Chapter 445 His Threats
“This is my private business, It has nothing to do with you.”
Troy’s breathing grew heavy, “Ayla, what do you want me to do? Can’t I even be good to you?”
He honestly didn’t know what else to try.

Ayla felt a sharp sense of dissonance. Troy wasn’t someone who would normally say things like this, yet here.
he was.
Lowering his head even a little seemed to drain all his strength and patience. One concession, one soft word, and he immediately expected the result he wanted.
There was no such thing as an easy win like that.
Ayla had seen through Troy by now. Everything he was doing was just a temporary tactic to reach his goal.
Troy didn’t have the ability to love someone.
“Don’t waste your effort on me. I won’t tell you what to do either, because even if you did it, you still wouldn’t get what you want from me.”
Ayla spoke sincerely as she reminded him, “The things you’re saying now don’t come from your heart. You’re uncomfortable saying them, and I’m annoyed hearing them. Troy, let me go, and let yourself go too. Otherwise, you’re the one who’ll end up hurting.”
Troy’s face turned livid. Ayla spoke as if she were an outsider, just like Max had advised him. Telling him to give up. Telling him to stop trying, because there was no hope at all.
But Max was an outsider. He could say whatever heartless things he wanted.
Ayla was the one involved. Can she really not feel even a shred of the goodwill I’ve shown her?
How could she be so unmoved, so indifferent?
And she even used such a distant tone to “advise” me!
Troy was so angry that his head ached. “So I spent all this time and effort coming to see you, just to hear you tell me to give up? Do you really think that’s possible? You won’t even accept my goodwill. Then what do you want? Tell me. I can do it!”
In Ayla’s eyes, Troy was like a stubborn little brat. Did he really think asking the same question again and again would change anything?
She was willing to give him time to accept reality.
After all, it had taken her three years to accept that Troy didn’t love her and to finally decide on divorce.
Ayla genuinely felt she had a good temper. At least she patiently said to Troy, “For now, just don’t bother me.”
Troy’s first reaction was to take it as rejection. Then he thought about it and asked, “And you? After you cool down and think it through, will you accept me?”
Ayla brushed it off. “I don’t know.”

Troy’s expression cased a little. At least she hasn’t completely shut the door. I knew Ayla wouldn’t be that indifferent. My gestures of goodwill are working.
With that small promise, Troy pushed further. “Then you have to accept my money.”
“So you’re gonna force me again?” Ayla asked coldly.
Troy was displeased. “Then promise me this. Keep your listance from Draven, and don’t take his money!”
Ayla paused before saying, “Sure.”
“Are you brushing me off?” Troy really didn’t like her attitude. “Are you playing me again, like you did at Grandpa’s birthday?”
Ayla replied, “You can judge for yourself.”
Troy couldn’t think of what else to do if Ayla refused. At least she was listening now, which made him feel much better. His mood steadied. This trip wasn’t a waste. He hated doing pointless things, and hated even more putting in effort with no result.
Troy said, “Ayla, I don’t want to use money to buy you back, because I prefer pure feelings. I want you to love me just for me, with no worldly reasons attached.”
Only flawless love could move him. Only that kind of love would make Troy truly believe.
Skyla only loved him for what he had.
Those words sounded pure, but all Ayla felt was Troy’s arrogance and conceit. With such high demands, how could he still be so confident he could get it effortlessly?
Flawless love can’t be bought, no matter how much money you have.
With desires this big, Troy is bound to be consumed by them.
Ayla didn’t want him to stay deluded, so she warned him, “Prepare yourself. I’ll never be able to give you
that.”
Troy didn’t listen. He always got what he wanted. He could even sit here and talk calmly with Ayla now. He believed it was something he’d earned through effort.
There’s no rush. I can take it slowly.
