Chapter 500 He Ignores Me
Bria immediately behaved. “I want to invite Kaleb to my birthday party. Can you talk to him? I invited a lot of people this time. They’re all friends who know me. It wouldn’t be bad for Kaleb.”
Ayla was surprised. “Why are you looking for Kaleb?”
Bria lifted her still–wrapped hand. “I messed up. I thought my birthday would be a good chance to smooth things over.”
That’s a lie!
I want your brother to be my pet!
Ayla stayed silent.
Bria kept going. “Is that not allowed? I promised I wouldn’t mess with you or Kaleb anymore. You never said I couldn’t be friends with him.”
Ayla replied flatly, “You two aren’t suited to be friends. You don’t run in the same circles.”
Bria snapped, “Why not? I think it’d work just fine!”
“Then contact Kaleb yourself. If he wants to go, I won’t
I won’t stop
him.”
Bria blurted out, “I did. He ignored me!”
Ayla finally understood and raised an eyebrow. “So you came to me after he shut you down?”
Bria stiffened. “You still dare to laugh at me?”
“Since Kaleb already refused, I won’t help you. You can leave now.”
“You–you-”
Bria was so angry that she almost passed out.
Seeing that Bria was about to throw a fit, Ayla pointed at the door and coldly dismissed her.
Bria couldn’t accept leaving in such disgrace and suddenly said, “Ayla, why don’t you remarry my brother? I’ll help set it up. Just be my sister–in–law again. Asking for favors would be way easier!”
If Ayla were her sister–in–law, Ayla couldn’t reject her so easily. If she did, Bria could complain anytime. She could eat Ayla’s food and have Ayla set up meetings with Sol whenever she wanted.
She hadn’t realized it before, but the thought shocked her.
If Ayla were her sister–in–law, there would be so many benefits.
Bria’s gaze changed completely as her thoughts raced. She coaxed, “Think about it. Wouldn’t it be great? You’d be my brother’s wife, and we’d be family again. Everything would be so convenient. Don’t you think
so?”

Ayla looked at the excitement in Bria’s eyes. Bria and Troy always thought in terms of benefits and took it as a given.
That mindset worked pretty well for them.
They were happy and didn’t lose anything.
Bria continued, “Think about it. You and my brother had feelings before. Getting back together wouldn’t be hard. He treats you differently now. I didn’t ask him, but I can tell. Maybe if you got back together, things really would change-”
Ayla cut in, “Sol doesn’t like Troy.”
Bria froze.
It felt like a hard slap that left her dizzy. She didn’t even know how to react, and it looked ridiculous.
Ayla was amused by Bria’s expression and smiled. “Pick one. Your brother, or Sol?”
Bria’s face tightened as she glared. “How can you even compare those?”
“It’s just a choice.”
Bria hesitated for two seconds, then answered, “…Sol.”
Renee wanted to laugh, but she didn’t dare.
That choice was brutal.
Ayla found Bria kind of funny. “Your sibling bond… is impressive.”
Bria clenched her teeth. “Stop mocking me. Troy is my brother. That won’t change. But Sol is different. If she hates me, I’ll never get close. It’s about chances. Of course I choose Sol.”
Ayla nodded. “Makes sense.”
“Obviously!”
Bria wasn’t stupid. She just often didn’t feel like thinking.
Ayla glanced at the time. “You should leave. I don’t have time for this.”
Thinking of Kaleb, Bria still wouldn’t give up. “I want Kaleb on my birthday. Help me.”
Ayla refused. “I’m busy.”
Bria snapped, “Why won’t you help me?”
Ayla’s expression turned serious. “I’m not your mom.”
Bria was left speechless.
