was probably because Kaleb had said something unpleasant. They clearly didn’t get along.
Lillian was knitting again, muttering to herself, saying it was for Juliana to wear.
“Even when your grandma’s confused, she still thinks about your mom and ignores me, even though I’m the one who’s been taking care of her,” Juliet said.
Kaleb pressed his lips together and turned his head away.
Ayla walked over. “Aunt Juliet, let’s talk.
“Kaleb, stay here and watch over Grandma.”
Kaleb said, “I know. You don’t need to remind me.”
