Chapter 462 James and Halle
Finished
Draven really was taking good care of Ayla–paying attention to every detail, worrying about everything.
“Satisfied” didn’t even begin to cover it.
After Ayla finished drinking, she lifted the empty glass and showed it to Draven. “How was that?”
Draven didn’t humor her at all. “Perfect.”
Will genuinely felt like he couldn’t stay any longer.
Seeing Draven in relationship mode was seriously hard to adapt to.
Herman was suffering too–mainly because of the reason Ayla had called him here in the first place.
Ayla set the glass down.
Draven poured her a cup of warm water and placed it in front of her. Anything cold was now firmly out of Ayla’s reach.
Ayla noticed every one of these small details. Without realizing it, her mood lifted.
Then, she brought up the real issue. “Herman, I know Melody likes Draven.”
Herman immediately realized this involved Melody. A bad feeling settled in.
“I started an entertainment company. It’s still in its early stages. Melody had her friend cause me a lot of trouble. She already snatched away a client I’d finalized. Hannah and I thought she’d stop, but today she even showed up at the place where I was meeting my client just to block
me.”
Ayla continued calmly, “Can you help me? Talk to Melody. Ask her to stop targeting me.”
The more Herman listened, the worse his expression became. He was genuinely shocked. Melody had gotten this out of hand. Even without Ayla saying more, he wouldn’t let Melody continue acting like this. He stood up immediately, his face serious. “Ayla, I’ll give you an explanation for this.”
Ayla’s words sounded polite, but they were all about social courtesy. Herman, an old fox, understood that perfectly.
Otherwise, why would Ayla have asked Draven to be here?

Chapter 16 James and Halle
Truthfully, even if Ayla hadn’t brought Draven to reinforce her position and had just told him directly over the phone, Herman wouldn’t have ignored it.
First, he genuinely considered Ayla a friend. Second, he’d been advising Melody to give up on Draven for as many years as she’d known him. Even with all his patience, he was truly fed up.
Herman was ready to go see Melody immediately.
Ayla told him there was no need to rush. But Herman knew very well–this wasn’t something he could delay.
Draven was sitting right there.
Before leaving, Herman added, “Ayla, thank you.”
If Ayla had taken matters into her own hands, Melody would have suffered badly.
By bringing this up openly first, Ayla had considered his feelings and given him face.
It was also a warning: if Melody caused trouble again in the future, there would be no reason left to show mercy–both courtesy and goodwill had already been extended.
Herman had never underestimated Ayla, but at this moment, he truly felt how vast the gap between people could be.
Ayla was nearly four years younger than Melody, yet her way of handling things was far more
mature.
Melody couldn’t compare at all.
Perhaps everything had always gone Melody’s way, raising her to be sheltered and impulsive, acting purely on her own temperament.
This time, Herman wouldn’t soften his heart again.
Herman left and asked Will if he wanted to come with him.
Will felt like he needed some time to process everything. After saying goodbye to Ayla and the others, he followed Herman out anyway.
Of course, he was exhausted enough already–he wasn’t about to get involved in Herman’s family drama.
But the fact that Draven and Ayla were dating had shaken him.

Chapter 462 James and Halle
Will had been single since birth, and suddenly, he felt a twinge of loneliness.
200
He opened his contacts and realized there wasn’t a single woman he could even flirt with. All were women he was close with but had no romantic feelings for.
Suddenly, Will thought of Halle.
That old classmate had an outgoing personality. Knowing he was on a business trip, she’d invited him out for drinks once he got back.
Will was just as socially adept. Keeping things understated, he felt no burden at all as he dialed her number.
The call connected quickly. “Halle, it’s me. I’m back from my trip. Want to grab a drink?”
The other end stayed silent for a moment.
Will confirmed the call was still connected. “Hey, my old classmate?”
Then, a voice came through.
“Will Newton?” James’s unmistakable Zheron accent sounded from the phone.
“James?” Will froze. “Why is it you?”
“I’m with Ms. Kinsman right now. Want to come over and join us?”
Will didn’t think much of it. “Where are you?”
“At my place.”
Still, Will didn’t overthink it.
After all, Halle and James were both social butterflies. It wasn’t surprising they’d ended up together.
