Chapter 480 Friend Talk
Troy didn’t ask anything else. He just turned around and left.
Bria waved off the nosy girls who kept crowding her and only kept Renee by her side.

“Ayla’s talking Sol into coming to my birthday. He’s even giving me a ride. Tell me how I was supposed to say no? I had no choice but to give in for love!”
Renee looked just as shocked and just as hyped. “Oh my God! Bria, you totally scored! That injury was worth it!”
“Right?”
Bria looked so smug she might’ve grown a tail and wagged it.
“If I hadn’t faked the injury, I would’ve walked away with nothing today.” Then she gave Renee a look. “You better keep your mouth shut about it. I need you to take this to the grave. Got it?”
Renee nodded fast. “I’m with you. I wanna meet Sol too!”

Kaleb’s wound got wrapped up, and Ayla was ready to take him home.
But Kaleb still had stuff to deal with, so he decided to call a car.
She kept telling him to go ahead, so Ayla drove off first.
His ride was only a few minutes out. He waited near the road.
Waiting like that meant standing around doing nothing. Nobody looked animated doing it, and Kaleb was no different. Every now and then, he glanced at his phone. His expression was cold, just like Ayla’s. But the angles of his face were sharper. His features were stronger. That made him look even more distant. Without expression, he looked like he was wrapped in ice. The colder he looked, the more magnetic he seemed. And if anyone actually pissed him off? That stare could cut steel. He had a whole aura going.
Bria walked out of the hospital entrance and spotted him instantly. Kaleb was tall and lean, and even just standing sideways, he looked cool. His side profile was clean and striking.
She had no idea why, but–Kaleb looked kinda hot?
She’d seen every hot guy out there, local or international. But Kaleb’s vibe was different.
Maybe it was the way he treated her. Guys never talked to her like that. Kaleb did. He even had the guts to go up against her brother.
Yeah. That had to be it.
The two of them were on opposite ends of the social scale, but Kaleb acted like he didn’t notice. Like none of it mattered. He didn’t try to act smaller. That made Bria want to see him on his knees, spine bent.
A wild dog that wouldn’t listen needed to be broken.

Taming him would be so satisfying.

Sure, good looks mattered. But finding someone who could actually keep her entertained? That was rare.
Bria didn’t even hesitate. She strutted right over.
Kaleb hadn’t noticed her yet, so she called, “Hey, Kaleb.”
He didn’t flinch. He just turned his head with a look that screamed disgust.
Just hearing her voice put him in a bad mood? Fine. Let’s see how long that attitude lasts.
Bria had told Ayla she wouldn’t mess with him. But if she came off as a friendly owner offering her stray dog
a second chance, that didn’t break the deal. She was “trying to be better,” after all.
She tilted her chin up. Damn it. Why were all the guys so tall? Totally messed with her energy.
In her head, she pictured Kaleb crushed under her heel. But her face stayed polite. “Kaleb, sometimes a fight’s the best way to start something real. I might’ve hurt you a little, and your sister chewed me out for it. I’ve been thinking about it, and I actually feel kind of guilty… So what if you just hung out with me instead? I’ll take care of you.”
Bria had a whole crew of followers, but none of them had Kaleb’s edge; If someone like him walked behind her, she’d look even more untouchable.
And maybe then she’d stop being so pissed about everything.
Kaleb didn’t react. At all. Not even a twitch.
So he wanted to be stubborn? Fine. She’d play nice. “I’m serious. I know I messed up. I’m being honest here. I’m trying. Can’t we at least be friends?”
Bria looked like her dad. Gorgeous face. Killer presence. Big personality. When she softened her voice just right and showed a little vulnerability, it hit hard. Guys usually folded in seconds.
Kaleb should’ve been no different. Bria stood there, waiting.
Then a car pulled up. Kaleb opened the door and got in without even glancing at her again.
Bria’s whole face changed. “Are you freaking serious?! You’re ignoring me again?!”
Kaleb turned his head just long enough to hit her with a look colder than death. “Get out of my face.”
The car shot forward. Exhaust blew straight into her face.
He just left. For real.
With that same look on his face.
